Resolved Question: Be my Critic, How does this sound?

Hi Yahoo-ers I have been writing a story as a HOBBY on days when things have been slow, here is a Small section of the beginning of the first chapter. The story is about a lighthearted but very clumsy Heroine who was prophesied to save her people from a dark mysterious lord; struggling with doubt and insecurity's that she will really "Save her people" She heads out to be proven wrong. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISM is welcome, I also would really enjoy your input on my writing skills / if its horrible / and also any fresh or exciting ideas :) Oh and btw, id LOVE if you guys could help me with a few names, I cannot think of a proper name for the dwarfen lands hense "UNNAMED" as the place holder and "FEMALE" as the main antagonists name, any ideas for a good strong but feminine female elf name? Oh and also, help me out with some grammar issues I have been having - Run on sentencing I believe >.< Oh thou i hate you so -- It was already starting to get late, we had traveled many hours and the whole caravan had started to slow quietly as the sun descended behind the mountains of Kaoir, the horses hooves dragged lazily threw the soggy forest floor as we struggled to escape its clutches before the last bit of sunlight vanished and was consumed by the nights sky. Sunlight had gone to soon, and we had not even came half way to are destination. Fearing bandits luring in the tall shadows of the ancient redwoods which loomed above us like tall giants, long spindly ancient branches reaching out like hungry fingers ready to feast on the unfortunate soul that drawled to near. Traveling in the Twilight was dangerous, even for a group of undaunted Elves. Normally the evening would calm me, make me one with nature, free my mind from the common petty ordeals that the humans squander over daily. The night was my common habitat, my home. Someplace I could always feel welcome in - but not here. A silence not normal to the quite of the night surrounded us, suffocating my thoughts as I struggled to wrap my mind around the reason of its existence. I was not alone in the common unease that washed over the group, like a fast moving plague. Something was not right. Agreeing to camp at the next small village we came across, the atmosphere was slightly more relaxed and lighthearted then expected in ones circumstance. Stories of Black-souls and there riders had been rolling around the countryside lately, and the slightest cast of shadow from above sent shivers down my spine. We had packed light, my bow and arrow had been left back at our village. Which was a choice I reluctantly had to make by orders from Sairwynn, the leader of our small group - a fact that made me just as uneasy. The forest began to clear, the tall tree’s thinning out into a large clearing which appeared to be a crop field of some strange plant I had never seen before. Cautiously we walked threw the open field, flanking one another well aware of how exposed we were from all sides. My heels dug into the sides of my horse Alfayr who in return gave a annoyed grunt. I apologized softly to her, as I tried to relax. It wasn’t very often for my people to travel to the edge of our forest, and venture into the territories of the Dwarfen lands of "UNNAMED". Wind rustled the sweet smelling blades of grass, and kicked up the dead leaves left behind from winters grasp as the last rays of the sun slipped behind the giant rocks in the distance. Once the last remnants of the earthy grass disappeared from the night’s air, another more foul smell intruded my lungs, stinging my eyes and burning my throat the smell of hot fire and coal flooded my senses. more

Resolved Question: Air travel, ticket question?

Wondering if anyone out there can help me out. My sister is purchasing my plane ticket with her credit card, of course listing me as the passenger. But I am wondering if for some reason she'd have to be present and have her card at the airport before I could board? Someone has told me the card holder must be there and another person has told me that you only need the card you if you are using self check-in kiosks only. I have also heard I only need a gov issued ID. Who is right? BTW, I'd bring her with me just in case however we do not live in the same state. Any help would be grateful! more
