Resolved Question: How can I fulfill these wishes?

I am 13 and am in middle school (7th grade), and want these wishes to come true #1 I wish I could fly in a hot air balloon. #2 I wish I had a helium tank #3 I wish I had 5000 balloons #4 I wish I could go to Kentucky #5 I wish I could go to Iowa #6 I wish I could go to Kansas #7 I wish I was more popular at school #8 I wish I could play the flute #9 I wish I had straight A's and B's #10 I wish I had a date to the upcomming school dance #11 I wish I could go to the circus #12 I wish I had a rabbit #13 I wish I could get a part in the school play #14 I wish I had a time machine #15 I wish I had a tractor How could i get these wishes to come true this coming year, as I can't afford a $400.00 balloon ride, and I am interested in trying to fly with balloons and a lawn chair, but need to buy a $300 helium tank, which I also can't afford, and I would also need an astronomical number of balloons, which would be expensive as well. Earlier this summer there was discussion of going to kansas, iowa, and kentucky, but this was cancelled due to the exorbitant cost of travel and getting there. Furthermore last year at school I got last place in a race durring PE, and I am laughed at by everyone, especially thos who wear that POLO, Aeropostle, Izod, Claiborne, Calvin Klein, and Ralf Lauren crap overprised designer clothing. I then bought a flute on what money I had and tried out for band as a way to get out of being laughed at, but when I played the flute, it sounded as if the gates of hell where forced open, and this furthered my lack of acceptance at school. My grades also dropped to D's and F's, and I can' t get a date to the upcomming dance due to my recent issues as everyone is calling me the biggest loser at school. I then saw the circus as a pontential escape from reality, but I couldn't afford tickets since I bought a flute on what money I had, and I wanted a rabbit, but my parents said no, as rabbits cost money to feed, and take to the vet. I then decided to audition for the school play as a last ditch attempt to escape being called a loser, and I got called the worst actor ever anfd the gave me the gate and asked me to leave the area at once. I think that going back in time and advising myself at those times is the only way to reverse this, but I don't haver a time machine, Finally I wish I had a bulldoser, as I wan't to scare the crap out of the other students at the next PE race by driving my bulldoser on the track, and I would be popular aain as I am the only one who owns such an expensive item. I need answers, don't just tell me that I need a genie, or a magic wand, I need a logical solution to get all 15 of my wishes. . more

Resolved Question: Unlce Julius and the anywhere machine game help!!!!!!?

ok, if you have played this Game called "Uncle Julius and the anywhere machine". Then you'll know what I'm talking about. I'm stuck on a quest. I'm at the part where I have to travel in the hot air balloon, and find the gypsy camp. I found that. I completed the blue and red gypsy style caravans but now I'm stuck on the orange caravan. The orange one is called the "Caravan of Arithmetica". I have to see if I can light up the equal signs by tuning the blocks. I solved the first and second math problem but now I'm stuck on the third math problem, The numbers they gave me were 0,6,15, 4. I have the regular math symbols ( + - x /). Then I have the numbers 4,3, 19,9. Then I have the last set of numbers 17, 5, 21, 29. I have to find out what numbers will equal up to one of the numbers in the last set. =( I have been stuck on this problem all day. Resolved Question: I'm a new travel writer?

I'm new to travel writing, but I've recently written my first travel story. Can anyone, especially writers, give me some comments on my writing so I can improve it, or do better the next time I write? Thanks Cave Life Experience in Cappadocia, Central Turkey ‘Cappadocia is definitely the part of Turkey I will never forget,’ says a tourist who is just back from her magical trip in Central Turkey. If you’re bored of the busy city scenes of Istanbul, you may probably want to escape to the less touristy Cappadocia. To say that Cappadocia is beautiful is definitely an understatement. It is a region of magnificent ‘fairy chimney’ rock formations and mysterious underground cities. Don’t miss: Stay in town Goreme. Then take a day tour to explore nearby areas. Don’t take the Cappadocia tour, since most places you can go by yourself. Take the Ihlara tour instead, to explore more of the region. Most Ihlara tour will take you to the Goreme panorama where you can see the spectacular view of Cappadocia, the Ihlara Valley and the biggest underground city Derinkuyu where you can explore as much as 55 meters underground. For those who want something more special than climbing mountains or going underground, try a hot-air balloon tour. If you are thinking of something romantic like the two of you going high up in the sky, you will probably get quite disappointed. In one balloon there are about 25 people. Up in the air, there can be as many as 30 balloons at the same time. Busy traffic! At night, instead of having a regular dinner in the restaurants, try the Turkish Night. You can just sit back and enjoy the traditional Turkish dance while having dinner (included in the price). If you are lucky enough you can even be part of the show and dance with the belly dancer! There are overnight buses that run daily from Istanbul to Cappadocia. They leave in the evening, so you can save the hotel rate for a night. However, if 11 hours is way too much for you, you can also take a flight from Istanbul, which takes about one hour. In Cappadocia, one thing you will find very special is the accommodation. There is no Hilton or Sheraton, but lots of cave hotels, or more exactly, pensions. There is an accommodation office at the bus station, but you can actually walk around to check out the pensions yourself. They are quite close to each other, and are very easy to find. Spending nights in a cave is a very special experience, and it is cheap! Cave rooms are generally quite cheap in town Goreme, and they have very good services! more

Resolved Question: what should i do for my dad's 60th birthday?

My dad is a sweet, quiet and very kind man from the great state of Texas. He doesn't have many hobbies except for hunting and I've gotten him something hunting-related many times for occasions. He is a commercial pilot by trade, so my initial idea to take him on a glider ride would probably not impress him as much as most people. My sister and I live in germany with our husbands, and she has come up with a great idea for a hot air balloon ride, but she wants that to be from her alone. My husband and I are at a loss... what should we do?? He wouldn't enjoy a spa day and travels for a living, so I'm not sure sending him and my mom somewhere would really be something he would enjoy. I can't think of anything, but he deserves something special. HELP!!There may have been some misunderstanding. My sister and I are not in competition with each other. We simply both want to show my dad how much he means to us each. He never asks for anything and is almost impossible to shop for as a result, so this is why I want to do something truly spectacular for him....something he will never forget. However, he is very much a "man's man", so he would not appreciate theatre tickets and he has been on cruises several times. He is not into video games and would not be interested in a new computer or gaming system. Do you see how hard this is? Ugh... more

Resolved Question: 10 PTS When poured from the box into the sugar bowl, the rubbing of sugar creates a static electric charge..?

When sugar is poured from the box into the sugar bowl, the rubbing of sugar creates a static electric charge that repels the grains. Resolved Question: Who wants a travelling life with me?

I met a couple while i was living in Sydney, Australia and their story was the best story i could ever imagine and it stayed with me ever since. Not as a goal but as a pain :) Like knowing happy people who have all the money in the world or something like that. Because i couldn't dare dream of ever being in such a relationship but i imagined it to be the end of the rainbow. They met each other in India, while doing some solo-travelling, fell in love and sat down to have a little chat. They both loved travelling very much and they decided; Fuck it! We are going to take what we can get! Now at the end of every amazing year they sit down and each make their own What-if-next-year-is-my-last-?-list. He wants to do a diving course in ... Yongala or something, see a number of other places and join the hot air balloon pilot school in ... America. She wants to climb some mountain somewhere, swim with the dolfins, visit some cave... and see a number of other places. i don't know. I'm just making this stuff up. Anyway, they put their lists together, put all the destinations on one line, and they go and do it. Moving from place to place, working on the way, going with whatever happens and making sure they enjoy themselves to the fullest. He's teaching her how to be smart with money, she's teaching him how to arrange things in the right way and find good housing quickly... etc. And they're very good at it! Now i'm sure this is probable naive and stuppid in some way or another but if anyone is up for it... so am i! So, i guess this is a "male seeks crazy, smart, adventures and beautiful 30-year-old woman" ad :)Travelling isn't that expensive. I've lived in Spain, London, The Caribbean and in Sydney Australia and travelled to many places but i never had much money. You just have to be smart and ... easy. more

Resolved Question: My mouse is doing nothing in poptropica?

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I just log onto poptropica click travel and my mouse just doesn't do anything, I can still move it, but it couldn't click anything. The screen stays the same, it's like poptropica is freezing not my computer. I just keep on clicking travel on my hot air balloon and it just doesn't do anything. Once, I finally got it working for 10 minutes in Mythology Island, when I got all of the items and went to Athena, she told me to look closer at those clues, but all I could see is black and a close button on the upper right hand side. Whenever I click items in my account, it just loads really slow. Once I waited for it for 5 hours and it just keep on loading! It doesn't happen to other people. What is going on? Is it my computer's fault or poptropica? Do you have the same problem? I don't think it's poptropica's fault because so many people can play it without trouble except for me! What is going on? Resolved Question: Okay, can I have some critique for my "new" book plot?

After much criticism for my last novel plot, which was a semi-serious piece of literature that followed the life of a lion that acted like a lion, although he did philosophize, which I'm pretty sure lions do not do, I gave up and decided to write something else. After being kindly reminded that my book, with animals that sounds like animals, sounds a lot like the writing of Jack London, who's literature I worship above all (even though the critic called his work "boring" leaving me to guess that he did not understand the full meaning of his works) and as the world does not need a twelve-year old's impression of Jack London, I decided to scrap the lion book and go for something readable. So, I analyzed the plot and decided that the reason it was disliked is because it was semi-serious, and had to do with animals that acted like animals. No one wants to read about that anymore. So I came up with a whimsical tale of a bunch of rats that act like people. As always. The plot is this: A group of rats live underneath a kitchen in some sort of busy trading town (maybe New York?) and salvage little scraps of food and such. They named themselves after the more commonly heard phrases from the kitchen (Hey You, Thyme, Ham, Boiled, Quickly). Chief among them is an old-ish rat (Name has yet to be decided upon) who acts as their priest, telling them about the Great Kangaroo, lord of all, and how someday they will dwell in the great land of Oh-Stray-Lee-Ah (Mispronunciation of "Australia"). Most of the rats dismiss this as nonsense, but just in case they, under orders of the priest, let him have the largest portion "to appease the wrath of the Great Kangaroo". No one really knows what a Kangaroo is, but their priest assures them that he read it from the sacred book of The K Encyclopedia, a moth eaten volume that is kept in the back of the cellar of which they live. When anyone else asks to read it, the priest hastily assures them it is not for mortal eyes to look upon. One day, all that they manage to scavenge is one bone. While the rats stand around wondering what to do with it, the old priest, who does have some memories of the past, remembers that there used to be a a way to make soup from a bone. Of course, this greatly excites the rats, who immediately want to go in search of the recipe. Not wanting to disappoint, the priest selects five rats to go look for it. These are; Basil - A very quiet gray rat that only speaks in palindromes (A phrase that is the same backwards and forwards, such as "Ma is as selfless as I am!" or "Rats live on no evil star.") Moonshine - After seeing how much this name is overused by people making lame warrior fanfics, I decided to create a character that is addicted to alcohol, after she accidentally fell in a vat of homemade liquor. Moonshine is usually giggly and dizzy, never able to take anything seriously, and speaks with slurred speech. Okay (or maybe Pretzel) - A highly "religious" rat that was a devout follower of the Faith of the Kangaroo. Hmm.... I need some help making up the last two characters and with character development. So, the rats set off on ad adventure that I'll develop further later, traveling by boat and land and once by hot-air balloon. I'll elaborate on this if I ever get anyone who'd want to read this. Alrighty. So, any help/critique? more

Resolved Question: Algebra 1 homework. please help me! :)?

Four steps to derive the quadratic formula are shown below: 1) x² + bx/a + (b/2a)² = -c/a + (b/2a)² its x squared + bx over a + (b over 2a) squared = negative c over a + (b over 2a) squared 2) x + b/2a = √b² -4ac/4a² its x + b over 2a = the square root of b squared minus 4ac over 4a² * note the 4a² is over the whole discriminant part (the square root part) 3) (x + b/2a)² = b² -4ac/ 4a² its (x + b over 2a) squared = b squared minus 4ac over 4a squared 4) x² + bx/a = -c/a its x squared + bx over A equals negative c over A which is the correct order for these steps? A) 3, 1, 4, 2 B) 3, 2, 4, 1 C) 4, 1, 3, 2 D) 4, 2, 1, 3 An object that is projected straight downward with initial velocity, v, feet per second travels a distance s= vt + 16t², where t = time in seconds. Rafael is in a hot air balloon 204 feet above the ground and throws a penny straight down with an initial velocity of 20 feet per second. In how many seconds will the penny reach the ground? A) 3 B) 4 C) 5 D) 6 please explain how you got the answer. thank you! :) more

Resolved Question: What was the name of the Children's show where they lived in a hot air balloon?

Okay so a while back i was humming this tune and was wondering what show it was off. I realized it was off and old show i used to watch, a few years ago. I racked my brains bt couldn't think of it and even after looking it up on google I still cannot find it. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I remember a fwe things just not the name... I think there were two children and their grandpa living a a hot air balloon and traveled around the world (I can't remember why) A lady and her assistant (A Male) Were always following them trying to get a hold of a disk containing a recipe. The recipe was for a powder (I think) and it enabled the grandpa and the children to talk to animals. They had pets and stuff in the hot air balloon. It was a floating house. In one episode they talked to whales or a creature in Antarctica and they banged on the ice and made whale sounds so the whales could help them In another episode the lady who followed them got sprayed by a skunk. I think the lady always (mostly) Flew in a helicopter... And i think the children and grandpa had a taking bird or dog or something. Thanks for Reading PLEASE ANSWER IF YOU KNOW THIS It is really bugging me that I cannot think o what it was called. P.S I think the hot air balloon and house were yellow or orange. more

Resolved Question: Simple Physics Problems? Help Please?

These are a few problems on a review sheet I have. It would help greatly if I could see them worked out so that I can do the other 34958732854 problems I have. If you could do 1 or all, anything would help me! Thanks! 1.Starting from rest, a boat increases its speed to 4.17 m/s with constant acceleration. What is the boat's average speed? (in m/s) If it takes the boat 4.72 s to reach this speed, how far has it traveled? 2. Two cars drive on a straight highway. At time t=0 , car 1 passes mile marker 0 traveling due east with a speed of 17.0 m/s . At the same time, car 2 is 0.80 km east of mile marker 0 traveling at 30.0 m/s due west. Car 1 is speeding up with an acceleration of magnitude 0.40 m/s ^2 , and car 2 is slowing down with an acceleration of magnitude 0.50 m/s^2 . Write x-versus-t equations of motion for both cars, taking east as the positive direction. At what time do the cars pass next to one another? 3. The infamous chicken is dashing toward home plate with a speed of 5.9 m/s when he decides to hit the dirt. The chicken slides for 1.1 s , just reaching the plate as he stops (safe, of course). What is the magnitude of the chicken's acceleration? (in m/s^2) What is and direction of the chicken's acceleration? (opposing or along with the direction of motion?) How far did the chicken slide? 4.On a hot summer day in the state of Washington while kayaking, I saw several swimmers jump from a railroad bridge into the Snohomish River below. The swimmers stepped off the bridge, and I estimated that they hit the water 2.00 s later. How high was the bridge? (in m) How fast were the swimmers moving when they hit the water? (in m/s) What would the swimmer's drop time be if the bridge were twice as high? (in s) 5. To celebrate a victory, a pitcher throws her glove straight upward with an initial speed of 6.0 m/s. How long does it take for the glove to return to the pitcher? (in s) How long does it take for the glove to reach its maximum height? (in s) 6. A hot-air balloon is descending at a rate of 2.0 m/s when a passenger drops a camera. If the camera is 42 m above the ground when it is dropped, how long does it take for the camera to reach the ground? (in s) If the camera is 42 above the ground when it is dropped, what is its velocity just before it lands? Let upward be the positive direction for this problem. (in m/s) 7.A vector has a magnitude of 3.4 m and points in a direction that is 130 counterclockwise from the x axis. Find the x component of this vector. (in m) Find the y component of this vector. (in m) 8. You drive a car 1400 ft. to the east, then 2600 ft. to the north. The trip took 3.5 minutes. What was the direction of your average velocity? (what degrees north of east?) What was the magnitude of your average velocity? (in m/s) more
