Hi guys, I'm an Australian resident and passport holder and I've been to Canada 3 times and am in the early stages of planning another trip to Canada A couple of Canadian friends and i are planning on going to the Carribbean, That means i would be flying into Toronto on a non stop flight from Hong Kong spending approx 5 days for me to rest up, We would then be heading down to Aruba/Curacao for 2 weeks and i would then fly back into Canada and stay for approx another 5 days before beginning the LONG flight home to melbourne! So my question is will a normal tourist visa entitle me to leave Canada and re-enter within the 3 month period issued on those visas, Or should i apply for a multi entry visa? My wife and I have been to Aruba, Jamaica, Cancun, and Costa Rica. We are trying to decide between trying something new or going back to Aruba. We are currently looking into St. Martin mostly, but will consider alternate suggestions. The things we love about Aruba: Direct, nonstop flights from DC; it's relatively safe - you don't see guys walking around with machine guns patrolling the borders of your hotel/compound; Awesome restaurants and food; beautiful beaches and snorkeling; excellent bus system-cheap and easy so you don't need a rental car; plus casinos and nightlife. We are looking at St.Martin because they also have direct flights from DC, but we will consider other destinations too. Does anyone have an opinion on where we should go?Yes, we've been to the Mediterranean and would love to go back but airfare right now is a bit outrageous. Mallorca is our dream retirement destination! moreResolved Question: will my 17 month old be ok if i leave him for 4 days?

PERTH, SYDNEY, BOGATA, ARUBA, SAO PAOLO possibly japan and poland as well..... moreResolved Question: What's the best spot for a Caribbean vacation, bang-for-your-buck-wise?
The girlfriend and I are looking for a 5-7 day Caribbean excursion. There are so many options on the table we feel we are spreading ourselves too thin in our search, so we'd like to narrow. Here's what we are looking for (in order of importance): 1) A price tag under $1600 when all is said and done. (Flight, hotel, food/drink, activities...everything) 2) Beautiful, not-too-crowded beaches with clean, clear water. Access to secluded areas, and kid-free beaches would be great. 3) A variety of activities. While the greater part of this trip will be beach relaxing, we definitely want a couple days of adventure. Specifically: snorkeling/diving, jungle tours/hiking, rafting/tubing, ruins and landmarks, off-roading, fishing, etc, etc. I'm a nature boy, so I'm more interested in off-the-beaten-path stuff as opposed to cookie cutter tourist trap stuff. We want nice amenities, but don't require 5 star. We are 31/26, so are down with a bit of nightlife, but aren't going crazy. If anyone has suggestions on destinations, and maybe even resorts or regions within those destinations, we would greatly appreciate the advice. Also, recs on where NOT to go are also great. Here is our current, broad list: Costa Rica Belize Riviera Maya Aruba Puerto Rico Bay Islands (Honduras) Virgin Gorda (Little Dix Bay) Turks and Caicos Bahamas US Virgin Islands Jamaica Dominican Republic Trinidad/Tobago Feel free to talk up or talk down these spots or add to the list. Thanks in advance! moreResolved Question: What is the cheapest way to costa rica?
How can I get there with $150 from Charlotte, North Carolina, US? Don't say its not possible because I can get to Aruba with $146 flight. I checked every website and the cheapest tickets are always $300 So train, bus lines, ect.. thanks. moreResolved Question: if i am travelling from india ti aruba my flights stops at newark do i need american visa?
i am travelling to aruba my flights are from newyork miami and aruba do i need visa for america moreResolved Question: best carribbean cruise itinerary?
I am considering taking a caribbean cruise to eastern or southern carribean. I already have done a western, so I know I want to do a different region. My husband and I are in our mid-20s and we live in south florida. We like to snorkel and are very active, and also want to chill out in beautiful scenery and get a "local feel". We are the type to do stuff on our own once we get into the port instead of staying close to port or getting on the cruiseline bus. Here are 3 itineraries that work for the week that I am available to take the cruise: 1. Ft. Lauderdale --> Princess Cays Bahamas, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Grand Turk 2. San Juan Puerto Rico --> St. Thomas, Dominica, Grenada, Bonaire, Aruba 3. San Juan Puerto Rico --> St. Thomas, Tortola, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados The cruises are basically the same price and all 1 week long and they are all on Princess which we have been on before. Basically I want to know if the southern itineraries aer worth it to do the extra flight to San Juan when we could otherwise just drive 20 minutes to the port to get on the boat (from the Ft. Lauderdale Cruise), and if so which one sounds the best? moreResolved Question: I want to go someplace warm in February - 1 week only - not expensive.?
Traveling from New England. Would like to get out of the country - but don't want a really long flight - or series of flights... Have been to Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaica and Aruba (not much to do there.) Looking for something to inspire us - something a little funky. Like to drive around and find out of the way spots - avoiding touristy places. No all-inclusives for us. Suggestions? moreResolved Question: If you have free airfare to either Cancun, Bahamas, Jamaica, Miami for a cruise, etc. where would you go?
Hi, we gave up our seats on a flight home from Florida to St. Louis and the airline gave us 2 free roundtrip tickets to anywhere they fly. We would only have to pay for hotels and food, or if a cruise, just the price of the cruise. We are 44 years old and are stuck on deciding where to go and what to do with our free tickets. Tropical Places Air Tran flies: Cancun, Aruba, Bahamas, Jamaica, Miami, Key West, and I think Cabo San Lucas. We only want to spend about 1200 bucks total for 3 nights somewhere. (This would need to include food and hotel/ or the total price for the cruise). We've never cruised before so I don't know if I'd like that or not. We looked into all inclusive places in Cancun that looked great but don't know which place is best. I checked out Atlantis in the Bahamas but that place seemed overpriced for about 1700 for 3 nights. We heard Jamaica has gone done hill somewhat and crime is a problem, not for sure on that though. Let me know what you'd do and where you'd go if you have traveled to any of these places. Thanks a lot for any information! SierraActivities we like to do: lounge around on a beach, sip drink at a tiki hut, look for shells, eat lots of food (seafood, yum!), take a little cruise to see dolphins or to go to a private island, gamble possibly, see a show maybe, but nothing that 20 year olds like, not too wild of partying etc. , more relaxed and secluded beaches preferably. Thanks. moreResolved Question: International Travel: USA to Aruba?
In about two weeks I'm flying from the USA to Aruba. I fly from Harrisburg, PA to Atlanta, GA for a connecting flight. My question is, will I have to go through security again once I get off the plane to get on my connecting flight to Aruba? Or can I just go to my next flight? I've never had a connecting flight to Aruba before so... I don't know. Thanks in advance. :) moreResolved Question: Aruba to Philippines?
My fiance is moving from Aruba (where he was living under a work permit) back to the Philippines. We are aware that he can not stop over in the US along the way because he doesnt have a US visa and they dont issue travel visas in short period of times anymore due to 9/11. I found a flight that stops in Punta Cana, then Amsterdam, then Manila. Will he be OK to travel to those destinations with just his Philippines Visa? moreResolved Question: How long does the flight take from Fort Lauderdale to Aruba?
How long does it take from Fort Lauderdale to Aruba? moreResolved Question: Aruba holiday..help!?
Planning to go to aruba for a holiday but i get to take only 3 days off apart from a saturday and sunday(which goes by flight travel)Is three days enough to relax in aruba? moreResolved Question: Should I stay or leave after the reception?
The reception will end around 11-11:30. Should we leave around then? Who collects the centerpieces (they aren't ones that we're giving away since part of them we're just borrowing from the venue) and who collects any gifts/the card box? The MoH? Or do we just take them? I imagine it would look strange with us grabbing our gifts/cards and leaving the reception. haha So then does the MOH just told on to them over night? We aren't leaving for our honeymoon that night and possibly not even the next day because we're going to Aruba and I'm sure flights don't leave every day for there. So help with the confusion of when we should leave and do we or the MoH hold on to centerpieces, gifts, cards over night? moreResolved Question: How do I book a package vacation without paying for my 3-year-old?
We are going to Aruba next month and found some great deals online for flight and hotel combos, but I don't want to pay the hotel fee for my 3-year-old and my 1-year-old. How do I reserve 2 flight/hotel bookings on a site like Expedia and then book the same flight for my kids? Any ideas besides enlisting the help of a travel agent? We are trying to keep costs down so that would defeat the purpose. Thanks! moreResolved Question: Can I bring home cooked food on a flight to Aruba from the United States?
Pretty much, I am going to Aruba for educational purposes. I want to bring as much food as I can from home. The food will be cooked at home and it will be stored in a freezer until the day of the flight. Can I bring food to Aruba? Should I leave it in luggage? Carry-on? Will the Customs allow this? When I was flying from Aruba to the U.S., someone had a bag of carrots and the customs said that she can't bring it on, does this apply if i was flying to Aruba from the U.S.? Thanks moreResolved Question: A good carry-on bag for me?
I am 12 years old and going on a 4 1/2 hour plane trip to aruba on friday. I need good carry on luggage for the trip. I have a big whellie bag for a blanket and neck pillow. in a little bag I have madlibs, a few books, a ds, an ipod, my cell, and a camera. Is that good? I also hear you need a change of clothes...is that necessary? BTW this is a direct flight. moreResolved Question: Is it legal for someone under the age of 18 to go to another country without an adult?
My gf and I are planning to go to Aruba for a week, a family friend has a hotel booked so all we need is to pay for flight tickets and food while we are there. My parents don't approve but I have money that I've earned over the last two years. I am sixteen years old. Is it legal for me to take a flight to another country without parental supervision? moreResolved Question: Which place is better for a family vacation?
I was interested in taking my family to either, Bahamas, Dominican Republic or Aruba. Which is better for family relaxing/fun, also safety. I want to be able to go out of the resort if I want. Also which usually has the cheapest flights (I live in Pennsylvania). Also, what are your reasons for choosing that area. my kids are 9 and 10 if that helps! Thanks a bunch! moreResolved Question: Holiday complaint, what do you think?
Dear Sir or Madam I have recently returned from a holiday to Aruba booked via your company. I had selected the holiday with great care after much discussion with your helpful travel agents in Birmingham, whom were very welcoming and filled with many great ideas and information about each destination. I had planned to take the opportunity to propose to my partner Mr Steven Gold aboard the flight to Aruba and to make the occasion extra special I was informed of your Premier Seats and duly upgraded to them. I had been looking forward to this occasion for almost a year and had planned each section of the holiday with care to celebrate this special occasion. The celebration for my engagement was at a five star hotel which Thompson recommends as especially suitable for couples. I was happy with my choice and was looking forward to this special trip. My proposal which I had saved for and planned for almost a year failed to go ahead due to the flight to Aruba being far from impressive, the return flight was also very poor. When arriving at check in, I was informed that our allocated seats were not next to each other, my partner was positioned behind me. I asked the assistant at check in politely if it was possible to relocate our seats in order to sit next together (left or right of each other or even an aisle seat apart). I was informed that this was not possible in a manner that suggested ‘tough it happens’. I found this rather upsetting as I had specifically upgraded to Premier Seats to ensure a romantic trip starting with my proposal of engagement. I also raised the issue on the aircraft to check if any seats together were available and the assistant for reasons why we may not be allocated together. I was informed that this sometime occurs due to the layout of the aircraft and that couples would have been prioritised to sit together. I find it quite insulting in this age that two males travelling together are automatically assumed not to be a couple, especially to a destination specifically advertised for couples. I was flabbergasted and found this factor very discriminatory and not something that I would expect from a well established international company who I have always regarded highly. I felt very discriminated against and very uncomfortable. My proposal to my partner never went ahead and my enjoyment of the holiday was spoilt from the beginning. I felt very upset with this and felt down during a proportion of the holiday this reflected on my partner who failed to enjoy the holiday as it should have been. I had carefully planned my proposal and was not informed that being a male couple would mean that it would be unlikely that our seats would be allocated together. I have yet to plan another opportunity to propose to my partner and after this experience I would be reluctant to involve Thomsons again or arrange travel through Thomsons in the future. In order to ease my feelings towards using your service again and to make up for the upset and insult I endured due to ignorance I would expect compensation proportional to the cost of the holiday as the entire purpose of the holiday was ruined. I would be pleased to have a response in 14 days. Yours faithfully Benjamin Gaunt moreResolved Question: All inclusive resorts?
My boyfriend and I are looking to go on vacation to an all inclusive resort for couples, we are going in august and want to book the flight and package together. We are looking at Bahamas, Jamaica, Aruba anywhere down in that area. We dont want to spend to much money. Does anyone know of any nice resorts Thanks moreResolved Question: What to do with a 9 hr connection in Aruba?
We are going from Curacao to JFK New York via Aruba next week and our wait time for our next flight is around 9 hrs. I estimate it takes an hour to get out of immigration, and you must be there 2 hrs prior to departure for New York, so that gives 6 hours of free time. During those 6 hours I planned to go out and explore Oranjestad, but I had a few questions about this "City" 1. Is it safe? 2. How far is it from the airport? 3. How much to cabs charge to go there? If you have any other recommendations on where to go, please do tell, just make it logical (for example, let it not be more than a 20 min. drive, we don't want to miss our flight). Thanks for the advice, and I ALWAYS CHOOSE BEST ANSWER! moreResolved Question: Could an ear infection make me feel THIS bad?
I had a pretty bad sore throat and was sick about a week ago. I went to the Caribbean for a week and came back Monday night. Ever since I got home I have been so tired and extremely weak and light headed. Those are the only symptoms i have. I went to the dr yesterday and I have a pretty bad double ear infection so she gave me amoxicyllin and something also for vertigo. I am still so tired I slept from 7pm last night til 10am this morning. I don't have any ear pain (except for the flight, which was excruciating!) I do have some head pressure. Does this sound like anything else, like maybe heat exhaustion? It was REALLY hot in Aruba where I went. The dr didn't mention anything about it but I can't believe an ear infection would wipe me out this much. When would you go back to the dr? I am supposed to back to work tomorrow moreResolved Question: Is a 2 hr "Connection" in Aruba enough?
I'm going to Curacao tomorrow via Aruba. I booked my flights from JFK-Aruba and from Aruba-Curacao, therefore it's not necessarily a true connection. This means we must exit through Aruban customs, pick up, and re-check the bags with Tiara Air from Jetblue within around an hour and 55 minutes. Is this enough time? Since this is not a connecting flight, I suspect if we miss our Tiara Air flight, it's our problem. Is this enough time, should I worry? moreResolved Question: aruba via jfk 2007 mix up at airport in aruba got home to find waiver tickets in passport reported to embassy?

I have a 9 hour flight connection on my way back from Curacao to New York. With all the customs/check-in and other airport nonsense, I would have about 6 1/2 - 7 hours in Aruba. What can I do there? How far is a beach/city from the airport? Is this with-in walking distance or should we take a taxi? Also, is it safe at all? Thanks for the help! moreResolved Question: I would love to go to cancun or bahamas, aruba, but i hate flying! how do i deal with flight anxiety? its bad!?

I am flying out of Boston to Aruba in May. I heard that 2 weeks before is best. Should I book now or wait? The flights right now are about $450-$500 per person. Thanks! moreResolved Question: Why do ignorant people only think that USA plays baseball and basketball?
Cuba loves the sport of baseball okay it's a national sport there and Fidel Castro was the most upset about the sport being removed from the Olympics as they won all the gold medals except 2. 2000 USA and 2008 South Korea. Are you unaware baseball is huge in Japan , Taiwan ans South Korea. Countries such as Panama , Dominican Republic, Venezuela,Cuba and Nicaragua care more about the sport then Football. Puerto Rico has a love for the sport as well (While they are a Commonwealth of USA they have their own national teams just like Scotland and Wales). In addition many a player comes from Mexico and Canada (which in case of the latter I dare say produces better baseball then football players) I actually do not wont baseball in the Olympics as I prefer the World Baseball Classic (International Baseball championships). To set the record straight Japan won the 1st ever world championships. In fact Netherlands sent a team with majority of players coming from Aruba, Curacao and the rest of Antilles though a few of the players actually do come from Netherlands. http://www.radionetherlands.nl/news/zijlijn/6215375/Dutch-thrashed-by-Venezuela-in-Baseball-Classic Lastly I can't even begin to say how foolish you all are for thinking only Basketball is played in the USA. From both North-South America , Africa, Europe and Australia the game is played by both men and women. Serbia, Croatia, Lithuania, Argentina, Spain and Russia are some of the countries that have strong international programs. In China basketball is one of the most popular sports (table tennis and badminton being other 2). Top flight players don't come from just USA they come from every continent. I can provide examples if you want. 2002 Serbia/Montenegro won FIBA World Championships, 2004 Argentina beat Italy for gold (USA had to settle for bronze) 2006 Spain won FIBA World Champion Ships 2008 USA won gold medal Netball came from basketball as an American teacher miss read the basketball rules. Only international tournament sport is played in is the Commonwealth Games. http://www.netball.org/netball.aspx?id=18 moreResolved Question: What to do at Atlanta int Airport when you need to wait for 6 hour for your next flight?
I'm flying this summer on Delta from Aruba to Amsterdam via Atlanta. I have a 6 hour waiting time before my flight to Amsterdam. Because i'm travelling alone i don't want to leave the airport to go to downtown. Atlanta is the bussiest airport from what i heard. Are their allot of shops, restaurants and intertainment in the airport?. Are all of these accesable from the delta gates or do i need to go to threw the security checkpoint to get acces to these shops. moreResolved Question: Wanna go to the carribean, but where?
I just love that clear turquoise color of the carribean. I live in Denver. I want to go somewhere not too far. Flights to Jamaica, Punta Cana are too long. Long layovers, 2 to 3 flights.
