I collect key chains. Every place i have ever been i have a key chain from, well at least most of them. i only recently started collecting and I'm aiming to visit all 50 states. i currently have visited 18. now i want a key chain from those 18 - Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Texas, North Carolina, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, Hawaii, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, Nevada, Colorado, and New York. I also need one for Key West and Mexico (I have also been to Curacao, st thomas, Aruba, Puerto Rico, and Dominica-not bad for being 14 I'd say, 4 countries, 2Continents, and 18 states) where can i get these? I'm hoping to avoid zazzle if i can because they are all the same shape and everything so having 20 of those wouldn't be very cool but if that's the only option that's okay.. more

Resolved Question: What Caribbean island should I move to?

I am a US Citizen looking to move to the Caribbean and I am looking for suggestions on which island I should move to. Please do not turn this question into a debate about qualifying for citizenship, immigration and work authorization. I can obtain a legal residency status in almost any nation. Which island would be of most benefit based on my expectations. - white sandy beaches with no shortage of gorgeous water - limited rocky coastlines and limited elevations - no bigger than jamica or st. croix in land mass - does not have a fierce hatred for the United States - mostly English speaking - island where a skilled american with legal rights to work can find a job Here is what I am weighing.. - Jamaica - St. Croix USVI - British Virgin Islands - Barbados - St. Lucia - Martinique - Belize (central america) - Aruba - Cayman Islands (harder for me to get into) more

Resolved Question: joran van der sloot case, read and comment?

here is what i think. joran just retracted his confession. BECAUSE he isn't seeing any other way out. i think joran should be offered a deal. if he confesses and gives a full description of what went on and he tells the police where natalee is and she is found and identified as natalee holloway THEN he can get what he wants, that is go to aruba. the flores-ramires family has said they are willing to make a deal with joran to help the holloway family. they have stephanie, they had a proper burial for her, this guy is in a high risk place. if he dies, there goes natalee's location. the holloway family deserves to know where natalee is located, how she died. if joran tells police there she is, they find her, he gets send to Aruba's prison and serves time for natalee and stephanie. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF HE BE MORE COMFORTABLE!! at least natalee will be at peace.west of encino, AND LET THE HOLLOWAYS SUFFER!!??? it's not about joran paying for what he did at this point it's about giving closure to the holloway family and give natalee soul peace.you dont understand!! in peru he would only spent 35yrs. but if he confess to natalee... HE ISN'T GETTING OUT!! and the only way policear getting that out if him is if he thinks he has something to gain. This deal is not for his benefit, it's for natalee, her family, and friends.Besides, we know of two murders, this guy could have a longer list. we know his dad was a judge/lawyer in aruba. he could have roughe up a girl at a club, police were called and when they saw it was van der sloot's kid, he was taken to daddy, and so that means his priors ARE NOT EXSISTANT because they were over looked by daddy. joran likes control SPECIALLY towards women. that is why i firmly believe he would have not dumped her in the water, as soon as the body hit the water he loses control, too many variables. but joran felt comfortable at home. that is where natalee is buried in my opinion. if you check the records, i bet you find construction going on at around the time natalee was being looked for. ANYWAY.... the deal is for natalee, who cares about van der sloot suffering. i care about natalee holloway and her family's suffering. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!to :katzy ARE YOU INSANE!!! first of all he would not rot in prison because peru has a max of ten years AND they have a stupid 2 year for every year credit. so the AS* Hole would be out in 17 years maybe less. Natalee IS NOT in the ocean. like i said this guy like control, the ocean has too many variables, as soon as the body went overboard so would his control. this guy had to keep her close, somewhere he would be able to still control natalle even after dead. yes this is his only ace up his sleve, but to win he would most gladly put it out on the table. the deal would be, tell the poilce, the police MUST be able to find AND!! identify her as natalee holloway AND THEN.... he would get send to arubian prison. for a LIFE !! sentence. more

Resolved Question: Vacation in Aruba, is it expensive there?

Hi, I'm planning to go to Aruba, I haven't bought a ticket or anything but it's a place that interests me... I was wondering, if I'm canadian, when I go with my canadian money, do stuff there cost more than here? Will I be richer there or poorer? Eating, going out, shopping, etc. What will my money value in Canada compare to my value in Aruba? Also, where in the caribbean would you say is the cheapest once you are there (I'm not talking about plane tickets, but rather living cost there)? I don't want to go and it costs me 100$ canadian to buy a t-shirt, but if the opposite is true it costs 5$ to buy a t-shirt then let me know where... LOL more

Resolved Question: Does anyone know where the video to the "Lost Aruban Camera" is?

This is a true story on Yahoo about a guy that found a camera floating in the water in a waterproof case in Florida and then found the owners who had lost it 6 months before in Aruba! Here's the link to the story, but on that page, the link to the YouTube video isn't valid. I want to see the video, especially about the turtle! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100614/ap_on_re_us/us_camera_s_odyssey@HFA-01 Thanks for the page. Don't understand why the writer posted this below the picture of the sea turtle though, "A sea turtle, similar to this green turtle, was found in Florida with the camera." After all, from reading about the camera, there was no sea turtle found with the camera, only on the film. more

Resolved Question: Joran Van Der Sloot.....?

Resolved Question: JORAN - ILL TELL WHERE NATALIE IS IF YOU TAKE ME TO ARUBA?

I take it that joran wants some sort of reduction of his prison sentence if he is taken back to aruba and show where Natalie's body is........ i would tell him to go to hell.......they gave him him $ 15 thousand and he gave the beth the finger.....he has been giving them the finger for five years......... so if i was beth.......i would tell joran to go to hell.......he wil face 35 years in a peruvian prison................i would be tired of his lies........... more

Resolved Question: Will Joran Van der Sloot get sent back to Aruba?

Saw a news report this morning where they were discussing the chance that he might either get a light sentence, (something like 9 years) for his killing, or might get sent back to Aruba because he claims to know where Natalee's body is. Van Der Sloot is a known lier - hopefully the Peruvian authorities won't fall for this trick. Why does Peru give such light sentences to murderers? In the U.S. repeat drug offenders, and repeat shoplifting offenders get heavier sentences than 9 years. Mind you, several celebrity murderers have gotten off with little or no punishment. more

Resolved Question: What do you think Jordan van der sloot did with Natalee's body?

I feel so bad for the holloway family, just not having closure and all. Do you think Jordan will tell what he did to Natalee? Where do you think her body rests? I personally believe she is in the bottom of the ocean somewhere, I mean it was Aruba and all. My heart Goes out to both families, and I pray for the truth to be revealed to them. more

Resolved Question: Has this administration's FBI dropped the ball again?

One terror attack undetected after another - 4 in the last 6 months. Charges against Black Panthers who intimidated voters with a nightstick at a polling place - dropped. Now it appears the FBI knew on May 10 that Van Der Sloot was extorting Natalee Holloway's mother for $250,000 to tell all he knew about her death in Aruba, but they didn't arrest him, letting him escape to S. America where he committed murder. Is it time for a shakeup of Eric Holder and Mueller? Shouldn't Obama have found competent people to run his administration - is the job too much for him to handle ?http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,593983,00.html more

Resolved Question: Should I visit Los Cabos in August?

I was looking into vacations, and I am working in July, so I was looking at different places to visit for August. Last year I went to Aruba, and it was AMAZING, and part of me wants to go back, but I want to see another place. I was just wondering about Los Cabos in August? I was reading online it's basically hella hot, but is it still fun and nice?? Any suggestions of where else to go in August if Los Cabos is too hot for that time of year. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: 5 years to the day Van Der Sloot kills again - How surprised are you to hear this scumbag killed again?

After getting away with murder in the case of Holloway - now you have a daughter of a prominent Peruvian dead stab by Van Der Sloot. Under arrest in Chile where he fled to by Bus he will hopefully soon be extradited to Peru. How surprised are you after Aruba did everything it could to bungle the case and let the son of a judge off the hook? With his dad dead and outside of the protection of Aruba and Holland - will justice finally be done? more

Going on a vacation to the Caribbean soon and one of the things I would like to do is swim with the sharks. Anyone know any specific countries/places I can do this at? Resolved Question: Best Caribbean island vacation?

My wife and I have been to Aruba, Jamaica, Cancun, and Costa Rica. We are trying to decide between trying something new or going back to Aruba. We are currently looking into St. Martin mostly, but will consider alternate suggestions. The things we love about Aruba: Direct, nonstop flights from DC; it's relatively safe - you don't see guys walking around with machine guns patrolling the borders of your hotel/compound; Awesome restaurants and food; beautiful beaches and snorkeling; excellent bus system-cheap and easy so you don't need a rental car; plus casinos and nightlife. We are looking at St.Martin because they also have direct flights from DC, but we will consider other destinations too. Does anyone have an opinion on where we should go?Yes, we've been to the Mediterranean and would love to go back but airfare right now is a bit outrageous. Mallorca is our dream retirement destination! more

Resolved Question: I disagree with Stephen Hawking about the nature of aliens, my thoughts enclosed, what do you think?

--I do it through deduction and logic: He is playing a trick (stephen), I think aliens, if they are a couple million years ahead of us, would have likely powered their civilization with all the energy they could ever want from fusion or sun(s) (one kilometer band around the earth of solar energy for one year, would be the equivalent of all the energy content in our oil reserves...thats our sun, can you figure out how much energy we could extract from an O star? Yea, thats right), extracted all the ore they could want from mining asteroids...and would likely have mapped and surveyed the entire galaxy (its only 100,000 light years accross)...and although that sounds big, think of it in terms of millions of years...its nothing...they likely mapped this planet as one suitable for life long ago, and if they would invade, they would likely invade one where the organisms on the planet were in the dinosaur era...By Hawking's own deduction, life might be average, if not plentiful, given the simple math and probability of 200 billion stars in our galaxy.....I think they know we are here, and since they have gone through a technological singularity ages ago, are likely huge brains that control various bodies, they may not even be from one dimention....They could very likely, if millions of years more advanced than us, use 'synth' humans to 'vacation' on our planet, without having to pillage and rape our resources...So one of them could be in its study, seeing other's thoughts and learning, its machines being powered by tiny fusion reactors on a ship and ore being extracted for various worlds through robots, and then go into a 'neural net' like avatar and control a human body and have a nice vacation in aruba...They likely know of us because: close light speed isn't really impossible..not even for us...solar sails can go to 95% of the speed of light (thats a fact, with our current tech, look it up)..100,000 light years is really nothing in the grand scheme of things...They likely mapped every solar system and every planet fostering life or hosting it....They probably saw us when we were dinosaurs....I see absolutely no need for them to invade because of plentiful energy from fusion and the sun, and plentiful ore from asteroids...if they turned their planet into a wasteland due to ages past from less sophisticated technology, they could either terraform it over a millenia, which is less time for them to get to us, most likely, or they would have gone to a planet with less civilized life (such as the jurassic period on our planet) to invade.... I don't know what hawking is smoking... I think we have not seen radio signals because either there are ancient biosphereswe ae looking at (dinosaur types) or really really advanced civilizations that communicated with things like fiber optics, etc rather than radio...I mean what is the likelihood we will find a civilization in our 200 year window of radio use.....the universe is billions of years old hawking is smoking crack.mr_grees I thionk there will be more commonality that you might think...If aliens ate the 'weak' ones, instead of just leaving it up to nature to weed them out, then they would presumably not have the same attachment to a child that we do, which is not really cultural, but biologically universal on our planet...and hence, parents would be less likely to nurture and help their young....hence, less probability of surviving.. So, I think there will be much more commonality than we might originally think, and I don't think that evolutionary tracks that are undesirable are necessarily a given....for example, aggression was useful for our survival during the caveman era...but in the future, it might be useless with things like nanotechnology able to goo the planet to oblivion or nuclear weapons....so its very forseeable we could use bio-engineering to eradicate these 'undesirable' attributes...and through trial and error, see the 'naturally selected' optimum strategyfor a stable civ....I see no reason why THEY couldn't have done the say, if we just project ourself say, 5 million years from now without going extinct.....New name... commodities if you want to get down to it are either minerals or biological in nature. Minerals can be mined from asteroids or planets that have no civilizations, not to mention converted from energy...And biological commodities can easily be generated through advanced bio-technology/nano-technology in a post-singularity society...Biochemical interactions could be engineered to generate any biological commodity we would want...scientists at MIT have already engineered a microbe to gather energy through photosynthesis and convert it to sugar, while another converts the sugar into ethanol...Sure, we could go through a technological dark age...maybe quite soon in fact...due to an economic collapse, a western default crisis and a series of defaults that trigger it....maybe even a resource crisis starting with oil.. But it is highyl doubtful, even with nuclear skirmishes, that mankind couldn't eventually harness these powers, and post-singularity, have any commodityat its disposal.. Look at any graph comparing the size of the sun and the Earth, and you will see that we have all the energy we will ever need. And look at the asteroid belt and its minerals, and youll see all the minerals we will ever need...Look at biotechnology and biological systems, and you shall see even a failed biosphere that cannot support us, can be slowly grown again through innovation...Many forests in the United States exist today solely due to man's will, from past ages of deforestation, crop yield has increased exponentially due to bio-engineering...our innovative capacity has allowed us to do this in as little as a century....even if the planet goes up to 400 degrees on the surface, the few that do survive will live in huge domes protected from the outside. So no, I disagree, I think we are used to a world of scarcity because we have not yet realized our full innovative potential as a self-aware entity. We have not planned aheadand have been apathetic about taking any sort of initiatve, and we are experiencing a clash of civilizations...of different perspectives...so not only do we have a growing populatio but a clash of perspectives, which makes people confused and conflictive in their natures....And although I think we are headed for a dark age soon, I think this hardly means the end of our specie, or of our ingenuity that will eventually allow us not only to use the power of fusion to satisfy all of our energy needs and asteroids our mineral needs, but we will go through the intelligence singularity, and we will fundamentally ceaze to be human after that...at least how we currently understand it. Kind of like when the first primate saw his own drawings...and became self-aware of his thoughts...starting a reaction by which his mind changed the brain, the brain the mind, and genetically modified the biochemistry of the brain through epi-genetics to lead to the product---us. Congratulations humanity.haha, well katzy, if thats true, then hawking is behaving very naughtily for such an intelligent man...But quite frankly, I think thats a pretty stupid way to look at it. Because 1, he could have gotten promoted without doing that, and 2, he could have gotten promoted doing the discovery documentary and saying everything I just said up above, and been just as interesting in promoting his book. I mean, he could have said instead that aliens are most likely are already here, which based on all the logic from above, is very very likely, so it would be both truthful in a way and interesting in order to promote his book... Yet, he choose deliberately the 'aliens could very likely be hostile route' which although as interesting, isn't as truthful if you use logic a priori, From the two, my strategy is both just as profitable but morally beneficial as well, so it seems he would choose that one if he were ONLY interested in promotion. But he didn't, he deliberately chosethe 'aliens could be hostile' because he beleives in it, not because of promotion, for he could have gotten promoted just as well with the 'aliens could be already here' strategy...Thus, the only explanation and rational conclusion is that he actually beleives in what he said in the documentary. And so, no, I think we just (a) are not thinking of something he might be thinking of but did not explain sufficiently or (b) he simply is not deducing things logically or (c) has deduced what I have deduced and is either meta-messaging the alines (unlikely) or erring on the side of caution (likely) I think I will go with a and c. I think everything I have upheld above is true, but some aliens (probably a fringe, 2% of the races) couldn't amass enough technological prowess to become post singularity, and so they resort to invade...kind of like the stupid pirates of the galaxy. However, even that doesn't make much sense, becaues they could more easily mineminerals from the asteroid belt than on planet earth. Not to mention mars may have more mineral deposits or even the moons of saturn, than the crust of the earth.....if its agricultural commodities or 'food' I find it highly unlikely that such a race could have travelled the galaxy in mass without some sort of life support system, and so it would be unlikely they would invade our world just for food.....it probably wouldn't even be appetizing to them, they would have grown their own crops in self-contained domes, gotten the minerals from asteroids, energy from the sun or fusion, and outposts on worlds that does not have intelligent life.Think about it...first look up 'asteroid mining' in wikipedia....Then put two and two together...If it takes as much energy to get to orbit on our planet...why would the ybother to invade our planet to mine minerals, which we don't even know they would know how to do without our help, when they can easily do it on a gravity-less asteroid which can be bombarded easily for mining without worrying about harming natives on earth by blowing up a mountain? Yea, asteroids are kind of.....wait a second...you know what, why don't we mine asteroids? I was looking at some of the stats, they have more ore in there than most of the crust on earth...look up 'project orion' then 'space based solar power' then 'launch loop' and put two and two together....Thats the only way we would become a space farying civilization, which we ahve the capability for, without it, we would die on earth...but with it, we would gain cheap access to orbit, and hence asteroid mining and solar energy...so yea, hawking is smoking crack. more

Resolved Question: Where can i get high-res images of places around the world - for free?

Where can I get nice high res (or close to it) images of places around the world – that are free? I know I can use istock photo but the amount of images I need it would end up costing a lot of money. I am making my mom a mothers day book/scrapbook of places to see around the world – I want images of beautiful beaches, sunsets, landmarks, oceans, in the towns of real places with cobblestone ect. In places like – Aruba, Jamaca, Ireland, England, Greenland, Egypt, Hawaii, Bermunda, Barcelona, New York ect. I need as many as I can get – but I can only find very few through google and bing without people and that are large enough. Do you know anywhere I can get images like this? more

Resolved Question: Best Casinos in Carribean?

me and some friends are planning a trip to the Caribbean in the summer and we'd like their to be a casino with a poker room wherever we end up. What are some of the casinos in the Caribbean that spread lower limit poker at least ($2/5 NL ). Preferably on an island where the tourists will be younger (we're all 21/22) Thanks, I've heard Aruba, Curacao and PR mentioned but most the casinos don't talk about what games and stakes they spread. This is important as broke college students $25 min. blackjack wouldn't be in our price range more

Resolved Question: How should apply these eyeshadow colors to my eyes?

Resolved Question: What's the best spot for a Caribbean vacation, bang-for-your-buck-wise?

The girlfriend and I are looking for a 5-7 day Caribbean excursion. There are so many options on the table we feel we are spreading ourselves too thin in our search, so we'd like to narrow. Here's what we are looking for (in order of importance): 1) A price tag under $1600 when all is said and done. (Flight, hotel, food/drink, activities...everything) 2) Beautiful, not-too-crowded beaches with clean, clear water. Access to secluded areas, and kid-free beaches would be great. 3) A variety of activities. While the greater part of this trip will be beach relaxing, we definitely want a couple days of adventure. Specifically: snorkeling/diving, jungle tours/hiking, rafting/tubing, ruins and landmarks, off-roading, fishing, etc, etc. I'm a nature boy, so I'm more interested in off-the-beaten-path stuff as opposed to cookie cutter tourist trap stuff. We want nice amenities, but don't require 5 star. We are 31/26, so are down with a bit of nightlife, but aren't going crazy. If anyone has suggestions on destinations, and maybe even resorts or regions within those destinations, we would greatly appreciate the advice. Also, recs on where NOT to go are also great. Here is our current, broad list: Costa Rica Belize Riviera Maya Aruba Puerto Rico Bay Islands (Honduras) Virgin Gorda (Little Dix Bay) Turks and Caicos Bahamas US Virgin Islands Jamaica Dominican Republic Trinidad/Tobago Feel free to talk up or talk down these spots or add to the list. Thanks in advance! more

Resolved Question: Which island would you recommended?

We are open to almost anything we just don't really know where to start. We would like the island to be accessible from the US pretty easily, and have good hotels to stay at. We would also like a low crime rate and minimal crowds. Price doesn't matter, we were just wondering if anyone has been to any of these islands and has any personal recommendations on where to stay. Thanks! Aruba, Galapagos, Anguilla, Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Bonaire, Cayman Islands, Grenada and Carriacou, St Martin/St Maarten, Trinidad, Turks & Caicos Islands, US Virgin Islands, Bermuda Puerto Rico, Curacao, Tobago more

Resolved Question: being afraid of rejection :S? and if she likes me or not :S?

well there's this girl i like and she's two years younger than me. i told her i liked her about a moth and a half ago and she said she doesn't know because she said she likes someone else. i didn't talk to her for 2 weeks and she started talking to me again. so i started liking her again more and more everyday, and i would start talking to her everyday and than it switched each day. like she would start a convo one day and i would start a convo the other. i've been over to her house twice in the past 2 weeks. her family loves me and i'm cool with her little brother. she met my mom and my mom loves her. so right now she's on vacation and i haven't talked to her since the day she got to aruba. we set up a day where me and her can hang out at my place and we did for the sunday and she comes back on friday. i'm planning to go for a walk with her where she used to live (she used to live across the street from me about 2 years ago) and go to a park where me and her always used to go when we were younger. and i was going to tell her how i feel and how i would say it because i don't want to go on too strong about it because what ever she's doing is making me fall in love with her even more everyday. and if i don't get rejected i was than planning on going out to dinner. and i dunno if this helps but i said to her that i would miss her a lot :$ :( and she said ill miss you too :$ :) and she texted me again saying try not to miss me too much ;) and i said ill try but i know that will be impossible and i said don't forget about me ;). but i'm just afraid of rejection or if she just wants to be friends(meaning rejection(N)) any ideas? and we were talking about the guy she liked and she said it was a waste of time because she said he was being a total doucher to her (N)? any ideas? more

Resolved Question: Where is the best place to go in Florida?

My, My Mom, My Dad, and My Boyfriend are all wanting to go on a vacation in October. We talked about Cancun and Aruba... and yes that would be nice but i don't have the money saved. So we have decided on going to Florida. We would like to go somewhere that has really pretty water, that will be warm, and still offer plenty of stuff to do in the evenings. We aren't 21 yet. We would also like to be able to drive to Disney theme park at least one day if at all possible. Yes I understand that, that might not be possible. Thanks. more

Resolved Question: Going to Costa Rica next week 3/15-21 2010. Have a few questions?

I see lots of references on line listed in $US. Is CR like Peru and Aruba and other places where there is a large traffic in $US and you can purchase in either local currency or $US without difficulty, even in many big businesses/stores. In fact some countries I have been to actually have ATMs that dispense either the local currency or $US and will bill your CC in $US, which avoids a currency exchange fee. Also, how common are ATMs to find (do most of the local banks have them accessible or do you have to go into the bank to change money or get cash from a debit card?) This was a problem in Aguas Calientes near Machu Picchu when I was there as there were NO banks or ATMs in the city at all... And lastly (for now) what is the current exit visa fee? Is it cash only? Is it payable in colones or $US only? (I almost got stuck once when they wanted $US only to leave a country!!) Thanks! more
