So this is my first time personally booking a flight from LAX to NRT (international flight). I've booked my flight online and received an E-ticket. Resolved Question: what flights you have taken for go to australia?

Hello, one of my next goals is Australia and I can not wait to go. For the moment I am monitoring the prices of flights. From start easily reach the international airports of Rome, Frankfurt and Paris because there are several flights daily. Consequently, I have several choices such as Sky Team, Star Alliance and One World. If I had linked directly to London Heathrow would have more possibilities. I'd like take Qantas and there is a direct flight from Frankfurt to Sydney (it makes a technical stop in Singapore). In fact I'll see what I can find the best price. But back to the question: I wish to know what was your experience of flights you have taken to go to Australia. I would like to know the following information for feedback: 1) How much did you pay the ticket? 2) When did you go? 3) What s the company s air / and you've got and what flights you made? For example, Milan and Singapore with Singapore Airlines, Singapore-Sydney with Qantas .. 4) How have you found with / the company / and air / and you've got? The suitcases have lost them there? How long aveate during one or more stopovers? 5) Where you purchased the ticket? For example, the company's web site, web Expedia, eDreams, etc.., Travel agency For the moment the best price it offers Air China about 1060 euros per person. But I would like to fly the new A380 and I wish fly with Singapore Airlines, Qantas or Emirates could choose two outer seats in the upper deck economy cabin. Can I find a good price? I think so. Obviously I have to do this book on the official website of the airline, which is my habit to do, so I can choose my place to check in online, etc.. Then it is clear that bad luck can happen at any time, but to book a flight with less than 2 hours of call, well, it means find it themselves!! PS : Why many people says : forget Qantas, its bad company!? Thanks in advance more

Resolved Question: air travel after transsphenoidal surgery?

I had transsphenoidal surgery to remove a tumor on my pituitary gland on Apr. 20. I was released from the hospital on the 22nd and have been home since. The only lasting effect i have is some mild sinus pressure since and dryness in my nose since they went through the nose. My question is I had planned (and already purchased airline tickets) to travel to Boston on May 5. The surgeons assistant said no flight travel because risk of infection, but my ENT surgeon said it would be fine, and I've read online that two weeks is enough time. Should I fly? I really want to go more

Resolved Question: Has anyone flown Business Class AIR TRAN to VEGAS from either Milwaukee or Atlanta?

THIS IS A BIT LONG READ IF YOU HAVE TIME: Do you think that we'd be able to get a business class seat if we don't buy it way ahead of time but just try to upgrade exactly 24 hours online (Air Tran's rule) before the flight takes off. This is my problem. We received two free tickets for a trip and we have to fly air tran, but my husband is sort of a bigger guy, (think football player type) and we need a bigger seat for him. I hate for him to have to squeeze into those tiny air tran coach seats. Anyway I've seen Business class on Air tran and that would work fine and we could enjoy a trip to Vegas then. But the tickets are only good for coach and then the only thing we can do is buy the upgrade to Business class for about $99 each way which we can afford. (NOTE: But we can't afford an entire new ticket in Business class since that's 1,000 bucks and they won't let us use our coach ticket towards the more expensive Business class ticket.) Anyway the people on the 800 line said the only way to do it is to wait till 24 hours before the flights to try to get a 99 dollar ugrade to Business class online but it is "first come first serve" and if people pre-paid for the expensive Business class seats at $1,000 the 12 seats could be sold out totally I guess too, sooooo,,,, now I'm worried we'll have this huge trip planned , hotels etc.,and at the last day before have to cancel it and lose my free tickets since my husband might not fit in the little seats and they might force us to pay for an entire last minute extra seat for my husband which we couldn't really afford at $500 coach either, and Business class would be sold out. So my real question is: how likely do you think a flight from Milwaukee to Vegas or Atlanta to Vegas (or Vegas to Atlanta, or Vegas to Milwaukee back again) would be sold out PRIOR to the 24 hour restriction? The agents said there's no way to really know, but that usually business class people know it's cheaper to just wait to the 24 hours before and then do it online. What do you think from all your business traveling. Thanks if you know....ALSO is there a time of week or a certain month that a flight most likely wouldn't be full compared to other times or months to vegas? Or nowadays are almost ALL flights filled to the max to Vegas?ALLUKCAT, THANKS SO MUCH!!!! more

Resolved Question: Is he interested in me?

I met this guy during the summer and he goes to my school. We hung out once in july before i went on vacation. When i was coming back home, he chatted online when i was waiting for my flight and he asked me whats going on and i told him that i was hoping to get cyndi lauper tickets before they sold out, but since i was across the country, i couldnt get the tickets, and i can't have them mailed to my place back home because the concert is the day i get back from vacation. he offered to get them for me, and i turned it down saying, "oh that is so nice, but it's ok. i really appreciate it". he offered to meet up after the show, but it never happened because he said that things came up and he couldnt make it. He is a really busy guy, and he's always traveling based off his facebook statuses. for the last month, he's been going to a different city every week doing business in schools. The other day, I saw him in the library on campus. He was on his phone, and He asked me to hold on for a sec, and he kept looking at me when he was on his phone saying "i'm sorry's" and smiling. We chatted a little when he got off the phone, him telling me what he's been up to when i asked. Based off his body language, he looked nervous, and he introduced me to some of his friends he was around. very casually. I had to go then because i was with a friend and he gave me a hug. The friend i was with said that he looked like he gave me a "friend" type of a hug, and me being pessimistic, agreed with her. But then he texts me saying "A breath of fresh air...It was nice seeing you! :) " ugh! is he teasing me? I am really interest in him, but i don't know what to do. should i initiate a hang out? he had initiated several times before apart from the cyndi lauper concert, but we never got around to it and i never really said yes. Did i reject him unconsciously? Should i initiate? He is really busy. more

Resolved Question: has anyone booked a flight online with cheapOair.com?

ive always booked my air tickets at a travel agent or direct with the carrier but i saw a deal online that would save me $1000.00 cdn. The company is an online company called cheapOair.com..It seems a little hard to believe that I can save $1000.00 booking with them vs a travel agent or online direct with the carrier. I checked with www.philippineairlines.com but when i checked with cheapOair.com they have the exact same carrier (Philippine air) and the exact same route, departure etc. but again $1000.00 less...Im wondering if there is a way of finding out if this is a legitimate company and if there are any hidden charges they may not be listing. more

Resolved Question: Delta Airlines broke FHA rule?

What recourse legally do I have if Delta Airlines broke an FHA rule? Please read below. If you think that I should receive a full refund then please send Alex P. Roger at Delta.OnlineSupport@delta.com a message. Please copy paste this letter into your message. Thank you very much if you do send a email to Delta. I am hoping enough people will help me and in return help yourself if you ever have an issue with the airlines in regards to an obese person taking up your seat. I have nothing against obese people. I was kind to this gentleman, but I did not have a seat. And if the policy is that Delta makes obese people purchase an extra seat then they should make them purchase it. They did not catch this so now they should refund my flight cost. I understand there are obese people in this world. But Delta should have provided me and my girlfriend with a seat, arm rest down and a seat belt. None of these things were given to me after I paid for a ticket from Las Vegas to Philadelphia. HERE IS THE LETTER I WROTE TO DELTA – THREE TIMES _ I RECEIVED A RESPONSE THREE WEEKS AFTER MY LETTER- Dear Delta, On June 12th - flight 1236 - from Vegas to Philadelphia, I had a very horrific experience. I did not have a seat for over 4 hours. I did not have a seat belt on either. An obese gentleman sat next to me. He kept pushing his arm into me even though he already had half my seat. He pushed up the arm rest - against FEDERAL AVIATION REGULATIONS- and sat in over 70% of my seat. I had to move my girlfriends arm rest up, take off my seat belt and we both shared one seat. Neither one of us had a seat belt on the whole flight. It was uncomfortable and hurt both of our backs. We had back and knee pain for about a week due to this flight. The Federal Aviation Administration does require passengers be able to sit belted and with both arm rests down to comply with safety standards. Delta airline did not comply with safety standards. I told two different stewardess that we could not wear our seat belts and that the arm rest were up. They were pleasant and told me that they could not do anything about it. One of them gave me a twix for my troubles. I would like a full refund for both our seats-and voucher for both of us for a future flight. There were no other seats open so we were jammed together in one seat. And the back pain was very uncomfortable a week later. I am 6ft tall and had to put my legs on an angle to fit properly. Do you have a policy for obese people? The stewardess were very nice but told me that they could not do anything. They told me to write to Delta and that you would compensate me. LETTER I RECEIVED BACK FROM DELTA - Dear Mr. ####, Thank you for contacting us. On behalf of everyone at Delta Air Lines, I sincerely apologize for the challenges you and your companion encountered with your seat assignment on your recent travel. I can only imagine how discouraging it must have been when after requesting a better seat you had to experience such a disappointing situation. I am truly sorry your seat assignment adjacent to a large passenger affected your comfort. We do care about the well being and safety of all our passengers and strive to provide them an enjoyable and comfortable cabin environment. Please allow me to explain that we rely on our team members at the gate to identify passengers who may require additional space. Our policy states that any passenger who requires more than one seat for personal comfort must purchase an extra adjacent seat. Part of our problem is that most passengers now obtain their seating either online or at a self-service kiosk, and our agents do not have an opportunity to meet our passengers until they board the aircraft. (THIS IS A LIE>>> NO ONE ENTERS A PLANE WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE YOUR BOARDING PASS SCANNED !) However, in the event we notice a large passenger boarding we should attempt to reseat that passenger or request that they purchase an extra adjacent seat. Again, I apologize this passenger was not identified and respectfully decline your request for refunding ticket and compensation. Sincerely, Alex P. Roger Delta.OnlineSupport@delta.com Coordinator Customer Care AGAIN I WROTE ALEX ASKING FOR A FULL REFUND – Dear Mr. ###, Thank you for writing and allowing me the opportunity to further review your concerns. On behalf of everyone at Delta Air Lines, I am sorry you were dissatisfied with my first response. I understand you feel I did not adequately address your concerns. I was happy to review your comments again to see if there was something I missed. Respectfully, there is nothing more I can add. I am sorry to disappoint you, as I understand this is not the answer you were expecting. Mr. ####, again, I apologize. Resolved Question: What is going on? Did I do something wrong?

Long story, bare with me..soo this guy and i went to the same high school, and he's a year older than me. we were really good friends my freshman year, and then we hooked up about a week left of school my sophomore year. Then i went abroad to study for a year so we didn't date cuz by the time i got back he graduated and was in college and we didn't want to do long d and we didn't know when we'd see each other again, but we kept in contact. My senior year, he came back for homecoming, and then he was my prom date (he drove 2 hours one way to be my date), was at my graduation even though he was dating someone at that time. Over the summer he did a trip to a couple different places, and stopped in my hometown and we flirted but nothing happened, then he went to see his gf and they broke up (but it was mutual). Then fall of my freshman year in college i told him i didnt want to talk about us anymore. During spring break he took a trip to see his brother and some friends by a city 4 hours away from me, and without knowing i had planned a trip down there with some friends for the weekend so we said hi for about 30 mins. I saw him again over the summer for a couple days but i had been seeing someone during the whole spring and summer semester. then fall of my sophomore year he was going visit me for a long weekend and he made it to the airport but his flight got canceled. Then we made plans to travel during the summer (this past summer), we picked out cities, places to stay...etc but he bailed the day we were supposed to buy our air tickets cuz he got his grades back and they were BAD so he didnt ask his parents for the money. Which brings me to NOW: (sorry!) we stopped talking for a while mid february, when i was making a trip to see my best friend who lives 3 hours away from him so i called him to say hi and see if he wanted to come by, but since i couldnt invite him to crash at my friends place (id feel rude) he didnt come, but told me he was actually flying out to see his brother over spring break, who happens to have moved to where i go to school a year ago. so during the 2 weeks leading up to his visit he msged me evry day, whenever he saw me online and we sms-ed and what not. he gets here, and we hang out over st.patricks day, but his brothers best friend tries to make a move on me (he was joking but im not sure really how much??) and the best friend asks me if thers something going on between me and my guy friend and i said no cause i didnt want to tell him anything. i said that we had always been friends..and then i asked him why and he said he tought that my friend was more interested in me than i was in him and i said i didn't know how i felt about him and left it at that. next day i we drive back to my friend's brother's place but once there his brother's on the comp ,and he wants to go swimming so i say im going home to take care of some things...and thn i never see him again (even though i called about once a day, for 3 days). I didn't call him the day b4 he left hoping he'd call, but i figured he was just busy with his brother so i texted him saying have a safe flight back. close to midnight he sends me a msg and says he had wanted to have dinner with me that night but his brother got into a fight with his gf (brother's gf) and it was awkward and so he didnt call but it was good seeing me and he'd talk to me soon hopefully. i didnt reply two days later i msg him while he's online to say hi and he didnt answer. an hour later (11pm his time) he says he's gtg get dinner, ttyl. i havent talked to him since... at this point i think ive done something wrong, but i don't know what (did i not say thanks to his bro's best friend after we stayed at his place for a night? did i not pay his brother back for a beer he bought at a club, even though his bro bought like 5 in one go? is he not interested? then why did the best friend say he thought my friend was interested in me? he could've just said he wanted to hook up with me so wanted to check it was okay, instead of making up my friend liking me bs..if he was making it up..HELP? can't decide if i should shoot him an email and say "hey i was just wondering if i did something wrong, because for some reason i feel like i did, and i just want to know what it is so i can fix it" more

Resolved Question: How do I buy a plane ticket for someone from another country?

Okay so, I'm looking at paying for an old friend of mine to travel out from England to visit me in Canada for a few weeks. Problem is, I'm not so comfortable with simply sending the money over for them to book with. Is there a way I can book a flight online and have it set up so they can either receive the ticket in the mail, or pick it up at the airport near them? I'm looking for the simplest way possible. I don't even know how online booking normally works, as I've never flown before. Currently, Air Canada seems like my choice of airlines..although I'm open to suggestions. :) Any tips or help is appreciated! more

Resolved Question: Looking for advice on travelling around asia for 6-7 months?

Hi all, I'm looking to go travelling around asia next year probably Sept-Mar. Planning India/Thailand/Singapore/Sri Lanka/Indonesia/Hong Kong/Japan etc. If anybody has done similar before could you please help with the below questions :- 1/ I have found cheap flights to fly from one place to another Ie. Sri Lankan airways..... My query is if I were to book online, say for a flight from Bangkok to Sri Lanka, Whilst I was in Bangkok do they just give you a reference to present at the airport like the budget air lines do over here? It's just that I'm presuming if they had to post out tickets etc it would be very difficult to arrange if stopping in hotels/Apartments etc? 2/ What is the best option for accomodation? I will be travelling with my girlfriend ...... Is it best to look for cheap hotels or are cheap apartments less expensive and where is the best place to look for them? Also is it best to book before we leave for the next destination or to look around once we are there? Thanks in advance for any HELPFUL answers!  more

Resolved Question: What Do you think about Dr Phil Now ??

TV show epitomises anti-Arab feelings By Linda S. Heard Online Journal Contributing Writer Jun 6, 2008, 00:10 Email this article Printer friendly page Recently broadcast on MBC4 were three episodes of the Dr Phil show that initially aired in the US last November. They featured Katherine Lester, a pretty 18-year-old American woman who travelled to the West Bank to be with Abdullah, a 22-year-old Palestinian man she "met" on the Internet when she was 16. This was the second time that Katherine had flown to the Middle East to see the young man; on the first occasion, in response to her family's objections, she got as far as Amman, Jordan, before being picked up by the FBI as a minor and escorted home. The first episode showed videos of the star-crossed youngsters in Jericho holding hands and staring lovingly into one another's eyes declaring they wanted to marry much to the horror of Katherine's mother and sister, who shared the stage with Dr Phil. The mother said she feared the boy had brainwashed her daughter or was keeping her from going home against her will. Dr Phil made a meal of the fact Katherine's life could be in danger in the Middle East and said he would do everything in his power to get her away from him and back with her mother. And he did. When Katherine joined the show alone via satellite he treated her like someone who had been kidnapped even though she protested her happiness and told him she intended returning to the US very soon. Later, when Abdullah joined her, Dr Phil berated him for disrespecting her parents, criticised his parents for sending Katherine an air ticket, and repeatedly asked him why he hadn't been to the US embassy to request a visa for the United States. He then badgered the girl to return to the safe arms of Uncle Sam on the coming Friday and insisted he would send an escort so that she could fly from Tel Aviv airport. It was evident Katherine didn't want to leave and, in fact, the Dr Phil show bought several tickets home and sent several escorts before she finally agreed, only to arrive home to discover her mother and sister hadn't bothered to turn up at the airport to greet her. The last episode was the most offensive. This time Abdullah was on his own in the West Bank studio, while Katherine was on the stage. Again, on Dr Phil's repeated say-so she told a shocked Abdullah that their relationship was over and depicted him as a possessive stalker, causing him to remove his earpiece and walk off only to return a little later to ask why. On Dr Phil's prodding, Katherine admitted with a wry smile that she had met someone else. "An American," said the ecstatic Dr Phil enjoying this hallelujah moment to the full. After all, he had saved this cute American princess from the evil machinations of a Palestinian, who wanted her for goodness only knows what nefarious purpose, and the audience loved every second. One of their own had been brought home. No understanding There was no understanding of exceeding difficulties Palestinians encounter to get a US visa that would first entail Abdullah getting a permit to travel to occupied Jerusalem where the nearest American consulate is sited. And there was no explanation that the only threat to the girl's life while she stayed in the West Bank was from Israeli attacks. It was clear that Dr Phil was clueless. We were told that the couple were in Jericho on the West Bank, yet on several occasions he mentioned Katherine's flight from Gaza. It's certainly true that nobody really wants their 18-year-old daughter to take off into the unknown on an emotional roller-coaster, and I can understand her mother's concerns, but, what I found objectionable about the show was the way Dr Phil stressed that Abdullah was an Arab, presenting Palestinians and this region in a negative light. He even went so far as inviting Betty Mahmoody. author of the book Not Without My Daughter, onto the show so that she could warn Katherine of the dangers of hooking up with a Middle Easterner. She is still in hiding from her husband after 25 years, Dr Phil told his audience in an obvious attempt to paint all Muslim men with the same brush. That could have been you, he scolded Katherine. No wonder Abdullah thought the pop psychologist made him look like "a bad guy" even "a terrorist." Last Sunday, Abdullah had the opportunity to give his side of the story on the MBC1 chat show Kalam Nawaem, a sort of Arabic version of The View. The female hosts rounded on him for not properly defending himself or his culture on Dr Phil, and then he dropped the bombshell. According to him, the pair had married but Katherine hadn't wanted to admit this on TV. So the "possessive stalker" Katherine had referred to had actually been her husband. Congratulations, Dr Phil, for managing to wrest asunder a happy couple! The question is would he have done the same if the young man had been called Alan or Aaron instead of Abdullah, and even if he had, would his audiences have applauded as enthusiastically? Go on! Have a guess! All right! Here's a clue. Dunkin' Donuts has been forced to drop featuring another TV host in the Harpo (Oprah reversed) stable: Rachael Ray because she wore a black-and-white fringed scarf resembling a Palestinian keffiyeh. Oh, no! What would Dr Phil say? more

Resolved Question: Which plane ticket should I buy?

I'm planning a trip to Bangkok, Thailand this December. I've been checking out online travel sites for cheap airfare. The best deal I've found is on Asiana airlines... the catch is that the flight leaves SFO at noon and arrives in Bangkok after midnight. On the return flight, there is a long layover in Seoul for nearly 10 hours. Compared to the next best deal from China Airlines, it's about $150 usd cheaper. With China air, my arrival time in Bangkok is around noon, and the layovers aren't more than 2-3 hours for each travel segment. Should I go with the cheap-o guys to save a few bucks? Also- should I buy my ticket ASAP? I know fuel prices are likely to head upwards in the near future. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Best place for airline tickets? Decent airlines?

My boyfriend is going to be visiting me in July for three weeks. He is going from Hawaii (HNL) to Connecticut (BDL). Of course, he didn't listen to me a few months ago when I said to buy his ticket. Rather, he waited until this week to start looking and he's flipping out that the average cost for a round trip ticket is $1200. A few months ago tickets were about $800/$900. So, where is the best place online to find tickets on the cheaper side? I've been trying to look but most prices are about the same. And, what is a decent airline? I've only flown from Connecticut to Florida and back a few times (about a two hour flight) and I've gone on Southwest. I didn't mind them too much, but I was only on the plane for a little while. He's going to be traveling for about a whole day (changing flights twice), and in the air for about 14 hours. Thank you so much for your help. If I can't find a cheap enough flight, he might now be able to visit me until next summer. =( more

Voting Question: Is meeting a women from anothing country that I met online alright?

heres the thing I met this women who is from London, She says she looking for a serious relationship that will possiblity lead to marriage. She says she is a fashion designer in the UK but they don't pay her well there. she and I have been chatting on yahoo IM for 3 days now and she says she wants to fly the US to see me but she claims she doesn't have enough money to fly the the US. She ask me if I could raise some money to fly her to the states and send it to her so she may book the flight through her mother's travel agency. I offered to pay the full cost of the airfare and mail her the ticket she refused but she claims she can handle it better in her own country if I send her money. she says things like "I don't have enough for the air fare, how can we work it out?". She always says over and over again to trust her and have faith in her. I think she trying to scam me. What do you think? more

Resolved Question: I found a price quote on-line and I'm unable to purchase that flight on-line.?

i found a price quote from CLT (North Carolina) to SJO (Costa Rica) in the amount of $431.50 total (including tax and booking fee) online on www.itasoftware.com. the website stated: "If you want to buy this ticket, it's probably best to use a travel agent (this ticket involves multiple airlines, which can get complicated)." after the statement it gives booking codes, so a travel agent can get the price for the tickets. My problem here is the fact that i've never gone through a travel agency to book a flight..and i'm already on a tight situation with money for the flight and i really cant spend much more...how much of an increase is it to go through a travel agent to purchase these air tickets? more

Resolved Question: How can an english man know if a fillipino woman is true or just stealing from him for 3 1/2 years please help

My friend has had an online courtship with a fillippino woman for three and a half years, she keeps saying she is coming to live with him in England but never comes, he has sent money for her air fair and her two daughters and still she does not come. He has sent her thousands of pounds and is still sending her £130 - 00 per week english sterling, she says she will be coming on the 9th or 16th of April now if she can get a flight, she says that she has had her air tickets for over a year now and that they are still valid as she can change the travel dates on her air tickets, i think she is lying and i am afraid that my friend is getting ill because he is sixty three years old and works eighteen hours a day, seven days a week to send her the money every week, it is supposed to be for a house that they are buying together, i doubt it. He has only one photograph of her and has not ever met her in person, she must be living the life of a Queen, can somebody please help or is it a scam?. more

Resolved Question: Why don't US air ticket sellers accept foreign credit cards?

This is really just a rant in the guise of a question, but if you have an answer, please chime in: I'm a US citizen, and a veteran, living and working overseas. When it comes time to fly home for vacation, it's virtually impossible to book a ticket for a domestic flight, because no one will accept my credit card: it has a "foreign billing address." Once I get there, all the stores have no problem taking my card. So what's with online travel agents? Anyone? Thanks for reading my rant : ) more
