Open Question: Join the Military or stay civilian and peruse becoming a firefighter?
Okay, little background on me is i am 19 years old and turning 20 in march. I have attended community college working toward my Associates in Fire Technology, and will be completed by August 2010. Already received my Fire Cert "basically just showing i have completed all the fire classes." Already have my EMT, And was a Fire Cadet for City for the city of San Diego. Very Fit, and, Respectful "if that helps." Thinking of just volunteering here locally with some rural department within the next month. Continue going to school and achieve my Associates in Fire technology and continue applying/testing/interviewing till i get into an academy. Pros; San Diego is a great location, i know the city very well, pay is good, benefits are all great. Cons; San Diego isn't hiring for 3-5 years do to the budget crisis, want to travel, average hiring age is 23-25. My other option is joining the military for the forsure job. If the recruiter documents it, and signs it saying i for sure will get get to work as a firefighter i will join the military. So i do't get the run around for years. "So ive been told by other military members who went in trying to be a firefighter and got the run around and now doing something totally different or discharged and now trying to get into a city department. I think working for the military would be great, they have bases everywhere so you can work anywhere if there is an open position. looking at the Air Force mostly but open to ideas. pro; Travel, job security, military benefits, pays for educations "Looking forward to pursuing more education cons; Run around all the time"so ive been told", Train, train, train but no fires...... Open to all opinions, and answers out there need some help people !!! Oh yeah i plan to become a medic as well,Air guard, sounds like a good plan for me. It is similar to the national guard they pay you something like 400 a month, you drill every once in awhile? what other advantages do they give you school and what else? How does this work you can be in the middle of medic school, then they pull you and send you somewhere else and you have to drop the course and lose out of a few grand? moreOpen Question: How much money do I need to bring to Thailand?
So I am going to Thailand for 3 months and would like to know how much money to bring. Accommodations: I am a recent college graduate so I am used to living in non-air-conditioned dorms. That being said I can definitely deal with concrete walled fan rooms. My only stipulation is I don't want to stay in dorm style buildings. Meaning I don't want to share bunk-beds or a room with 10 other 20 somethings. I did it in Spain and nothing is more annoying than dealing with drunk frat boys and their skanks. I'm going to need a home base I can call my own. On the other side Staying in a fan room for 2 months could get old so throw in some cheap AC rooms when needed and thats all I need. Travel: Lots of it. I'm spending two weeks in Bangkok then two weeks in Pattaya then heading off to the Islands. Probably hoping between 3-4 Islands, then moving to the Andaman Sea to island hop for awhile then back to Bangkok to fly home. I don't have a set plan yet (trying to see how much money traveling will cost first). But lets say I want to have enough to travel where I want to go. No or I can't aren't things I'm willing to say on this trip. Shopping: I have friends and family at home that I'm going to be away from over Christmas and Birthdays. They all want gifts so I want to send them some things home. I know posting something can get expensive so factor that in. Other than that I love Thai culture and want to get some things for myself. Again I won't be visiting the markets every day but over the months I figure I'll run into some things I would want to get. Food: Not picky but over two months I'm going to have to vary myself from the street stalls sometimes. How much for 1-2 meals a day + water bottles and such? Partying: I like it. I like to drink and go out. I like girls and I like meeting people and being social. I don't intend to get drunk every night but I can't visit Pattaya and Bangkok and not get my drink on sometimes. So how much should I factor in to not have to strict a budget that if some new found friends go on a week long bender I can join. Extras: Again, this is a gift to myself before grad school, so I'm going to want to do some things for me. Massages, muy thai classes, and tattoos. On-top of whatever else I stumble upon. All that being said, I am going to be on a budget. So I realize that I can't be eating at grand places, going out shopping for hours on end, getting a massage, going out to bars, then hoping on a train to another place every day. I am willing to skimp and "backpack", but I don't want to hate my trip. I'm going to be in grad/medical school for the next 6 years of my life, so this is kinda my last gift to myself, before all of that. Travel while you're young and all that. So just factor in that I am a young guy on a budget that wants to have a good time, and a great experience, but is also not picky and has spent enough nights sleeping on streets and making month long trips staying in my two door car, to be able to rough it. Thank you for any and all help. moreVoting Question: any tips or tricks to travel to FIJI on a budget?
I'm Trying to get a family of 4 ( 2 adults, 4 yr old, and 2 year old) to Fiji in March 2011. Cheapest air fair I have found is $6000. moreResolved Question: How much money do I need to travel through China, Vietnam and Cambodia for 7 weeks?
My boyfriend and I are planning a 7 week backpacking trip throughout China, Vietnam and Cambodia. Basically the first month we'll spend traveling Beijing, Pingyao, Xi'an, Chengdu, Lijiang, Guilin, Nanning (and of course the sites around these areas). Then spend about 10 days in Vietnam, visiting Hanoi & Halong bay and then make our way to Angkor Wat in Cambodia for 3-4 days. We'll then travel back to Hong Kong and fly home from there. We're not planning on staying in Hostels all that much, just inexpensive hotels and eating in mostly small restaurants and street food. We'll also use the train system as our main source of travel and probably buses for shorter trips. I was wondering what kind of budget we should aim for? I was hoping for about $4,000 USD or less, not including air fair, visas, vaccines, etc (thats about $1,500 USD). Does anyone have any idea of the cost from experience? Any advice as to how much we will spend per day, etc? Any advice would be appreciated! moreResolved Question: How can I convince my dad to take me to philadelphia?
Ok so theres someone I want to see that lives there but it's such a long way from where I live (louisiana) i thought about traveling by air but thats far to expensive(like 600 some dollars) and then I figured out that traveling by car would be the best way to control our budget. I want to spend as little as I can. Its just so far like a 20 hour drive and of course we'd stop halfway through but I need to convince him to take me. I prefer trains, but sometimes I like to return by direct air. No budget for work arounds, most especially at last moments. Also no trains option for going to Europe. Plus sometimes you find really cheap air fare.Thank you Joni. Apparently some people hardly ever watch the news , read or think and no nothing about all the innocent people on list and the mysterious criteria. One would have thought it would be limited to dangerous radicals, Islamic or otherwise. But I know there are children, writers, even elected officials on there, and people proven totally innocent. moreResolved Question: Help for Planning India Trip Please?
hi, im going to india for 3 months at the end of the year and need some advice on what areas to visit i want to experience the different ways of life but as i'm on a budget the places need to be easily linked through either air or rail travel. I'm starting in Goa and want to visit the andaman islands but don't know where to visit in between, darjeelling sounds amazing but it's up the other end.. hmmm Please help! moreResolved Question: Teletext holidays, travel supermarket ect Flights?
If you book a holiday with teletext holidays, travel supermarket, monster travel and other similar websites which airlines do you fly with? Because obviously when you book with Thomson, Thomas Cook, First Choice ect you fly with their airlines. But if you fly with a travel agency you've never heard of how do you know who you're flying with? I ask because i have a fear of flying and have only flew with a budget airline (Fly Be) once, which was horrendous, we had Technical problems when we set off which they tried to fix, when we finally got in the air it turned out the 'Technical problems' were actually the door not being able to close properly, in which it was slightly open, so we turned back and from talking to other people Fly Be seem to have a lot of Technical problems. I've flown with most of the well known airlines and trust them, i don't want to end up on some crumbling old wreck from somebody i've never heard of. So my questions are: 1. How do you know, before actually getting on the plane, who you'll be flying with? 2. Do these websites use 'brand name' airlines? 3. For people who have holidayed with these websites, do they offer as good a holiday service as say, Thomson? Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated, Thanks moreResolved Question: Any suggestion for a trip itinerary in Thailand and Comdobia?
My boyfriend and I plan to have a trip in Southeast Asia in July and for 4 weeks. Here are our budgets and expectations for the trip: 1) He is from Europe and heard that Phuket is just like another England and wouldn't like to go there so we need another place with beautiful beaches. Would Krabi be a good one? Also he would like to go to Phi Phi island very much. 2) I want to go both Chiang Mai and Angkor Wat, which are not his preferences. So I want to go just one of them, Chiang Mai or Angkor Wat, so which is better to go? 3) 4 weeks is relatively long trip so I want to know what could be the best way to travel ? and any suggestions for other places? We wouldn't like to spend time or money on girls or booze parties, but the beautiful beaches and nature. 4) We are on a budget of 60.000 Baht (for two of us), excluding the air tickets. And our first arrival is Bangkok. Any suggestions for us to make the best of the trip? Thanks a lot. moreResolved Question: New Air Force vs. New Navy?
Please add to this if you can, I am pretty stuck on which way to go. So, I have decided to go to the Military, in either the Navy Branch or the Air Force Branch. I have done a lot of research on the matter, i.e. reading the basic training break downs for each, look at all job descriptions, looking at the deployments and the pay rates. Speaking with people who has 1st hand experience in both and reading about them. Also I have been looking at the new changes they have been making to branches these last few years So Far I have figured this out: Air Force = Basic training now is 8 weeks and seems to be geared toward mainly combat only. and BMT through the USAF is just one big mind f#$k to break you down, but then you are left to pick up the pieces. But this is done to weed out the people who cant handle stress. Jobs are scarce because the don't need as many people working because all of the tech advancements. The jobs are also specialized for you learn how to only perfect you job only. Depending on the job you get you could have the cushiest job in the world or be bored off your ass most the time. And moving up is harder/ none existent Money and Chances for education beyond tech school is very low due to budget cuts (putting funding toward new toys for the AF). Travel is what you make it pretty much and you have a great chance of having a life outside of the base NAVY= Basic Training is now the easiest more classroom time than others. The training facility is new and all inside. Not as much mentally hard as the Air Force. Physically is harder than the Air Force. Jobs: There is a variety of jobs, but you will always end up on a ship no matter what. The training for the jobs is very well rounded. You may be able to get the job you want as long as you scored good for it on your ASVAB. Pay is ok. Education is easy to obtain, they give you money for school and have schools on the ships and bases accessible to you. Travel is pretty much mandatory, you will see more ports all over the world. moreResolved Question: Traveling to Australia and New Zealand?
I got a great deal (so I think) for a package deal. RT air from LAX to Sydney. Sydney to Cairns. Cairns to Melbourne. Melbourne to Auckland. Auckland to Lax. All destinations for 3 nights at 5 star hotels. Total for this package including air and hotel taxes was $1889 (US$). I noticed the American Dollar is getting stronger against the Australian and NZ dollars. I was wandering (from Americans who have been to these places) how Australia and NZ charges? Is it expensive for food, tours, taxis, etc?? Im on a bit of a budget after dropping 1900 bucks. Its a great deal but I am unemployed at the moment and have no source of income. Anyone been to these destinations that can inform me of the costs in the lands down under? Thanks. moreResolved Question: Maritime tropical air masses?
A.) travel southward toward the equator B.) travel toward the coastline C.) contribute little in the way of moisture to the middle regions of the North American continent. D.) Thank you. moreResolved Question: What is the best military branch to join if you have a family?
I'm speaking on behalf of my brother. Who is 29 years old He is married and has 1 daughter. She is only 3 years old. He has a bachelors degree in criminal justice, and wanted to be a cop. But None of the police or sheriff's or state or anything are hiring at all. So he's thinking about joining the military. (I'm assuming he wants to be an M.P) I'm in the army. I didn't recommend the army to him only because I have been in almost 4 years and I did 2 16 month tours, which really sucked. Yeah, I have only been home 16 months out of the 4 years I have been in the army. And I'm just a supply guy.(stationed with an infantry unit) So knowing that I told him to not really consider the army. I don't know about the other military branches. Air force, Navy, Marines, IDK. I kind of hinted the Navy casue they travel alot. The air force to cause from what I heard it's laid back, and you get really cool duty stations at like top secret basesEspeciallyly with his college degree from a top-of-the-line college. (Penn State). Marines from again what I heard have a really low-budget and only get like left-over money from what the Navy didn't spend in there fiscal year. So posts are prob nothing like Navy, Air force, or even Army. I dont know though, what do you guys think? What should I tell him? Thank you. moreResolved Question: Would $1000 be enough for 4 weeks travel in Thailand?(AUD)?
The money is excluded of air ticket to Thailand, just the money I plan to spend within Thailand. I am going to travel with a friend, with whom I am going to share the hotel room with. I plan to go to 4 or 5 places in total, including Bangkok(well, if the political situation is good by July). Expecting to sleep some nights in reasonable night hotels, some nights in guesthouses, half Thai cheap food and half in restaurants, things I would like to do are swiming, hanging out on the beach, trekking, see some shows( if my friend likes it), sailing. I am not big drinker so I will not spend much money on drinking and won't spend money on girls. Also we would travel by train and bus. We plan to spend a whole week at some quiet place like in a village to enjoy being together. Would $1000 be enough for a 4 week trip in Thailand? We will split the bill so he will also have $1000 or so. Can anyone tell me if it is enough? If not, how much extra money do I need? I am still a student so I gotta go on a budget. Thanks a lot. moreResolved Question: Group travel to Barbados?
I am looking for the best (and most cost effective) things to do in Barbados in August 2010 with a group of six teenage girls and two adults (the parents of one of the girls). The trip is to celebrate one girl's 16th birthday. Air travel: Airfare from PHL to BGI seems to be around $600 pp. Is there any airline that has cheap airfare to BGI? Accommodation: Right now, the best option seems to be renting a 4 bedroom villa for upwards of $600/night, which is fine for my budget. Is there any other group lodging option available (under $800/night for all eight of us)? Activities: I was thinking of these activities: Polo lesson at Waterhall Polo Center (Ape's Hill) for 7 of the people 3 hour snorkeling tour for everyone Hunte's Garden I would like to include more activities, but they would have to be inexpensive (prices get really big when you multiply them by eight :) ) because the polo lesson would be rather expensive. Any suggestions? Additionally, does anyone know of a good place to ride (horses) in Barbados; only two in our group are regular horseback riders, but we would still prefer something that's not so "nose-to-tail"? Car Rental: Are there any reputable, inexpensive car rental services that rent vans (8-seaters)? I found Drive-A-Matic Car Rentals--are they any good? Thank you for reading my really long question (and hopefully answering)! moreResolved Question: How much would I have to budget, minimum, to travel to London?
I am from America, traveling from Detroit to London. I have found packages that allegedly start at 900 dollars for hotel and air, but after going to the checkout screen, after taxes and fees, it ends up around $1,400. Now, I know about all the tricks like using the Piccadilly Line to travel into London to save money, and using the Eurostar to go to Paris. However, going to London, how much would I need there, assuming I would go to pubs/clubs, museums, historical sites, eat out, etc? I think at the most, I could part with $3,000, but I'm more willing to do it for $2,000. That hotel and airfare is a killer though. I know there will be additional charges for the visa and OTHER things. Should I just wait for the exchange rates to go down before considering a London trip? My backup plan is Las Vegas with my friend this summer, it would be MUCH cheaper, and I like cheap. I'm not planning on gambling much. I sowed my wild oats with that years ago, it won't be a problem. moreResolved Question: Is service tax on air travel in India applicable to foreign travels also?

Hi, I am travelling to South America in 4 weeks and as I am coming out of being a full time student I will be doing it on the cheap. I already have accomodation paid for, and also my air tickets. I just have to get a bus to Ecuador from Lima.. and my budget is about $1500usd for 2 months, or $25usd a day. If I don't have to pay for accomodation, do you think this would be enough to live over there? I know those countries are pretty cheap anyway... (dont worry.. Thanks moreResolved Question: Your thoughts on this vacation situation?
We(husband and to kids) moved states away. Florida to New England. I have taking some solo trips and my husband has as well that was work related but he saw famly as well. My mom has taken some trips up to us. My father hasnt taken one trip. It has been 3 years since we have been there and we have brought our kids to visit just once and that was almost 3 years ago. We havent taken our children on a fun trip since 2006. They are 6 & 8 now. So, we are going to Orlando. We were going to try to go south to see family as well but cant afford to do that. We will be just over 3 hours away, 4 possibly including stops. Although I feel bad that we arent going to visit them, I feel they can certainly come our way for a night. Money wise its possible for my family and my dad is retired and my mom has Sundays and Mondays off of work. My FIL and BIL will be taking a trip our way. My MIL probably will not but my parents could if they chose to. Our plans are not changing. However, I would be interested in hearing what others would do. This is a low budget trip and want it to be relaxing as the last time we visited family it was a lot of work. Noone was willing to come together. We were basically forced to constantly be on the go bc this one wont be with that one and it was crazy, un fun and not very welcoming. And because of the low bidget, there will be few days and were few days last time and so zero relaxing, just aggravation. So, we are going to travel close enough to where it will not cost an arm and a leg for them(mainly my dad) to take the trip. No air fare needed. If they like we can get a 2 bedroom villa, instead of one and they can save on the hotel, too. moreResolved Question: Would you feel bad enough to alter your plans in this vacation/seeing family scenerio?

Does this plan sound good: Me and my dad are planning a trip to Iceland this April for about a week. We are flying via Iceland Air. We are going pick up our rental car at the Airport. We are also going to spend the nights at a hotel in Reykjavik, and take daily excursions to various activities from the hotel. Would our plan be too difficult? We are on a budget, and want to spend not a lot on travel, but more on activities. Lastly, what are some must see or do things while we are in Iceland? Im talking about travelling indonesia, malaysia, thailand, cambodia and vietnam (and maybe singapore not sure about the expense though) but not on too tight a budget and going solo if possible (or with a group or couple). Going to the main places (i.e bali, jakarta, kuala lumpur, kho phangan samui, bkk, phuket, phnom penh, saigon and more)with a good bit partying and seeing some of the main attractions and flying the long journeys (bkk to bali via air asia). Also staying in cheap (but nice) hotels and eating local (and the odd big mac haha) food. Even if you budget yourself far less (to prolong your visit) or spend more than above would love to hear your answers. Cheers. p.s mine would be 2 months (including my return flight home) is this too little for too much in your opinion.??i was in laos the internet is faster than my country...i didn't add it coz im not going there this time moreResolved Question: Cheapest month for flights to London from Ireland (various airports) during summer, (Long Question)?
O.K, So I'm planning to go to London for 2 days (1 night) during the months June, July and August. I have 3 options of who to fly with. Aer Arann from Waterford to Luton. Aer Lingus from Dub - Heathrow, Aer Lingus from Cork - Heathrow. and Ryanair from Dub - Luton. The problems that arise for me is that Aer Lingus is very expensive for me (I'm only 17) But, it goes to Heathrow which is the best and closest airport to London (besides London city airport, but thats out of the question) and cheapest and quickest for transport so I can have more money and time to spend in the city. Ryanair is the cheapest but goes to London Luton which is further away and will take longer and more money to get to the city thus shortening my trip and budget. Aer Arann is Cheaper than Aer Lingus but again, it goes to Luton (read above why thats a small problem.) BUT! Waterford airport is 20 mins from me so I wouldn't have to spend money on transport to the airport and I would get more sleep and more money to spend, maybe. So anyway! My question is. Which do you think is best to go with. Also, what is the cheapest month for air travel to London, how long is the tube ride from Heathrow Airport to London city center (by Madame Tussaudes or Tower bridge lets say) And how much is it? Is there a Tube from Luton Airport to where I said above, if so. How long? and How much. Would the bus be cheaper or quicker? (I doubt it) Travel tips and advices would be greatley appreciated please. Please try to stick to the point I'm on about. I cant fly from or to Shannon or any other places very far away from me, nor to Stanstead (very much to far away I think). If you find any cheaper airlines then say so. But so far they are the only ones that I find reasonable. This trip is just for fun with Friends because I love London, and its the closest and cheapest place for a proper 2 day trip. I know I'm kind of rabbling on about how I want you to answer this question, I apologize. best answer gets 10 points. Thank you in advanced :D moreResolved Question: US/NC to Estonia for less than $500?
The cheapest thing I've found is Expedia bargain one-way flights for around $600. One-Way works for me because I also have citizenship there. There is literally an almost non-existent job market no matter the trade and/or skill here in North Carolina, so I'm stuck with an unpredictable shoestring budget. Seems like there should be a cheaper way, the prices don't match the average state of economy. By air it's Charlotte, NC (CLT-Charlotte-Douglas Intl.) to Tallinn, Estonia (TLL-Ulemiste), but it doesn't have to be air travel. Thanks moreVoting Question: What is the best guitar for a beginner?
I am looking to learn how to play the guitar, but I not sure what guitar to buy. I have looked online and in stores and its rather overwhelming. I don't know quite what I should be looking for. I want something that is good quality and I have budgeted up to $250 for it, but I would prefer not to spend that much. Any advice on the best one to get. I am definitely thinking I want an acoustic guitar, but beyond that I have no idea. My friend and I will be in Malaysia for about three days. He has an unfortunate fear of travelling by water (e.g. ferry, speedboat), so we'll have to go to beaches using some other mode of transport. Are there beaches in Langkawi/Pahang/Penang which can be accessed directly by road or air? I'm looking for some over-the-ear headphones to use at home since my laptop speakers are horrible and I do not want to get speakers because I am also looking for headphones that are easy to travel with. Some noise canceling feature would be nice because we all know how annoying the air plane engines are right? Comfortability is a must! BUL / SIENA (Reuters) - E 'six Italian paratroopers dead and four wounded, as well as 10 Afghan civilians killed, the budget of a suicide attack today in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan. This was confirmed by Defense Minister Ignazio La Russa, while the Afghan Defense Ministry stated that there are ten dead and 52 wounded among civilians. The deadliest attack was claimed by the Taliban with a text message sent from a phone number used by one of their spokesmen. According to the first reconstruction of the incident, around 12 hours local time (about 9:30 in Italy), a bomber in a car packed with explosives was blown up after managing to slip between two armored vehicles " Lince "Italians, engaged in an escort service, traveling from the airport to the headquarters of the international force ISAF. "The pleas were 10 our soldiers. All have suffered consequences from the outbreak, six dead and four wounded," La Russa said in a speech at the Senate. "At least 150 kilos of explosives" By late afternoon, in an informative report to the House, La Russa said the car bomb that killed six paratroopers' was packed with at least 150 pounds of explosives. " The defense minister has however reiterated what was said on the occasion of other attacks, namely that the episode of today is not part of a strategy targeted against the Italians. The victims belong to 186esimo Folgore regiment and are: Lieutenant Anthony Fortunato (of Lagonegro in the province of Potenza, born in 1974), Sergeant Major Robert Valente (Naples, 1972), 1 Corporal Major Matthew Mureddu (Oristano , 1983), 1 corporal Giandomenico Pistonami (of Orvieto in the province of Perugia, in 1983), 1 Corporal Major Maximilian Randín (of Pagans in the province of Salerno, 1977), 1 corporal Davide Ricci (born in Switzerland in 1983) also belong to three of the four wounded 186esimo regiment, the Fourth Air Force. According to a spokesman for the Italian contingent in Kabul, the wounded "are completely out of danger. They scorch in various parts of the body, not deep as feared at first, and severe bruising but no fractures." Colonel Benito Milani, detachment commander of the Folgore regiment 186esimo in Siena, told reporters that the bodies could be part of Italy tomorrow: "I suppose that the bodies will arrive tomorrow or two days in Rome because the dead were from provinces different, and I suppose that the capital would be held a state funeral. " The massacre - that after the attack in Nasiriyah Iraq in 2003, which killed 17 Italian soldiers and two civilians, in addition to nine Afghans, is the deadliest attack in recent years to the Italian troops abroad - brings the Italian casualties in Afghanistan to 20. NATO: TRUE TRAGEDY BUT SOME COMMITMENT ITALY NATO has called the attack a "real tragedy" but does not question the presence of Italy in the international mission in Afghanistan. "These soldiers have died carrying out a mission absolutely essential for our own security," he told Reuters in Brussels NATO spokesman James Appathurai, adding that "there is no fear that this attack could cause the withdrawal of Italian troops from mission. Despite these "despicable, cowardly attacks that have struck in the most devious, we will not stop," he promised the Senate La Russa. That Italy could withdraw from Afghanistan has also excluded the Interior Minister Roberto Maroni, said he would "surrender to the logic of terrorism," although in recent months, the Northern League, his party, has called for an abandonment of mission. moreVoting Question: Don't know what kind of career to look for.?
Honestly I'm pretty much fed up with retail and any other low end jobs, I've always hated it. I greatly want a career in which I can be proud of, I hate being broke most of the time and living from check to check. Recently I got fired from Wal-mart which paid pretty ok, about $10.20 an hour. I liked the people but the work was just boring and very uninteresting. Now I work at another retail job that only allows part time, I rent and can barely make it on this budget. I really am not crying and I know that you need to put in hard work to get what you want in life...Although this isn't the problem here...I seriously lack direction and I'm absolutely scared of taking the wrong path, of course this has caused me to basically go no where. I fear if I pick a path and end up not liking it that I will have wasted time. I love to help people and be apart of something important, like an organization(like military or police) but more laid back(those positions have fascinated me). I'm a very laid back person, although jobs I've looked into have been police officer and air force. I quit looking into them because I don't think my personality would fit, I'm sorta spacey but I love to travel and experience new things. I'm a tad bit rebellious and sometimes have problems with authority figures(Don't like to be told what to do) also very stubborn at times, I enjoy working on my own at with projects. I can work as a team but I often find myself frustrated because I like to take control with my own ideas if I feel it isn't to the level it should be. I love being hands on, I'm a very creative person...I've found myself working on different projects for hours and hours, anything that I can design and create. Music is also a big thing for me, I love playing guitar and singing in front of people it has always seemed to click with me and people have said that I should go further with it...but honestly its a scary thing to jump into because its a hard industry to even consider. I'm not the best singer in the world but I have a pretty good voice although I'm very expressive I like to express myself. The way I see it, I would need help and would have to be guided. I like to lead but not in a way to where I'm making the choices, I like to be near the decision maker and be involved deeply. As long as my work keeps me enriched with new experiences, I would be happy. Sorry I tried to throw out as many things as possible to help people better understand my point of view. If anyone has any advice it would be very greatly appreciated. moreResolved Question: Is it possible to travel to Germany for $1000usd?

Places of visit includes: Gold Coast, Melbourne city and Sydney city. I have the following questions, kindly help me with it, thanks so much!! 1. Should I fly to Melbourne and travel to Gold Coast by bus(or car), or should I just fly to Brisbane and then to Melbourne and end with Sydney? I already planning to end my trip in Sydney. 2. What are the airlines recommended? Quatas? Sg Air? China Air? Kindly give me some reviews about these airlines... 3. Any suggestions on my budget if I am only planning to stay in motels and not hotels? What are the places I should visit when I am in the three destinations? Thanks all=)Thanks to all whom have answered!! I think my wife and I will want to spend time at the beach, enjoy the sea and su, and we really want to try out sky diving!! Also from the wonderful answers, I have some other questions... 1. Any beach, sea activities, sky diving spot that you all can recommend? I read there are many beaches along the coast, but which is good and fun? 2. I guess i'll nd to budget in the flights fr places to places now, however due to the flight&budget restriction, I got to start and end my journey in Melbourne...so will it be wise if I spend more time in Brisbane & Melbourne, and just add a day or 2 for Sydney? I know is a personal preference, but no harm to have more opinions... 3. I want to experience more of Aus. life style instead of just being a tourist, so any suggestions for me? Thank you all so much!! moreResolved Question: Should I, a young 24 year-old woman join the Air Force?
I had plans to transfer back into a 4-year University next Spring, but because of the budget cuts in CA, schools are no longer accepting applications for Spring enrollment. I was already attending a 4-year a few years back but dis-enrolled for various reasons. For the last two years I've been attending a junior college off and on but mostly working. The reason why I am thinking about joining the Air Force now is because I would be able to proudly serve my country, I would not have to accrue more debt to finish my degree, I get housing benefits, get to travel the world/country, and I'd get good medical benefits. I've seriously thought about this two times before but never took the next step in meeting with a recruiter. It just makes sense to me now because I really want to finish school but feel it's getting pushed back more and more. I just need some opinions before I talk to my mom about it. moreResolved Question: When do YOU get YOUR $65 million jet?

Hi. My husband is in the Air Force and we are moving our stuff from North Dakota to Georgia. Our Budget Truck is going to cost 1500 dollars, plus gas, etc. I'm unclear of how much we are going to get back for doing this. I read something about a dislocation allowance and advanced travel.
