Voting Question: Have you been to Montego Bay, Jamaica?

And if so, what did you think of their beaches/ocean? I have been to Jamaica 2x and stayed in Ocho Rios and the ocean both times (once in Jan and another time at the end of March beg of April), the ocean was not blue, more of a brown/blue (a little muddy), definitely not clear. Water activities got canceled a few times. My girlfriend and her husband went to Montego Bay in Feb and the same thing happened to her. My cousin along with a bunch of other couples and myself and husband want to try Jamaica again (at the Secrets Wild Orchid resort, it's opening in March) because I've been elsewhere (Bahamas, Aruba and Mexico) and Jamaica is most fun and affordable for all. If the ocean is not going to be nice, I don't want to risk it again. Oh let me mention, we want all inclusive and adults only. more

Resolved Question: Aruba - which hotel is best?

I'm planning on going back to Aruba in March. I stayed at La Cabana before, and loved it. I doesn't seem that they rent rooms for the week anymore though. So I'm looking for a place that is right on the beach, with umbrellas or huts, and preferably a kitchen. So far I'm looking at Divi Dutch Village Beach Resort, Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort. Which is better, or do you have any other suggestions? more

Resolved Question: Destination Wedding Questions?

Hi there, My fiance and I have started planning our wedding..well thinking about it. We would love a destination wedding in the caribbean. I'm thinking Turks and Caicos, Aruba, St. Lucia etc. We also have a 3 year old daughter so we would love family friendly resorts that have a lot of activities for kids as there are young children in both our families. I spoke with a travel agent and absolutely fell in love with Beaches Resort and Spa in Turks and Caicos...I can only imagine how much this place would cost! I don't want to have to ask my guests to dish out $2000. Here's my question, have any of you planned a destination wedding? Where do you start? How does the whole booking start with a travel agent...do you have to pay them while they look for deals and try to get a solid price for you? How does that work? Also where have you gone and how much did you and your guests have to pay? What is the proper etiquette, who do you invite? I imagine for us it would be a small gathering, I don't want anything extravagant just a nice wedding on a beach and a dinner with close friends and family. Please let me know, I'm not sure how to start this at all....lol Thank you! more

Resolved Question: Going to Aruba... drinking.?

In short: going to aruba and staying at the divi resort in a friends timeshare. Want to save a few bucks: what am i paying for a case of beer and/or a handle of rum. Also, is drinking on the beach with your own booze alright? And lastly is buying groceries and keeping them in the room advised. I hear it's really expensive. more

Dreaming of vacation ideas for a few years down the road. Would like to go to Jamaica, Mexico or anywhere warm and tropical. Thought about Aruba but was told to stay away from there. Does anyone know of any resorts that are for couples/adults only that have gambling? I love Vegas but tend to spend all time indoors at the casinos there. Would like some resort on the beach that has gambling available. Does such a place exist? more

Resolved Question: How to have fun on a family vacation?

I just learned today my family is going on vacation to Aruba in April. The hotel we're staying at is fairly small. If I remember right, there are 8 buildings, each 4 floors. There is a beach behind us, but my family prefers to rent a car for the week and go to a beach 5 minutes away. There is a little resturant and some shops in the resort as well. Anyway, do you have any tips for me to meet a guy to have a little "thing" with while on vacation? By the way, I'm 14. Please do not lecture me. I will not be having sex with this guy. Shoot me for making out with a guy, lol. more

Resolved Question: Sneaking a freind stuff at all inclusive resort in aruba?

Okay so within a month I am going to Aruba with one of my friends. We are both paying for the all inclusive price. However another friend wanted to go.. and it would be free for her to room in out room but she just needs to pay for the airplane tickets. It would be free if she didnt want to pay for the all inclusive. I have never been to an all inclusive resort.. I was curious would it be easy for me and my friend that are paying all inclusive to sneak our other friend if she chooses to go.. like sneak her drinks and stuff. I know it would be hard going out to eat we couldent but I dont see how they would notice if we give her drinks. That way she just has to buy food once in a while.. and maybe we can even sneak her food too by brining it back to the room. I was wondering how does this work. And how do they differentate al inclusive people from the non. We are going to the holiday inn sunspree resort in Aruba. Please I dont really care if its not legal. I just want to here advise from those who have actually gone to an all inclsuive resort. How is it differentaited between non inclusive guests and inclusive guests. And do you think it is possible. more

Resolved Question: Adult all-inclusives, which is the best?

I've been too several of the Caribbean islands & Mexico (Aruba, St. Lucia, Bermuda, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Cozumel, Cancun, Playa Del Carmen) & have always stayed at all inclusive resorts & love them; particularly the adult only ones. It is our way to travel. I'm looking for something newer & upscale in the Caribbean, heard Mexico is not safe right now for travel. Don't want to do a repeat of an island we've already been too. We are a quieter couple & don't do the nite club scene, however we do enjoy a show or entertainment in the evening. Can anyone recommend somewhere they been? Even if it isn't an adult only all inclusive, any all inclusive suggestions would be appreciated. Been all over tripadvisor.com & nothing grabs my attention. Thanks for your input. Please do not suggest anywhere in Jamaica as this is not for us. Thank you. more
