Air Travel Carseat Stroller Questions asked
Resolved Question: Tips on flying with a 1 year old?!?
In September, I am flying alone with my 1 year old son. Im extremely nervous about it.. I wish I had NEVER agreed to fly from Ohio to Arizona, but.. I did lol. I have a few (actually, ALOT) of questions about it such as: Should I bring his carseat for him to sit in on the plane (or is it required?), how do I deal with him if he starts to get cranky with air pressure and such?, should I bring his stroller and can I have someone store it on the plane when I get to the gate?, Do the carseat & stroller count as carry-ons and if so, how the heck am I supposed to have a carryon bag?, He drinks milk so is there milk I can purchase on the plane for him to drink since I cant bring my own?.... And so on and so forth lol. ANY and ALL tips (except for rude ones written by people who dont understand the stress of traveling with a baby) will be SO GREATLY APPRECIATED! Please help, I am stressed out already!!! Thank you!!
moreResolved Question: Can I bring frozen breatmilk on a plane?
I also asked this in 'travel-air travel'
I'm flying with my two young boys the day after tomorrow and I want to bring 8-10 oz of breast milk with me (I won't have a pump with me). I want it in case I want to leave my kids with my mom and sister for a few hours one night to hang out with my best friend (haven't seen her in over a year and truthfully would enjoy one night away from the kids). My 7 month old is on solids now, but still has milk a few times a day and right before bed.
I know that the airlines have the 'no liquids' rule and will only allow a few oz of liquid, but what about frozen milk? will they let me on the plane with it? I need it frozen because I'm afraid that if it's not, it won't be any good by the end of the flight, even in my little cooler. at least if it's frozen I can keep adding ice to the pack.
Anyone know?
Also, I don't want to call the airline if I can avoid it. I called them last month with a stroller/carseat question and it took them 20 minutes and went through 5 different people to find a answer!I can't put it in my carry on because I need to make sure that it stays frozen. I don't want to bring room temp milk, because I won't be using it as soon as I get there, it may be a week or so before it gets used.*sorry, meant to say that I can't put it in NON carry on...I can't drink it, it's frozen. and the cooler fit's in the diaper bag.

This will be my sons first time traveling on an airplane and just want some advice that worked to make a peaceful trip. Me and my husband are at odds on what to bring. I think it is important to bring a stroller for him while at the airport, especially since we have an 1 1/2 layover. I also heard that it is your choice to bring a carseat on the plane. I think it is important to have him in one but what I have researched, it seems that some like to be in the seat alone. Also, what did you give your toddler to keep him happy and quiet, food and game wise? Any advice over and beyond would be appreciated. Thank you!
moreResolved Question: Need recommendation how to pack Stroller & Carseat or Travel Systems as a check-in baggage for air travel?
I plan to travel abroad and would like to bring the travel system, (stroller and car seat) with me. The baby is living overseas and this will be a gift for my wife because the item is twice as expensive than purchasing in the US.
I would like to tie the stroller and car seat together and put it as a one-piece baggage. I have another luggage with me. These are not the carried on items.
The weight is not the problem because the airlines allow 50 lbs per item. I would like the stroller and car seat to arrive safely at the destination. They informed me that the grid combined should not be over 62". If I wrap them together, with a shrink-wrap or box, will there be any acceptable.
Does anyone have the ideas how I should do it? Please do not recommend me to buy a new one over there. I do appreciate your sincere response.
moreResolved Question: Air travel (Midwest Connection) with infant...question about stroller/carseat?
I called the airline I'm flying with and was told I could gate check my stroller if it was an "umbrella" stroller. I don't know what she means by "umbrella." I have a Graco travel system where the carseat hooks into the stroller, and because my daughter's still very young, she requires the use of both. What is an "umbrella" stroller? Anyone have experience specifically with this...will I be able to gate check my travel system?
moreResolved Question: Air travel with an infant...?
I'm planning on flying home with my four month old daughter for Christmas and have a few questions. I've looked on the TSA website and it answered a few that I have, but not all of them.
1. Do I have to have my daughter in a carseat during the flight? If not and I have the carseat checked, is there anything special I need to do to have it checked (box it, etc)?
2. Any requirements to checking a stroller or Pack N Play?
3. Formula doesn't have the 3 ounce limit, but does it still have to be in the 1 quart bag going through security?
4. Are there baby changing stations on board?
5. Would I be seated first for "needing" extra time or assistance?
6. Should I bring her birth certificate to prove she's my daughter?
7. Will she be issued a ticket, or just me?
I'll probably think of more, but that's all I have for now. Thanks!Another question...
8. Does it cost extra to check a carseat, stroller, or Pack N Play? If so, any idea how much extra?I will most likely be flying with US Airways.
moreResolved Question: baby b'air and gogo kidz car seat attachment?
I travel A LOT, we my now 14 month old, by myself. She is normally a lap baby on the shorter flights, those less then 2.5 hours, and because she's small, only 18 lbs, which makes it easy. The couple of times I have gotten her a seat I got told by the flight attendent she needed to be in it for take off and landing, which I had to argue since she is under two and still breast fed...anyways that's the back ground.
I have an up coming flight...well 6...but I was looking at getting the travel thing for the carseat, I have a huge jogger stroller that I used and it wasn't a problem since the weight limit was 80lbs I would put the carseat, my over night bag, and my diaper bag on that and then just carry the baby, I just got a Rock Star Baby Candy stroller, similar to the Maclaren Quest and that won't work...has anyone used either of these products and been either really impressed or really disappointed. I would also get the car seat bag to go on top...I like to a la carte all my stuff.

I will be flying from San Diego to Grand Junction Colorado with my 3 month old daughter. I have a few questions, I will just list them, and if you have answers or advice for any, please share:
Can I bring my stroller and is that considered a carry on?
I cannot breast feed and have to pump every six hours, can I bring my medela electric pump on the plane or do I have to check it..and if I check it, will it be safe from damage?
My car seat comes with the carseat base..can I bring that?
I paid for her to have her own seat, does that she means she can have carry on's and checked luggage as well?
Will somebody help me to get to the next flight after the layover?
Anything else I should know?Also... how can I transport my frozen breast milk and chilled milk... I dont want to go without an ample back up.
moreResolved Question: Checking stroller/carseat for air travel?
So if we decide to check our stroller / carseat with our luggage do they each count as an item? Do we need to buy a special bag to keep it in or do they have bags/ wrapping they will use. We are flying American Airlines.
moreResolved Question: Air travel with a baby?
I have to fly to St. Louis with my 4 month old baby. I can only get a seat for me, she will have to travel on my lap, so we can have 2 checked items, 1 carry-on item, and 1 personal item (the diaper bag).
Any suggestions for how to get all of her STUFF to the other end without exceeding the baggage limit? I can bring either an umbrella stroller or a snap'n'go with a carseat (would that count as 2 checked items?). General suggestions for check-in and flying also appreciated!
