Hello, I live in Ohio, and my fiance wanted to get married in Dec. this year and we are trying to find a good deal on at least a five night stay somewhere, warm. We are on a 3000 dollar budget. My fiance wants to go out of the U.S. but im not picky. He wants aruba, but does anyone know of a good resort in aruba? Or another place thats warm that we can have an all inclusive trip? He wanted a winter wedding but wants to go somewhere warm or hot, go figure. and we need airfare included. Thank you moreResolved Question: do you still have a shower or receive gifts with a destination wedding?
My mother died when I was in high school, so I have no one to help me plan a wedding, and my fiance and I are in college and don't have the money for a wedding and honeymoon, so we have decided to have a destination wedding somewhere like mexico, aruba, dominican republic, etc. We are thinking it may just be us to...there is a small chance we would invite immediate family and grandparents, but we are leaning more towards just us for the money aspect (my dad cannot help us with anything financially). My question is, since I won't be having a big, everyone's invited church wedding, will people still throw me wedding showers? Will I still get gifts even though people know its a destination wedding not many will be at? moreResolved Question: How much does it cost to have a beach wedding in these places?
Miami, Florida... Aruba...or Barbados... Nantucket, Mass...and a wedding in Central Park moreResolved Question: Destination Wedding Questions?
Hi there, My fiance and I have started planning our wedding..well thinking about it. We would love a destination wedding in the caribbean. I'm thinking Turks and Caicos, Aruba, St. Lucia etc. We also have a 3 year old daughter so we would love family friendly resorts that have a lot of activities for kids as there are young children in both our families. I spoke with a travel agent and absolutely fell in love with Beaches Resort and Spa in Turks and Caicos...I can only imagine how much this place would cost! I don't want to have to ask my guests to dish out $2000. Here's my question, have any of you planned a destination wedding? Where do you start? How does the whole booking start with a travel agent...do you have to pay them while they look for deals and try to get a solid price for you? How does that work? Also where have you gone and how much did you and your guests have to pay? What is the proper etiquette, who do you invite? I imagine for us it would be a small gathering, I don't want anything extravagant just a nice wedding on a beach and a dinner with close friends and family. Please let me know, I'm not sure how to start this at all....lol Thank you! moreResolved Question: 15 things about YOUR wedding! Just for fun!?

any advise on excursions and things to do, and any restraunts that you would recommend,we are staying at the Hyatt Regency resort moreResolved Question: HELP! I've got 2 free plane tickets and want to plan a vacation, tropical and inexpensive, where would you go?
THIS IS A BIT LONG< READ ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE TIME TO HELP ME DECIDE: THANKS! First of all I don't want to sound like I am complaining here, just confused on where to go. I realize I am very lucky to have the tickets! The plane tickets are for anywhere in the U.S. plus Cancun, Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Aruba. Most of these places outside the U.S. would be too expensive though in terms of hotel and food for me right now for two people, so where else in the mainland U.S. could I visit that is somewhat near a nice beach, maybe some shells, and isn't too expensive for a hotel there and food? I only have about an extra 1,000 for a 3 day trip somewhere for the hotel and food and spending. All I want to do is spend some quality time with my husband and sit and watch the waves, drink a tropical drink at a tiki hut, swim in a huge pool and possibly take a boat out to a little island to find some shells. (Otherwise I also have free hotel rooms at any Harrah's hotel in the U.S. so I guess they have Harrah's in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, New Orleans, Phoenix, and other places more inland in the U.S. That would be very cheap then since I would then have free air and hotel, but none of those places is really that tropical!) I could also choose to fly to New Orleans or Miami and try a 4 day cruise. Upside of that: fairly cheap and could see Key West AND Mexico ! And lots of food all included in the price Downside: I've never been on a cruise , sometimes there are hidden costs to consider, tipping, extra excursion, etc. and I wouldn't get into the pool with tons of people, no privacy, and could seem like I'm stuck on a boat with a bunch of drunks since I heard the 4 days cruises are "party cruises". Again see I'm totally stuck on what to do and where to go with these tickets! Anyway if I don't do the Harrah's free hotel thing or the cruise then, I was thinking possibly Pensacola, Florida since it is supposed to be cheaper and they still offer the touristy things to do there, but not sure if that might be too boring. Do you have other ideas that could work? I wouldn't mind using the free tickets to California but then the hotel prices are just too high. And Virginia Beach is supposed to be nice but I'm not sure if it is expensive to visit and I know it won't be as tropical as Florida or Cancun of course since there will doubtfully be tiki huts and tropical drinks/ not sure though? Also lots and lots of people say go to Cancun but I worry about a few things: crime to and from the hotels, crime at the hotels, crime going to dinner in the cities and I'd hate to see children begging on the beach on my vacation or stray dogs starving to death running down the beaches. If you've gone there, is that what you've encountered ever? Some previous yahoo people said that was what it was like, not fun for a vacation then. Someone recommended a place calledCancun Palace (p.s. my research shows: Le Blanc in Cancun looks amazing if you have more money than me for the trip!), someone else said Myrtle Beach, others Key West? Has anyone been to Key West lately, do you have any quiet beaches or are they all packed with crazy tourists? If I can't come up with a trip that my husband would also like, then he said I should just use one of the tickets to fly to my niece's wedding in Minneapolis and wait for the other ticket for something else ....BORING use of the 2 tickets I say, and then I might never go on the somewhat more "romantic" and "relaxing" trip with my husband. I think I'd rather just pay for the wedding ticket for myself separately.Sooooo ...... if you could go anywhere, where would you fly for a fairly inexpensive vacation with my 2 free tickets? I'm totally stumped on what to do and where to go! Thanks for any input!TRVLLADY- THANKS, my husband just said the same thing, make a list to help decide....so your advice was right on target since I am stuck. And I will look into Virginia Beach more extensively then as well! moreResolved Question: Parents love my boyfriend, but aren't budging about marriage. What do I do?
My boyfriend and I have been together for two years now. EVERYONE loves him, he is honestly the greatest guy I could have asked for, and my parents approve. However, they keep saying subtle things about getting married. Like; my newborn niece can be my flower girl, ill be done with college, etc....I know they don't want me to get married soon, but we want to. I've known he's the one since I met him. We recently took a trip to Aruba as a family and he borrowed some money from my parents to buy me an engagement ring for "down the road"(or at least thats what he told them). I want to get married this upcoming July, which means we have to get engaged within the next few months. Is there a way that I could talk my parents into supporting our wedding? How do I let them know that this is our decision, and this is one thing that they cannot control in my life? Also, they paid for half of my brothers wedding (he was 20 at the time). My mother was 22 when she got married to my father. I will be 19 by the time of the wedding, and my boyfriend will be 22. How do I bring up the fact that they supported my brother, and they aren't supporting me? I hope someone can help me! This is an awful situation to be in!**My boyfriend borrowed the money because we were in aruba, he didn't have his card on him. He paid them back two weeks after we returned home. We also don't want to move in together until we are married.** moreResolved Question: Why do people like going to Jamaica?
I just returned from my second trip- My first trip I took I elected to take, this second trip was for a wedding. Both times I was in Negril. All I can say is that the locals do not leave you alone for a minute- From the moment you step off the plane you have to put up with people grabbing your bags without permission and carrying them out to the bus area where they demand 10 bucks and threaten not to give you your bag back if you refuse. Then, while laying on the beach it is a constant flood of locals accosting you for money, or rousting you out of a relaxed state to hand you a flyer...Just when you get back to relaxing another local will appear with a loudspeaker advertising a concert later in the night- And the thing is, if you are nice and just say "sorry," or "not interested," when they approach you, they will not take no for an answer. 9 times out of 10 they will make a scene ultimately screaming at you and telling you to never come back to Jamaica. It's like walking through skid row- There is no peace and it's horrifying. Why would anyone put up with it? I have also been to Aruba, Antigua, and St Barts...Have NEVER experienced the aggressive panhandling like you get in Jamaica. What a dump!Just a quick post script to "Ryan" down there...Jamaica is not themost visited destination in the Caribbean- It was in the 1970's...Now it is not even in the top 10- Check your facts there genius- I imagine the reason why is because the hassle factor is just too high. No one wants to be hassled virtually every minute of their trip- Plus the Robbery rate is through the roof, and the murder rate is the hishest in the Caribbean. moreResolved Question: Getting married in Aruba?
My fiance and I are going to Aruba mid June, and decided we want to get married there. We were wondering where the best place to get married is? How much does it cost? (the only people who would be there are my fiance and I since it would cost too much to bring our family along.) How far in advance do you need to have wedding ceremony arrangements made? Are there any wedding packages you can buy? (and what do they include?) Thanks!!Thanks "cheesequeen" but our families think it's something we should do, and are actually very excited for us, because how many people can really say they got married in Aruba? moreResolved Question: Should I buy this dress for a beach wedding?
So i need a dress for my brothers beach wedding in june. The bride is recommending all the girls to buy solid color dresses, thats just what she wants, kinda weird. But anyways is this dress good for an aruba beach wedding? I like it but they dont have it in stores so I would need to order it online or should i keep looking for something else. http://www.cache.com/cache/control/product/~category_id=0120/~product_id=05041A70230350I also have to go to a california wedding in september thats inside so I figured this dress might be able to pull off both just not sure of its bechy enough? moreResolved Question: Getting married in Aruba... the Marriott, Westin, Radisson or Hyatt?

My fiance and I are starting to plan a destination wedding in Aruba and we are having a tough time picking hotels. Westin, Hyatt and Riu are at the top of the list right now. Any thoughts on any of those or any others? Also, are there any other thoughts, ideas or tips you might have regarding a destination wedding in Aruba? All info is appreciated. In two weeks, I am going to Aruba for my cousins wedding. We will be going to the beach a lot and I really would like to take off a few pounds before i go. I am not obesse or anything; I just weigh more than I want to and more than my weight should be at my height & age and stuff. And i'm not one of those skinny girls who thinks shes fat & wants to starve herself, because I've been told by my family, friends, and the school nurse that i am a bit over-weight. I know there are ways to lose like 10 pounds in a week and then be able to keep it off. Can someone please tell me how i can loose weight fast and maybe a way to keep it off after that diet & excercise? & If you are going to answer this question with things like "Oh thats not healthy dont do it" and "Thats not possible" please dont bother answering this. Please Help! Thanks so much, I really appriciate it. =] moreResolved Question: why would my friend say she wants to get married?
One of my friends constantly talks about wanting to marry her boyfriend, whom she's been in a relationship with for about 2 years. Problem is that I have long suspected that she cheats on him. These suspicions were confirmed recently, after finding out about her being intimate with one of our groomsman from our wedding (she was a bridesmaid), as well as a night before that she was intimate with another guy who was there for the wedding. *We were all in Las Vegas for 4 days for my destination wedding on the 17th of this month.* After I got home from my honeymoon in Aruba, I spoke with her on the phone. I didn't bring the cheating info up with her, but she yapped on and on about how our wedding made her picture what her's will be like with her boyfriend. Apparently, he even moved in with her the day she got back from Las Vegas! I don't think it's my place to tell him what I know (as well as a lot of us know), but I just can't believe she talks about wanting him to propose to her!! We are all in our 30's, so it's not like we're teenagers, but she's taking the beauty of marriage and spitting all over it, I feel. What should I do? If you were me, would you say something to her...like let her know of her bad behavior? Would you let her boyfriend know what's going on? *Her bf didn't come to Las Vegas, because he had to work. She kept saying that b/c he wasn't going to be there that "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".EDIT: Sandy, I understand what you're saying. But...I know for a fact that they don't have any open relationship. When I was visiting her last Summer (she lives in a different state than me), she had one of her ex boyfriends over for drinks while I was there. He ended up staying the night with her. She said to me the next morning to not say anything to her current bf that he was even there. It put me in a really bad position, b/c then I had to see her kiss and hug her bf the next day, as if nothing had happened. moreResolved Question: Idyllic wedding locations?
My fiance and i are looking to get married in the carribean. We are taking our immediate family with us for the first week or 2 (whichever they wish) and then we will head elsewhere for a 3rd week. We are looking at Mexico, St Lucia, Aruba etc. My dilemma is that my fiance likes absolute tranquility for 2 weeks and whilst i enjoy absolute luxury and tranquility, i feel i would get bored with 3 full weeks with not much 'good' entertainment (hence the 3rd week heading somewhere more lively). The above is just a suggestion and if you can think of any ideas to give the best of both worlds then excellent. My fiance has looked at the baros Maldives which looks unbelieveably fantastic however it is extremely pricey and for that expensive price is not all inclusive and i feel (knowing us) our costs would sprial out of control. I also feel somewhere so isolated and romantic is not ideal if we have our family with us. Basically i am looking for some suggestions or even past experience you could pass on to us. We plan on heading off to wherever we have picked for a hliday in 2009 to make sure it is right. HELP!!!! moreResolved Question: I am planning a wedding in Aruba and the flight is about 8 hours. I was just on a site that was telling people's wedding stories and this is what I saw... Venues: St Fransiscus Church; Beach reception on Renaissance Island Hometown: New York City Wedding Date: July 26, 2008 Bride’s Dress Designer: Demetrios Bridesmaids’ Dresses: Butter dress by Nadia Florist: Provided by the hotel Photographer: Diana M. Lott Photography Wedding Coordinator: June Jones Honeymoon: Island hopping in Hawaii Trash the Dress Location: Various spots along the North Shore of Aruba Rob & I decided we wanted to do something different. We had gone to a bunch of weddings recently and wanted ours to be unique. After visiting Aruba in January of 2007, we fell in love with Renaissance Island. The Renaissance Aruba Hotel owns a small island ten minutes by boat off the coast! The boat picks you up from the lobby of the hotel and brings you straight there. My question is...what the hell is with the "trash the dress location"? I've never heard of this before. moreResolved Question: Know of a good photographer in the Chicagoland area? ?
I am looking for a photographer for my wedding reception. The ceremony is in Aruba, so I would only need them for a reception back home. I am looking for someone who can also do engagement pics in a studio (and hopefully that would be included in the wedding package). If you know of a place or person that takes fabulous pics of weddings pls respond!!! moreVoting Question: DESTINATION WEDDING PLANNERS?
HELLO THERE! I AM INTERESTED IN HAVING A SMALL DESTINATION WEDDING. I WOULD PREFER TO GO TO A NICE ISLAND (ARUBA, ANGUILLA, TAHITI, SANTORINI, ETC.) BUT DONT WANT TO GO TO A HEAVY TOURIST TOWN. SINCE I CANT AFFORD TO TRAVEL TO THE DESTINATION FIRST TO CHECK THE FACILITY, HAVE TASTINGS, ETC., I WANT TO USE A DESTINATION WEDDING PLANNER- HOWEVER, I HAVING TROUBLE FINDING INDEPENDENT COMPANIES (NOT ASSOCIATED WITH A SPECIFIC HOTEL OR RESIDENCE) TO SHOW ME DIFFERENT OPTIONS AND AREAS. CAN ANYONE TELL ME SOME SPECIFIC COMPANIES THAT OFFER DESTINATION WEDDING PLANNERS TO TAKE CARE OF ALL MY PLANS??? I DONT REALLY WANT REFERENCES TO MAGAZINES OR WEBSITES-- JUST SPECIFIC COMPANIES, PLEASE! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! :)Sorry about the caps lock-- I realized it was on half way through and didnt want to have to type all over again :) Thanks for your answers! moreResolved Question: Do you like this drinks idea for a wedding reception?
Instead of having a full open bar, I thought it would be nice (and more affordable, I hope) to make up a little cocktail menu with some fun cocktails that have special meaning for us. Like what we drank on our first date, Vodka Cranberry, and call it something like First Kiss. Or, since I am from Aruba, serve the traditional (and very strong) Aruba Ariba. My fiance grew up in Virginia, but I have yet to think of something to go with that. Anyway, the idea is to come up with 5 or 6 of these and serve only those, plus wine and beer. Yay or nay?I thought it would be cheaper because we'd only have to select a couple of types of liquor, like the basic rum, whisky and vodka, and play around with those, instead of having to buy gin, tequila, sambuca, southern comfort, cointreau, amaretto, etcetera etcetera, and ending up with a whole bunch of bottles that are half or three quarters full. I might be wrong though. moreResolved Question: Not wearing wedding rings?
Neither my wife of six years or I wear our wedding bands except when going out. I use to wear mine regularly in the first year but she never did. It use to bother me and I would ask her to wear it but she didn't want to because she doesn't like wearing rings. I can relate to this as my hands are constantly swelling and shrinking. It was either too tight or too loose, and I would take it off and eventually it was lost. I remember on our honeymoon I was playing water polo at the resort and the ring came off. I had it cut and re-sized and it started becoming too tight. I could put the ring on in the morning and it was fine, then after lunch it would feel too tight (eating maybe). So now neither of us wear rings and I often times worry what kind of signal that sends out. We're both in our mid-thirties but have similar youthful appearances. Me especially, I look like I'm still in my mid-twenties and people who learn of my real age are shocked. Then when they learn that I'm married they want to know where the ring is. I don't know what to say, other than neither me or my wife wear a wedding band. But I hate to think people at work think I'm a player or something. Then I found this response on a similar post: "The first impression: you do want others to think your married Second: you and your wife are having problems and are currently seperated third: other women think your single and try hitting on you(which makes you more tempted/able to cheat.) Forth: Shows you don't really love your wife. Last but not least, fifth: it shows that your don't want anyone to control you(come on be real) and that you control your wife. If you don't wear a wedding ring it is like saying your not commited to your wife." When you see someone without a wedding ring and you know they are married do these impressions leap into mind? I picked up a new band in Aruba and I'm thinking of wearing it more often but if I start wearing it and taking it off (due to swelling problems), wouldn't that look awkward. Plus since my wife still isn't wearing hers it again fells awkward to wear one and she doesn't. I have a holiday party coming up and I'm sitting here thinking that we can't wear our wedding rings because if I show up at this party with a wedding ring on then it would definitely look like I'm a scoundrel. What do you think? moreResolved Question: Advice on planning a destination wedding?

My boyfriend of 5 years does not want to go to my brother's wedding in Aruba in October. We go into a huge fight about on Sunday. We haven't really spoken to each other since. Here are some of the reason why he doesn't want to go: My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 5 years – it has somewhat turbulent at times. We have broken up a few times. We are back on and it has been pretty solid for almost a year. Well I asked him to go to my brother’s wedding in October in Aruba. He at first said yes (back in December)…and then last night he decides to tell me he doesn’t want to go (I have booked everything) because he doesn’t like my brother’s friends, doesn’t have much in common with my brother, and doesn’t have much of a relationship with my parents. Because we have broken up so many times – he hasn’t seen my family for a very long time. oh ya, plus he doesn’t like the islands – to commercialized for him. Does he have a right to tell me he doesn’t want to go – I don’t know if I am making a big deal about this or not. BTW – I’m 30 and he is 42…just to give you some insight to what I am dealing with… I did some thinking last night and I came up with 2 options - and I want some advice as to what I should say to him.. 1. Don't go 2. Since I invited you - I will pay for his way there. HELP!!! moreResolved Question: I won't be popular anymore, what should I do?
I have been a social reject all my life. Then I found this book, "How to be popular", read it, followed it advice, got new clothes and new attitude and became kind of popular. It was really nice. Then there was to be a rager party at at the quarry, but it had been raining. And all the A-list crown came to me and asked me to use an observatory - my grandfather build it for Kitty, she is the love of his life, and it's going to be her wedding present. So, they asked me to open the door to them, because it was spacious inside, and they would party in there. But then I heard that there was one at this kid’s house last year, on account of the kid’s parents being in Aruba, and they caused ten thousand dollars’ worth of damage. Someone lit the living room carpet on fire. With lighter fluid. They wrote their name in flames. And the observatory is full of sensitive equipment, and I know that they will damage it all. But if I do not let them in, I will stop being popular, and will become a reject again, and everyone will laugh at me again, and call me names. What should I do? moreResolved Question: Boyfriend is giving me silent treatment after a fight last night..please advice...?
My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 5 years – it has somewhat turbulent at times. Anyway, he got into a fight and now haven’t spoken a word to each since 8:30 last night. The silent treatment usually follows a fight from him. Any advice how to proceed? Is he ok to tell me he doesn’t want to go – I don’t know if I am making a big deal about this or not. BTW – I’m 30 and he is 42…just to give you some insight to what I am dealing with… I should expand and say that I haven't made any effort to talk to him after he yelled at me - we sat and just watched TV without speaking to each other. Today we haven't spoken - which we usually do. I think he should apologize - I don't think I am in the wrong here! moreVoting Question: Summer 2009 wedding colors?
My favorite color is blue. I really like "marine blue" and "aruba blue" to be my wedding colors. I have 5 bridesmaids. Would it be weird to have 3 in aruba and 2 in marine or vice versa?? I just don't know how to go about it. moreResolved Question: Destination Wedding gown?

Hi everyone, I need help choosing a hotel in Aruba. My brother is getting married there in October. He and his fiancé have been there and are having their wedding at the Divi Aruba. I have never been there – so I am torn as to where to stay. He likes the more Americanized atmosphere – where I like more authentic eateries and what have you. So he is fine doing an all-inclusive at the resort and eating the bad resort food…where I would opt for more traditional, whole in the wall places over that any day of the week…hope that makes sense?? I’m not a snob – I can just appreciate authentic food more than him. So I am trying to find a luxury hotel in Aruba – not all-inclusive. Any suggestions? BTW – I’m 30 and my boyfriend is 42. He is leaving the planning up to me since it is my brother’s wedding. Help!! Any suggestions are welcomed… (and restaurant suggestions too) Thanks!Or what hotel is better - Hyatt or Renaissance Aruba? moreResolved Question: honeymoon destinations?
my fiance & i are getting married on october 4th. we are trying to figure out where to go on our honeymoon. originally thinking paris & then tour italy. i've been to italy a number of times, but never to the amalfi coast, so that too would be new for me. neither one of us has been to paris. we would love to do this touring trip as our honeymoon, but at the same time, the thought of just relaxing after our wedding somewhere warm is also very appealing to us. we were thinking somewhere like aruba or curacao (outside of the hurricane zone) .. unless we waited a month or two to take our honeymoon somewhere like st.lucia or jamaica.. and just go away for a few days right after the wedding. just wondering what the suggestions out there are and what your opinions are.. would love to hear them. and if you have any other suggestions, i'm all ears :) thanks in advance for your help... moreResolved Question: i cant believe this is happening!?

I'm going to Aruba next week for our wedding. We have 35 guests coming and I need some ideas on good places to go. I'm looking for a few nice places to go and a few that are inexpensive but that still have good food. (Dives?) Thanks! moreResolved Question: Destination welcome/gift bags suggestions?
My fiance' and I are planning a destination wedding in Aruba. We would like to have a welcome/gift bag in everyone's room when they arrive, and I am looking for suggestions as to what to put in the bag. Thanks!! moreResolved Question: Is this considered rude as far as weddings go?
I have recently started to think about what I want to have for my wedding (No, I am not engaged yet, but my sister is getting married so all the planning just so happened to get me thinking) I always wanted a big wedding, but now I have something different in mind. Mainly, I want to bring the people who I and my fiance are closest to (immediate family only; parents and siblings) to aruba. Pay for them to stay for a week, have a small ceremony on the beach, and then my fiance and I can stay for an additional week. When we come back we would want to have a big party for all of our friends and family (like 200 people) at a hall. Is it rude to have people celebrate with you if they are not invited to the ceremony? moreResolved Question: How to deal with GROOMzilla??
Situation: He's American, I am not. We must be legally married in the US for visa reasons. My one and only demand: A Catholic wedding. His demands: Outdoor wedding (not possible in the Catholic church. Civil wedding in the States, church wedding in Aruba. His guest list alone is over 100 people (we had agreed on 50 in total). He's looking at fancy tuxes (we had agreed on keeping it simple and small). On top of that, he keeps wanting to cut corners on the religious ceremony and making jokes about it which really hurts my feelings. I have told him as much, and he assures me that he does take it seriously. And the icing on the cake, now my mother is starting to sulk because we are having a reception for the civil wedding and not for the church wedding. It's so frustrating! All I ever wanted was a small Catholic wedding and I feel like I am being sucked into a mega wedding that I can't afford. My mother lives on a pension, so she can't finance a huge wedding either. Advice? moreResolved Question: Wedding / reception place in Orlando / Kissimmee area?
My fiancee is American and I am Aruban. We want to do the civil wedding in the States (or rather, we have to) and want to celebrate it a little also so that his family can attend. And after that we want to have the religious ceremony on Aruba so that my family can attend. We want to keep both small, under $5000. So what I am looking for is ideas for a small civil ceremony, preferably outside, and a small reception in Orlando or Kissimmee. About 50 people. Thank you for your suggestions. moreResolved Question: So in-s / weaving?
So want to get my hair done for my wedding and am going to aruba for my honeymoon, so my question is how should i treat thAt section of my hair thaTS left out.. so that it wont break off.. so whats the best way to treat it.. moreResolved Question: Separate civil and church wedding?
I am from Aruba and I am marrying an American. I'm very religious and he is not, so it is important to me to have the church wedding here at my church. Also so that my family can be there. Of course, he also wants his family to be part of our wedding, so I thought we could do a civil ceremony in the States, in a nice outdoors setting (beach or park or something like that) with a nice reception, and then do the church ceremony here, with a little get together for my family. Do you think this is a good idea? According to our customs it is perfectly normal, but I asked a question about this on here before and someone said that Americans look down on civil ceremonies, something about it being seen as poor taste, or as if the wedding was not important or that you were not able to afford a big wedding. I don't want to offend anyone, especially not my fiance's family. But since they do not much care for religion, I thought this was the perfect solution. Any thoughts? This is what was told to me before on this forum: Unfortunately, in the states having a civil wedding is actually frowned upon. It shows that either the couple didn't have enough money, they're doing it because their parents disapprove, or its a second/third marriage and it's not that big a deal. moreResolved Question: Is it legal for an officiant from USA to perform a wedding in another country?
We are getting married in Aruba, which requires you to wed at town hall. I would like to get married on the beach in front of my family instead of having to get married at TH and then have a ceremony/reception the next day. So I want to know if it would be legal if I flew in the officiant my family uses for christenings and weddings to wed us on the beach. Where would I find this information? moreResolved Question: Aruba destination wedding eagle or palm beach?
I am getting married in Aruba in Oct 2008 and have read several trip advisor members say eagle beach is much better then the high rise section in palm beach. We dont have a lot of money, but want to have a wedding and honeymoon all in one. Does anyone know of any resorts that are beautiful and somewhat inexpensive? I know we need to get passports and also would like something child friendly so our child can be there. A cruise is not an option, we took one and we were sea sick the whole time. We were thinking jamaica, domican republic, cancun, aruba...etc. Any ideas would help me a ton. Thanks moreResolved Question: Wedding/Engagement Memory Mosaic Mirrors.. Help?
I do pretty elaborate mosaic mirrors that incorporate memorabilia from a shower, wedding, engagement, or whatever the event. My current project is an engagement. The client is in California.. I am on the opposite coast. I don't know the couple. All I know is where they got engaged (Aruba) and what they do etc. I can pretty much mosaic anything into a mirror frame in some way or another. Can you give me suggestions on what may be incorporated.. Bear in mind that I can even put in photos or paper. I have included: logos from the restaurant they got engaged at, photos of engagement, keychain that was incorporated in the engagement... anything else you can think of? It can even have to do with their lives but it can't be something they will do for us because it is a surprise... thanks for any help you can give.. and P.S. please think what you'd want in yours! they'd probably think the same way.By the way.. i've gone so far as to cut a champagne bottle in half and mosaic it into the frame.. I've put Italian wording in the frames because a honeymoon was in Italy. Don't hold back.. I can find a way to do anything.. thanks!! moreResolved Question: September Carribean Honeymoon advice needed?
I am getting married in September; my fiancee and I want to go to a Caribbean Island or Mexico. I keep hearing horror stories about Caribbean weather for that time of year, which I was aware of. September is the best time for us to get married and we want our Honeymoon immediately after our wedding. Seems like it is truly a crap shoot (for lack of a better word) for anywhere I have researched so far weather wise. Besides for over-priced Aruba- can any seasoned Caribbean traveler console me and guide me of where I should be looking into for this much anticipated event? moreResolved Question: Is he cheating? Continued?
After our new years discussion, he committed to telling me when he heard from her, she lives in a different state. As a family we took a trip to Aruba, he claimed he called her and said he was going with his kids and "spouse" (never called me that before) and felt good about himself that he told her he was with me. Remember he met her in Sept. and this is now Dec. when the trip happened. I found out about her before new years. At news years time he also told me she was coming to our state for vacation in Feb. I remembered this. She called him 2/22 from airport in our town, he could not see her as he was out of town. This past Wed. he had to travel by car. He set up a lunch meeting with her at a favorite rest. of ours. Claims all they did was talk, she flirts with him saying how hot he is etc. They hugged and he kissed her on the lips like a sisiter. I knew non of this until the next day. Had sick feeling intution all day and asked on Thurs. He lied and lied until came clean. moreResolved Question: Destination Wedding in Aruba?
