Resolved Question: what should I prefer? why?

I have following two options. Today I want to decide one. I can start to live my life in my hometown of India having my own house and so no need to worry for rent. My house (2 BHK) is well furnished with required facilities like furniture, television, refridgerator, gas, vessels, air condition, washing machine, kitchen etc. I know cooking and can cook excellent food for me everyday or I can hier someone for cooking. I have no car but have new bike in India so can travel in and around of my town. I have enough savings to be able to pay for house maid (servant) for everyday cleaning of house, cloths and vessals. I am still giving her some amount to clean my house in India even if I am in UK for job search. India has bright sunny weather always and so I can roam with bike always. I can always wear t-shirt and jeans throughout a year becasue of good weather and no need to wear heavy jacket or jumper. I can enjoy my own media and TV in my house. I can apply for a job in my field by living in my house and earn in Indian rupees required for living. Ths way I am able to live independant feel good life in my house Today I am in UK on work visa, doing job search in my field of study as wanted to work here after my study in UK. I came back here from India to earn back my expenses made for study in UK while my earlier stay. But today I am only able to live life in London by living as Paying Guest or by sharing a room in a rented house as I can't afford own independant house or flat untill get a good permanant job. I always have to wear jacket and jumper becasue of cold weather condition and so not able to wear only t-shirt except summer. I always have to work for 30-40 hour per week atleast to earn my rent and living expenses and then only in extra time I can try to apply for a job in my field. today both the above options are open for me and today I want to decide one what should I prefer from above mentioned two conditions? why? more

Resolved Question: Any tips on my EUROTRIP?

Hello. I'm 21 (female). My friend and I are planning a Eurotrip for this summer. Mid July-Mid August. We are planning to fit a lot in. London, Amsterdam, Rome, Venice, Ibiza, Madrid/Barcelon, Paris (day trip), Monaco(Fr), Nice(Fr), Mikonos (Gr), Freiburg (Germ). I'm wondering, are we crazy for trying to fit so much in? We are at the perfect age to enjoy, party, see, advernture and travel all over europe. Can anyone suggest hostels? Attractions? For 21year olds- what is better- Barcelona or Madrid? Rome or Venice? Which is better to stay in over night- Nice or Monaco? We want to party, we want to go to beaches, shop and see attractions. also EURORAIL or RYAN AIR? Thoughts? Suggestions. I appretiate any experiences, suggestions and help. This is early in the planning so we have room to adjust thinngs. more

Resolved Question: Cheapest month for flights to London from Ireland (various airports) during summer, (Long Question)?

O.K, So I'm planning to go to London for 2 days (1 night) during the months June, July and August. I have 3 options of who to fly with. Aer Arann from Waterford to Luton. Aer Lingus from Dub - Heathrow, Aer Lingus from Cork - Heathrow. and Ryanair from Dub - Luton. The problems that arise for me is that Aer Lingus is very expensive for me (I'm only 17) But, it goes to Heathrow which is the best and closest airport to London (besides London city airport, but thats out of the question) and cheapest and quickest for transport so I can have more money and time to spend in the city. Ryanair is the cheapest but goes to London Luton which is further away and will take longer and more money to get to the city thus shortening my trip and budget. Aer Arann is Cheaper than Aer Lingus but again, it goes to Luton (read above why thats a small problem.) BUT! Waterford airport is 20 mins from me so I wouldn't have to spend money on transport to the airport and I would get more sleep and more money to spend, maybe. So anyway! My question is. Which do you think is best to go with. Also, what is the cheapest month for air travel to London, how long is the tube ride from Heathrow Airport to London city center (by Madame Tussaudes or Tower bridge lets say) And how much is it? Is there a Tube from Luton Airport to where I said above, if so. How long? and How much. Would the bus be cheaper or quicker? (I doubt it) Travel tips and advices would be greatley appreciated please. Please try to stick to the point I'm on about. I cant fly from or to Shannon or any other places very far away from me, nor to Stanstead (very much to far away I think). If you find any cheaper airlines then say so. But so far they are the only ones that I find reasonable. This trip is just for fun with Friends because I love London, and its the closest and cheapest place for a proper 2 day trip. I know I'm kind of rabbling on about how I want you to answer this question, I apologize. best answer gets 10 points. Thank you in advanced :D more

Resolved Question: UK Vacation: Ireland, Scottland, Wales, England?

I'm planning a vacation to the UK and want to see everything there is to see. I'll be there for about 10 days. The cheapest way for me to get to the UK from the US is to fly into Dublin. So, I'll be beginning the trip in Dublin. I'd like to end the trip in England, probably London. So, where do I need to go and what do I need to see in all of UK? I know Ryanair has a lot of cheap flights, so I'll probably use Ryanair to travel from city to city, unless there are trains or a ferry where the view and sightseeing is better by train/ferry than air. I think there is a ferry that may go from Ireland to Scotland? Anyways, as many details as you can provide would be very much appreciated. I have no idea where to begin in what we must see and do. Also, where do we stay in these countries? I'd like to keep the vacation fairly cheap, but won't stay in a hostel. Thanks in advance!I'll be traveling sometime between May and July of this year. more

Resolved Question: The (PTA) Passenger Travelling Aallowance question?

Here is what was said in the mail to me. Its a person who is flying from London to Stockholm and stay 2 weeks: "I reported at the Left wing where baggages are scanned and passed through Immigrations; i was asked to present my passport and ticket and it was then i was asked of my PTA; i was just looking at them like a moron since i did not know what PTA means; they then told me its called the Passenger Traveling Allowance which all air traveler departing the United Kingdom and traveling to the United States or any EU Countries must show; i was then directed to the Immigration Unit; it was there that things were explained in detail that i have to show evidence of my PTA before they can allow me to board my flight; they said normaly it was waived before but since the incident of the attempted bombing of a Nigerian on a US bound airplane; they said the traveling security has being tightened as well as procedure has being reveiwed. It doesnt make any sence to me either, but these restrictions is claimed to be very new and because of that Nigerian "bombman" in Detroit last week. more

Resolved Question: Can I travel around Europe on 1-way tickets?

I am a Malaysian working in Norway. I am planning a little tour of France and United Kingdom this coming May. Here's how my plan goes: 1. Fly from Oslo to Paris by air 2. Travel from Paris to London on Eurostar 3. Travel from London to Edinburgh via train 4. Return to Oslo from Edinburgh by air I'm worried that for the trips from Oslo to Paris, then Paris to London and finally from Edinburgh back to Oslo I might experience difficulties at the immigration authorities because I'll be holding 1-way tickets instead of return tickets. Can anyone advise if my travel plan is sound? Thank you very much. more

Resolved Question: Will we ever replace Concorde?

The fastest passenger jet in the world flying supersonic with a 2 hour flight time from London to New York. The star of British Airways grounded and consigned to a Museum. And what have they replaced this with? A lumbering ugly corporate elephant, the so-called Airbus. Boeing has nothing to crow about, they turn out 747s as slow and cumbersome as previous models. No real improvements, just frills. Air travel used to be exciting and cutting edge. The idea was to reduce journey times, that was the standard by which improvements could be judged. Now we're concerned with profit, super safety and global warming theories. What a sad, pathetic end to our aviation history. What do you think, will we ever see a replacement for Concorde in our lifetime? more

Resolved Question: Are you allowed to carry mobile phones on flights ?

i need a definite up to date accurate answer on this matter. If i was taking a flight from London Heathrow to Delhi, stopping at Aman (Jordon) mid-way, would I be allowed to carry on board tthe flight my mobile phone ? these dasy a mobile phone can be more than just a mobile phone, for instance on my 'thing' i can play 3d games, use it as a camera, surf the internet, manage documents , type letters, create graphics - its an amazing tool. So if making and recieving calls on a plane is forbidden, i wonder if i could simply say its core function is something else maybe not just calls ? can you or cant you take mobile phones on planes ? surely they must allow you to yes ? and what if i wanted to take a photograph of the clouds out of the window overlooking the wing ? in a post 9/11 air travel industry, i wonder how 'paranoid' ppl have become as to what to do and not to do on planes as well as airports. I was walking around with my mini HD JVC camcorder at delhi airport and some rude indian police man made me go into a room for 'questioning' as to 'what i was filming and what for ? what purpose ? ' thats another thing - is it now officialy illegal to use camcorder and photo devices at airpots ??? do they pose as security threat ? Are you allowed to carry mobile phones on flights ? more

Voting Question: can anyone help me to summarize this because i summarize it but i did low marks?

Baghdad wants to have its metro. Why? There are only three reasons I can think of why the government would want to spend “three to four billion” dollar on a metro. First: the government expects the checkpoints to stay forever in the capital and a metro would reduce the risk of getting robbed, innocently arrested, humiliated, insulted or accidentally shot at checkpoints. Using the metro the average Baghdadi would, at least in theory , also travel faster from A to B, because a metro has no checkpoints and the trains aren’t bothered by traffic jams. Second possible explanation: the construction of a metro needs dozens of subcontractors. It’s a golden opportunity to milk the state and become a member of Iraq’s growing army of happy millionaires. That’s why I think that the short second metro line in Rome, started in 1979 and applauded by Christian Democrats born corrupt, wasn’t finished even after seven years. With 4 billion dollars, one could also build a bus factory and manufacture some 15,000 buses that would use the existing roads, or lay down at least 10,000 km of tramway tracks and buy 100 trams. Third possible reason: the Shi'ite parties expect a nuclear war with Iran. The metro will be actually a bunker. Very few cities in the world have a metro. Because of the tunnels that have to be digged and underground stations that have to be built, the underground metro is the most expensive way of providing public transport. Perhaps the Baghdad metro could be built mainly above the ground – in Dubai I haven’t seen it go underground anywhere, while in London or Paris it is partly above the ground. (By the way, an engineer in Baghdad once told me that Saddam’s government was building something underground that was called a metro but seemed to have a different purpose; what happened to that tunnel system?) Nevertheless, cities where the distances between the work place and the home are long, demand a solution that will bring the working class or not so hard-working state employees almost in a straight line from point A to B, and without being stuck in the traffic for hours. Somehow the working class is very sensitive to spending more than two hours to go to and return from work, while its children don’t like to waste much time going to school. Metros are social-democratic solutions. Perhaps our overwhelmingly male politicians in the capital are displaying a rare insight into their own psychology: it is well-known around the world that the metro is the only solution that seduces males to use public transport instead of their private car. As an employer, I would welcome the metro in Baghdad, if only because I would get rid of having an army of minivans to bring people to the working place and deliver them back home. My employees might also arrive at work more relaxed because they haven’t seen one kalasjnikov in the early morning. But this could be achieved as well with a finely mazed, checkpoint-free network of modern airconditioned buses with curtains, driving punctually on “green gaz” or with electrical engines and on special demilitarized bus lanes – a solution that has the enormously attractive advantage of being ready in 2010 instead of 2020. Such a project could also be partly financed by one of the so-called international "carbon funds", funds in which western governments put billions of dollars to finance a reduction of air pollution in poorer countries. However, for that money to come, also for forestration projects or providing a quarter of Baghdad with solar panels, the Iraqi government would need to sign the Kyoto climate agreement, which until now it hasn’t done, together with the world's five other mindless states: Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and the United States. Also, we shouldn’t forget that a metro needs reliable electricity to build it and to operate it when it’s finished. Is there any government plan for that minor detail? more

Resolved Question: Help with EEA Family permit!!!?

I'll be applying for the EEA family permit to the UK very soon. I'm an American here in Dallas, my husband is a German working/living in London. I'm a little skeptic..Just how difficult/easy is it to obtain a family permit?! First: When I send in my application w/supporting documents (original birth cert, original passport)- do I need to send my husbands original documents as well? Even though he already lives in the UK? Second: My husband has a job and can support us no questions asked, but our savings are not very high- is that something to worry about? I already have a job lined up for me once I arrive. We have an address in London and with us both working, it shouldn't be a problem at all right? Third: We have been together well over a year and have spent time traveling back and forth to one another.. married in September. Would the UK border possibly look at this as a "marriage of convenience"..? Since we have never lived together or the short time? We have lots of evidence.. photos, videos, emails, plane tickets, marriage certificate etc. I would really appreciate some advice or hear experiences. I tend to worry and I'm missing my husband so incredibly much. It is definitely hard being so far apart..emotionally and physically. Mind you the air flights are not cheap! :[ If you have any advice/tips, please share! Thanks in advance! Jen more

Resolved Question: would you travel in europe by plain or train?

saving up money to do a european vacation culminating in enjoying mediterainian beaches in italy. So, what I was going to do was take a direct flight across the pond to london and then take the eurostar to Zurich staying overnight then taking the highspeed through the alps down into Milan connecting to a train heading towards Rome and Naples and then thinking of Ischia and Sardinia. The train would be amazing as I've never been to europe and the countryside and mountains would be amazing. The only thing is that you can fly with Ryan air so cheaply that it is tempting to just fly. Anybody ever do both and have an opinion either way? more

Resolved Question: I have to make a connecting flight etc.?

I've never made a connecting flight and I'm not sure quite how to do it. The connection time is from one hour and forty minutes from London Heathrow-Bahrain-Dubai. Do I need some kind of transit visa in Bahrain, I know I don't in Dubai being a british citizen and I've been there before. I won't be travelling with any luggage in the hold either, just hand luggage. Also I am travelling with Gulf Air, but the first leg of the trip is operated with Jet Airways, I'm not too sure what this means and what terminal to go to, the flight information says Terminal 3 but I looked on the Heathrow airport and it says Jet Airways leave from Terminal 4. But is it only leaving from Terminal 3 because it was booked through gulf air? more

Voting Question: Can you proofread my history essay for spellings?

Economical impact (negative) Aswell as the good impact unfortunatley there is the negative impact. In my point of view the worst of them all was the pollution in the air. But I think it was all worth it. Another bad point was as well as people getting hired a lot also got fired. These companies became backrupt as nobody needed the turnpike trust to build the roads anymore as they used the trains more than roads. A few more companies who went out of buisness are: Canals Horse and Carriage Tax’s also went up. Working conditions god worse and worse pay as more people thought I can pay these people less as they deperate for a job. Social impact (positive) This was used a lot and it improved a lot of things for the better. Thanks to the trains we got first class post because They could pile it on a train and send it out to the village, therefore it will get ther quicker. So people paid more to get there post delieverd on near enough the same day. They could also take daily newspapers from London and distribute them between the UK. As they could distribute papers throught the country people started reading them which gave them an education this is linked to politics and that how it started all out Tourism The train also had a massive impactof traveling. As it is a faster way to travel from A to B. This table I have show you shows how long it takes to get from London to the specified town. In 1836 they used horse and carriage and 1850 is steam train. Just look and compare the amazing difference. In This essay I will be talking about the impact of the railway during the industrial revolution. This will be the 18-19th centuary. The topics I will be covering are the social and economic impact, along with both views of the topic (positive and negative.) These will all be covered in my essay. Economic impact (positive) Lots of things came from the industrial revolution positive and negative im going to write about them both, first the positive. Econimical means money, jobs and trade. Some of the things that happened in the industrial revolution were: Trade got faster More people were employed People visited the world more Trade Lots peope got to try new foods, as the trains could transport the foods without them going off. Some of the new foods they could try was: Milk Vegtable Bread Fish As a result of this we got FISH & CHIPS! (a good old english dish.) Jobs & Employment Loads of people benefited from this period of time. Train track layers, for example they would of needed to learn new skills to lay tracks. Not just for trains but for the mine carts along the mines. This is how buisness men would make there millions more

Resolved Question: Is THE 0bama worth it?

Obama's Trip to Copenhagen Cost $1 Million or More Associated Press Last update: October 2, 2009 - 4:53 PM Chicago cost more than a bruised ego. Taxpayers shelled out probably $1 million or more for the president, his wife and others to fly to Copenhagen and back to woo members of the International Olympic Committee. A 2006 congressional study pegged the cost of flying Air Force One at $56,518 an hour. The Pentagon recently said it cost $100,219 an hour to fly the huge, reconfigured Boeing 747 without Obama aboard. The Pentagon estimate included more costs for support needs, such as maintenance. At those rates, the president's 14-hour trip to Copenhagen and back cost about $790,000 to $1.4 million. However, presidential travel requires additional spending, especially for security personnel and equipment. Also, first lady Michelle Obama and some administration officials traveled to Copenhagen at public expense ahead of the president. The Copenhagen trip was not devoted entirely to the Olympics bid. Obama spent 25 minutes conferring with Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal, his top Afghan war commander. McChrystal had been in London for a speech, and he made the relatively short trip to Denmark to meet with Obama. http://www.startribune.com/politics/63323192.html Chicago 2016 Olympic Games Barack Hussein Obama Mm, mmm, mm! more

Resolved Question: International air travel - document requirements?

If a Lebanese national is in Canada on an expired work visa and has lost his Lebanese passport are there any other documents that he could obtain to travel from Canada to Germany via London and then from Germany to Canada via Cuba? Or is the passport essential? Would this person need to remain in Canada until a passport could be obtained? Would Canada even let him back in considering his visa and temp SIN are expired and he has been denied refugee status or would he have to to reapply for a new work visa before being permitted entrance? more

Resolved Question: Travelling to Space in a Hot-Air Balloon?

I'm building my very own Hot Air Balloon and when it's complete, I'll continuously apply as much hot air as necessary till I find myself in Space. I thought I don't have the resources and the time to become a professional astronaut and join NASA, and, most importantly, why does NASA spend billions of dollars building "Discovery" shuttle and launching it into Space, when I can actually fly to Space from my very own garden in London without asking for anyone's permission? I just want to make sure it's legal and I'm not arrested by the police once I descent back to Earth. I want to go into the thermosphere (600 km. above Earth) and spend there a few hours and watch our blue planet from high above, and then come back to Earth. I know that the ascent will be very easy, as I use Hot Air Balloons all the time. It's very simple: raising the air temperature inside the envelope makes it lighter than the surrounding (ambient) air. The balloon floats because of the buoyant force exerted on it. This force is the same force that acts on objects when they are in water and is described by Archimedes' principle. So, I've calculated that by continuously going up and up, I will enter Space in about 2 hour's time. My primary concern is this: is there any law which regulates the traffic up there in Space? What if my balloon interferes with the satellites or ISS (International Space Station)? Can the authorities on Earth later on prosecute me for "reckless driving" (or "reckless flying", as the case may be) ??? Also, since my departure point is London, England, and our planet rotates, is it possible, that once I start my descend, I'll land in some entirely different country, and can I be prosecuted for this? more

because in a tenor theres a longer distance for the air to travel or somethig like that: a guy in the london branch of Sax told me. Resolved Question: HONEY THIS IS ALL ABOUT MY LIFE WITH LOVE AND TRUST?

Dearest one am happy to read from you once again. I hope you received my pictures. In this Refugee camp we can only go out on permission of the camp (Reverend chars Stanley) and its like one staying in the prison because you do not have freedom of your own. I hope by Gods grace i will come out of here soon if everything works out well between me and you together. I will like to come over to your country and start a new life and go back to school. I don't have any relatives now whom i can go to because they all ran away in the middle of the war in my country. The only person i have now is ( Rev chars Stanley ) who is in charge of the camp welfare. I stay in the women's hostel because the camp have two hostels and you can reach me on the telephone through his number (+221772159544) . If you call just tell Reverend chars that you want to speak with me( the girl that came from Sudan ), he will send for me in the hostel to come and answer your call, As a refugee here i don't have any right or privilege to work or engage in any business or financial matters, be it money or whatever because it is against the law of this country. I think the little I have known about you gives me confidence now to give you more information about me with the hope that you will truly help me out,my late father deposited some money in one of the banks in London i keep this secret to people so that my life will not involve since is money , I have my late father's bank account papers here with me which i will send to you later if you are ready and capable to help me as a trustee to claim the money because the bank has given me a condition to release the money to me as the legal next of kin. When my father was alive he deposited some amount of money in because my father used my name as the next of kin. The amount is $5.7(Five Million Seven Hundred Thousand US Dollars). So i will like you to help me transfer this money to your account and from it you will send some money for me to get my traveling documents and air ticket to come over to meet with you. I will give all the necessary information about the money and will introduce directly to the bank manager for discussion because the manager is waiting for me now to present my trustee so that they release this money for me. I have booked a flight to leave London on 29th November to go to Bangkok, Leave Bangkok on February 10th to fly to Cairns in Australia where I will travel on the Oz experience bus down the east coast stopping along the way to Sydney. I am 27 and this will be my first time travelling anywhere on my own, I am very excited but also a bit anxious and nervous. I am planning to spend 3 nights in Bangkok before heading south to Koh Samui for a few weeks and then I want to spend new years eve on Koh Phanang at the full moon party. I also hope to go to Krabi, Koh Phi Phi, Langkawi and if I fancy it then more of Malaysia. I have also heard about a place called Ko Lipe which sounds good. After Malaysia I could go back north to Vietnam or Cambodia as I am planning on gettin an air asia flight back to Bangkok from Kuala Lumpar. I am hoping to take about £4500 away with me and then work in on my way to Sydney if my money runs out before I get there and then I have a friend in Sydney who I can stay with for a bit and work to earn more money before moving on. I have been granted my Australian working visa. I would appreciate advice on places and things people think I should experience and if anyone has been on the Oz experience bus before I would like to hear about it. Also do you think £4500 will last me to Sydney, obviously I don't know the date I will get to Sydney but I don't really want to rush there.... more

Resolved Question: What I can't tell if I'm being scammed or not.?

So we've been emailing each other a little talking about ourselves (and I've been vague, not giving my hometown, phone number, full name, etc) and she told me this story about living in a church overseas as a refugee. She told me something about wanting me to contact a bank in London and have them wire money from her account and into mine here in the USA so I can help her get air plane tickets and travel papers so she can come live her. The whole thing sounds really fishing and I'm not sure what to make of it. Also on all the emails she sends me there's these weird blue lines that appear. Resolved Question: Michael Moore movie-Sicko. Have you seen it?

I watched it last night. It seems pretty valid to me. I have some very sick people in my life, so it struck a cord with me. I also have a cousin that doesn't deny that socialized medicine works as he is very well traveled from being in the Air Force for so long. I also have had friends from Canada and London who swear by it. What did you think about this movie? It made me cry and laugh. Can anyone prove to me that there isn't any truth to what he is saying? Or do you agree?Emmy, I asked it someone could prove it to me. If you cannot disprove the stats then fine. Your opinion is your opinion. You can tell me to get a life but you need one, because you are just ranting and not convincing me. I am asking people like you to prove him wrong-your not-and that just makes me think it is because you can't. What countries did you live in where they had socialized medicine? more

Resolved Question: do you also fear the coming total solar eclipse and agree with the fear in Asia re: this coming phenomenon?

Asia will witness 21st century's longest eclipse Map shows the path of the upcoming solar eclipse and the areas of AP – Map shows the path of the upcoming solar eclipse and the areas of visibility By MICHAEL CASEY, AP Environmental Writer Michael Casey, Ap Environmental Writer – Mon Jul 20, 10:32 am ET BANGKOK – A swath starting in India and crossing Shanghai to southern Japan will be plunged into darkness for about five minutes Wednesday in the longest total solar eclipse that will happen this century. Japan, which hasn't seen a total eclipse for 46 years, is celebrating with fireworks. An astrologer in Myanmar has warned the eclipse is a sign of impending chaos. In India, some pregnant women have been told to stay indoors to follow a centuries-old tradition of avoiding the sun's invisible rays. The eclipse will appear first at dawn in India's Gulf of Khambhat just north of the metropolis of Mumbai. It will move east across India, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan and China before hitting the Pacific. The eclipse will cross some southern Japanese islands and be last visible from land at Nikumaroro Island in the South Pacific nation of Kiribati. Elsewhere, a partial eclipse will be visible in much of Asia. For astronomers, it will be a chance for a prolonged view of the sun's corona, a white ring 600,000 miles (1 million kilometers) from the sun's surface. The previous total eclipse, in August 2008, was two minutes and 27 seconds. This one will last 6 minutes and 39 seconds at its maximum point. Solar scientist Lucie Green is aboard an American cruise ship heading for that point near the Japanese island of Iwo Jima, where the axis of the moon's shadow will pass closest to earth. Passengers paid $2,599 to $3,643 for the cruise run by Mayhugh Travel Inc., a California company that specializes in astronomy vacations, according to the company's Web site. "The corona has a temperature of 2 million degrees but we don't know why it is so hot," said Green of University College London. "What we are going to look for are waves in the corona. ... The waves might be producing the energy that heats the corona. That would mean we understand another piece of the science of the sun." Scientists are hoping data from the eclipse will help explain solar flares and other structures of the sun and why they erupt, said Alphonse C. Sterling, a NASA astrophysicist who will be following the eclipse in China. Man has been recording solar eclipses for 4,000 years, and even today they inspire a combination of fear, fascination and wonder. One astrologer in Myanmar, also known as Burma, predicted in a magazine that the eclipse would trigger wars, instability and natural disasters for the next several months. In India, hundreds of scientists have started arriving in the village of Taregna in Bihar state, where they hope to avoid the monsoon clouds hanging over much of the country. Scientists plan to study atmospheric ionization, geomagnetism, asteroids, animal and avian behavior and the impact on microorganisms. A team led by Dr R.K. Sinha of Patna University will study birds. "The researchers will observe whether they suddenly move back to their nests, sound differently and behave in an unusual manner due to sudden darkness," he said. A travel agency in India is running a charter flight to watch the eclipse by air. Some families have advised pregnant relatives to confine themselves to curtained rooms, following long-held fears that the invisible rays would harm the fetus and the baby born with disfigurations, birthmarks or a congenital defect. "I've been told to lie straight on the bed with my eyes open and to chant prayers and verses from the Hindu holy texts during the eclipse," said Sonya Chadha, a New Delhi accountant who is seven months pregnant and plans to take the day off. "If even a tiny sliver of light falls on me, it could harm my child." In Japan, where the last total eclipse happened in 1963, people are flocking to the small island of Yakushima, which is holding a a two-day festival with fireworks, dancing, grilled squid and cotton candy. The island's 180 hotels are fully booked. A partial eclipse will be visible in Tokyo. more

Resolved Question: a question about celtic fans going to away games in europe?

what causes the air rage?? The Mirror (London, England) July 6, 1999 A DRUNKEN Celtic fan frightened a flight crew so much they couldn't go on their next flight. Paul Walsh, 35, from Dublin, became abusive towards Aer Lingus staff as he travelled to a Celtic-Dundee game in April. Yesterday he was found guilty of breach of the peace at Paisley Sheriff Court. Sentence was deferred. Celtic fans' flight warning The Scotsman February 27, 2003 PAUL DRURY MORE than 150 Celtic fans were given a warning by an airline pilot yesterday after claims they had been smoking in the toilet of a plane travelling from Glasgow to Stuttgart. Cabin crew on a MyTravel flight discovered traces of cigarette smoke on the Boeing 737 aircraft, which was taking fans to the German city for the UEFA cup clash with VfB Stuttgart tonight. The incident came two months after Celtic fans were arrested when another charter aircraft, returning to Glasgow, was forced to divert to Cardiff. Yesterday's flight had been in the air for 80 minutes when a flurry of activity was noticed at a toilet. The captain made an announcement to the fans, who were travelling with representatives of tour firm Cambuslang Travel. He said: "It has been brought to my attention that someone has been smoking in the lavatory. The consequences of a fire on board at 25,000ft are too horrible to contemplate. "This is something which we, as an airline, take very seriously. In fact, we have had several people jailed for this offence in the past. Please refrain from smoking for the next 40 minutes, when we will arrive in Stuttgart." In December eight fans were arrested following claims of a smoking incident and will have to return to a police station in south Wales next month to face possible charges under the Aviation Act. Paisly Express 9th November 2006 Two Celtic fans are expected to appear at Paisley sheriff court this morning following an air rage incident. The men aged 25 and 33 are accused of shouting and cursing at cabin crew on a flight home from Lisbon. It is claimed at one stage, the plane's captain was subjected to verbal abuse when he tried to calm the pair. Minutes later, the captain radioed ahead for police to be waiting on the ground at Glasgow Airport when the flight landed. After the plane had landed safely, officers went on board and arrested both men. They were handcuffed and taken to Paisley's Mill St police station and charged.http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2008/04/18/air-drunk-abused-passengers-and-sang-pro-ira-songs-86908-20386452/ more

I am traveling from Karachi(Pakistan) to Los Angeles(USA) in Economy Class (and I will recieve my luggage in USA), but i have Two Stops and Three Different Airlines: Karachi to Dubai with Malaysia Airlines, Dubai to London with Virgin Atlantic, and London to Los Angeles with Air New Zealand. The question is how many bags should i make and how much should each weigh because every airline has different rules and policies about baggage weighing. I am really confused. Please give me all the details if possible. Thanx a lot. more
