Resolved Question: How should i finish it off!!! i need a conclusion?

Aruba Aruba is a 32km-long island in the Caribbean Sea. Its land area is 193 square kilometers. About 81,000 people live on the island of Aruba full-time. The climate on this island is unusual for the area, it is arid instead of humid so tourists can expect sunny weather and enjoy their stay. Aruba was colonized by the Europeans, and the influence can still be seen. Aruba has one of the best economies in the Caribbean area, with low poverty and low crime rates. Their main sources of income are tourists and there are plenty of them, but most come from Canada, Europe and The U.S. Aruba has a diverse culture; there is some Dutch influence and Caribbean influence as well. The people here are mixed white, Dutch and Caribbean descent. The most common religion is Roman Catholic. The most often used languages are Dutch and Papiamento, but the written part of this language differs from the other islands surrounding it. Aruba’s inhabitants reflect its history of settlement, and immigration. The native Aruban people have ethnic roots in Arawak Indians, African, and European peoples, and it shows in the food that they make, architecture, celebrations, and languages, about 10,000, from Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America working in different industries on the island. The history of Aruba is similar to most of the Caribbean islands, having points in time where they may have shared the same properties and problems. Aruba was inhabited by the Arawak Indians until in 1499 Alonso de Ojeda, a Spanish explorer claimed the land for the Queen of Spain Isabella. In 1508 Alonso de Ojeda became the first governor of Aruba. Aruba remained a Spanish colony for over a century. Then the Dutch took over in 1636, after a near 80-year war between Spain and Holland. Then in 1805 The Britain’s took hold of the island, and stayed with it for 11 years. Colonizing was difficult because the land could not grow much and it was and still is small. In 1824 Aruba experienced its first “Boom”, gold was discovered. This first discovery kept the economy high until the mines stopped thriving in 1916. Fortunately, that was not the only “gold” there was to be uncovered. “Black Gold” (oil) became the new trade and industry main concern. In 1929, Exxon built what was back then the world’s largest oil refinery, in the city of San Nicolas. After that two more oil refineries were built on the island: Eagle Oil Refinery and Lago Oil and Transport Company. Aruba’s main sources of income are tourism, oil refinery, and trade. About 70% of their tourists are American. Aruba is trying to reduce its dependency on U.S. tourism and it’s trying to reduce the amount of tourists in order to save the environment on the island. But if you are addicted to the amazing and real-life atmosphere of the Caribbean islands this may be kind of difficult. In Aruba the newspapers almost never publish a weather report. They don't need to. With an average rainfall of less than 20 inches a year, an average daytime temperature of 82° a location completely outside the hurricane belt, and the constant cooling influence of the trade winds, Aruba is one of the most temperate islands in the Caribbean. And it is just as comfortable in July as it is in January. The difference between day and night temperatures, and between summer and winter temperatures, is about 4°. The rainfall occurs mainly in short showers during November and December. more

Resolved Question: Fox News watchers: can you condense a half year for me?

I'm living in Europe now, which in terms of Fox News is like living in exile. No Bill O'Reilly over here. No Greta Van Susteren. Best Answer goes to whomever can most succinctly and completely tell me what has been happening for the last six months (all I see are the headlines in my Yahoo email; I don't even subscribe to a newspaper here, and the tv is still a mystery.... and mostly in Czech anyway.) Please include what has happened with: 1) Is Bush getting credit for North Korea? 2) What will happen with Iran? 3) Will Condi Rice run for President? 4) How do people feel about Hillary abandoning her Senate seat? Ill will after she swore she wasn't using it as a stepping stone to the White House? 5) Fox's ratings were down: how is O'Reilly's show? Changes? On the popular front, a) What happened to Scott Peterson? b) Natalie Holloway (Aruba) c) Is Cindy Sheehan still getting press? What have I missed??? more
