Travel Trailer Air Conditioning Questions asked

Resolved Question: Questions about fulltime motorhoming/5th wheel/travel trailer living?

Do you always have to park whatever your towing or driving in a rv park? what if you're traveling somewhere remote what differfence would it make if you did or did not? how long can you go before dumping wastes and getting more water? would you say living in one of these in cheaper than living in a apartment? what about people with 5th wheel or traveling trailers how do they get heat and air conditioning? more

Resolved Question: Which will be hotter in summer: steel building or old trailer house (PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS BEFORE ANSWERING)?

Which type of building is hotter in the summer WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING: 1976 trailer house, poorly insulated, with a metal roof and aluminum siding, or an uninsulated steel building painted white, with windows and with a few turbines on the roof? The trailer house is not a travel trailer, but a trailer that you would call a manufactured home. Cheap, beat up piece of crap, with only maybe half the insulation remaining. Roof is steel or tin, exterior walls are aluminum (presumably). It is painted beige. The steel building is not shaded. It is painted white, and the only ventilation it has is a few wind turbines on the roof, and two 3'x3' windows at each end. Wondering about temps in each building with no cooling in either building, not a fan, not an ac., nothing. We're talking 100 degree summers. I know how to cool each type of building. I just need to know which one gets hotter under the circumstances I've described. Thanks.I live in the trailer in question. And even without cooling in a 10o degree Texas summer, I prefer it over a trip to Hades. :-) more

Resolved Question: Whats happening to this country, now that obama is running it?

Hes trying to tax the upper class more heavily, which is stupid, because they worked hard to get where they are. They shouldn't loose that hard earned money because obama wants them too. And now he is trying to use government run health-care? Has he seen what happened to canada with their government health-care? I read an article online about this woman who lived in canada, she developed a brain tumor and was told she had a 6 month wait before she could be treated. WTF? Then she came down to the U.S, and we took her in immediately and removed it. We have millions more people than canada does, so whats gonna happen if we get hurt badly? Are they gonna put us on hold? Also, my dad just told me that they are trying to pass government run thermostats in our homes, to cut down on a/c electricity costs. And if you run ur a/c too long or set the Temperature too low, it shuts off the a/c. that is messed up. You should be able to keep your house at what ever Temperature you want. Especially if you are an elder, or have a condition where you cant be exposed to certain amounts of heat. Finally, whats with him and trying to bann SUV's? They do use a little more gas then desired, but they are needed for people who own boats, or trailers, or for large families. If we want an SUV, we should be able to buy one. He already banned Hummers from being made because they arent fuel efficient enough. he is such a hipocrit. Gee, I wonder how much gas he uses when he needs to fill up his 9 mile to the gallon stretch limo he uses when he travels ANYWHERE. Or using crap loads of fuel to fill up his air force 1 air plane. And by 2011, he is going to pass a law that states all cars being made must achieve over 30 something gallons to the mile. Well, that only eliminates 60 percent of all car dealerships. Dont get me wrong, i am for saving the world. I do my share with going green. I recycle more then anyone I have ever met. Our electric bill is only 60.00 dollars per month as opposed to our friends whos bill is over 500.00 dollars per month. But Obama is just moving to fast with this going green.Yes, Daniel K understands what im trying to say more

Resolved Question: Do you think MTV's Exiled is real?

I really dont think it is.. I mean, first off, many of the locations would require the spoiled brat to get shots weeks or months in advance of traveling. they are supposedly told 12ish hours before they leave that they are going away, so this would be impossible. Also, realistically these kids would get sick if they went to a third world country from the food and water as their pampered bellies are not used to substandard nourishment. With a large television crew with them they could easily stay in whatever air conditioned trailer that they are staying in. To what degree do you think the show is real? How do you think the host family is discovered and how do you think they are compensated? more

Resolved Question: Which is better...???

Okay, my husband and I are moving across the country. We are driving his truck and hauling our small car on a flatbed trailer. Well, we have a cat who is traveling with us. My question is which would be better, to put the cat in her carrier in the car, with reflective screens in all the windows and the windows cracked, or to keep her in the truck with us with no air conditioning and the windows rolled down (also in her carrier)? more

Resolved Question: why does my chrysler minivan get only 12 mpg?

I used to get 18 average under any conditions but now only 12. I have 2 clues: A recent trip to high altitudes of about 7,000 ft netted 28 mpg and this all started shortly after getting a small travel trailer and towing it. I replaced the air filter, no effect, there is about 40,000 miles on the van. Engine runs fine with no warnings. Just lousy mileage and it is killing me at the pump. more

Resolved Question: Alternative energy?

Filming a documentary next year which requires me to attach a camping trailer to my car. I want to attach a windmill to the top of my camper to power laptop, port. TV, elec. stove, temp controls, (air conditioning and/or heat depending on time of year and location) and lighting. My reasoning is that a windmill would work due to the air flow created by the car driving long distances across the highways. Questions: 1. Is the construction of a windmill feasible so that it wont blow off and cause property damage and personal injury? 2a. Would a windmill used in these conditions (traveling no faster than 80 miles an hour) be sufficient to power a 12v or 24v battery to hold a charge to power all the items listed above? 2b. If not, would supplementing extra power with solar cells (traveling would be done during daylight hours) meet the rest of the power need? 3. Would such a small windmill on a camper violate rules regarding driver distractions? Thanks. PS - Plans also would be helpfulAlso forgot to mention a fridge would be included and possibly a sink if I cannot find a camper that has a hand powered one (sorry I don't have the camper yet so I don't know what material it will be made of/ bound to.) more
