Resolved Question: Gift Card Balance and Airplane Question?
How can I check my Auntie Anne's Gift Card Balance??? (other than going there, cause I need to know now how much I have) If I want to purchase a drink on the plane, do I have to use a credit card or can I pay in cash (I'm traveling with Air Tran) moreResolved Question: How are overweight people accomodated on flights?
I want my brother to come to my wedding so I'm looking into flights. However I'm afraid he's too large to sit comfortably in a regular seat. He is 6 ft tall and size 46 pants. Where is the best seat for big guys? We're traveling with Air Tran.ANY advice would be helpful! ThanksMy mother, fiance, and myself are also going on the same flight--I just havent chosen which seat to buy for him. moreResolved Question: Has anyone been asked to buy a second seat on Air Tran for being overweight?
My sister and I are traveling together and she is a little overweight, like size 22. I don't want her to be embarrassed if we get there and they make a big deal about it.....I can't find anything on their website except you should be able to buckle your seat belt. Anyone know? Thanks moreResolved Question: names the places that air tran travels?

I have recently found Air Tran serves the Saint Louis, Mo. market. I have traveled extensively with a lot of airlines, but for some reason have not come across Air Tran. Can anyone share their experience with this airline (positive or negative). I have upcoming trips & wondering whether to consider them or not. Thanks in advance for your help.Dandandavidson2000@yahoo.com moreResolved Question: Travel agent for China to Europe by train?
I have an air ticket (part of a RTW) from Europe to Hongkong ( this destination could be changed) and want to use it to get to the start of a trans Mongolia/SIberia train journey. Seeking advice/ travel agent who could advise me on departure points in China: whether it would be possible to included a detour train journey up to Lhasa, and what the options are for then returning to Europe by train. Need to use my air ticket before end of March 2010. moreResolved Question: Has anyone flown Business Class AIR TRAN to VEGAS from either Milwaukee or Atlanta?
THIS IS A BIT LONG READ IF YOU HAVE TIME: Do you think that we'd be able to get a business class seat if we don't buy it way ahead of time but just try to upgrade exactly 24 hours online (Air Tran's rule) before the flight takes off. This is my problem. We received two free tickets for a trip and we have to fly air tran, but my husband is sort of a bigger guy, (think football player type) and we need a bigger seat for him. I hate for him to have to squeeze into those tiny air tran coach seats. Anyway I've seen Business class on Air tran and that would work fine and we could enjoy a trip to Vegas then. But the tickets are only good for coach and then the only thing we can do is buy the upgrade to Business class for about $99 each way which we can afford. (NOTE: But we can't afford an entire new ticket in Business class since that's 1,000 bucks and they won't let us use our coach ticket towards the more expensive Business class ticket.) Anyway the people on the 800 line said the only way to do it is to wait till 24 hours before the flights to try to get a 99 dollar ugrade to Business class online but it is "first come first serve" and if people pre-paid for the expensive Business class seats at $1,000 the 12 seats could be sold out totally I guess too, sooooo,,,, now I'm worried we'll have this huge trip planned , hotels etc.,and at the last day before have to cancel it and lose my free tickets since my husband might not fit in the little seats and they might force us to pay for an entire last minute extra seat for my husband which we couldn't really afford at $500 coach either, and Business class would be sold out. So my real question is: how likely do you think a flight from Milwaukee to Vegas or Atlanta to Vegas (or Vegas to Atlanta, or Vegas to Milwaukee back again) would be sold out PRIOR to the 24 hour restriction? The agents said there's no way to really know, but that usually business class people know it's cheaper to just wait to the 24 hours before and then do it online. What do you think from all your business traveling. Thanks if you know....ALSO is there a time of week or a certain month that a flight most likely wouldn't be full compared to other times or months to vegas? Or nowadays are almost ALL flights filled to the max to Vegas?ALLUKCAT, THANKS SO MUCH!!!! moreResolved Question: Best Cruise for a first time cruiser, with my husband, to Caribbean, 4 nights only...?
Would like to see Turks and Caicos but don't know if there is a good 4 night cruise from Miami that goes there. Would like to travel next year, what would be the cheapest and /or best time to travel there. I'd like a newer ship since I hate bugs and older ships I've heard can be buggy, yuk! Have you found this to be true? I don't want a formal cruise so we need casual dining options without dressy clothes needed for dinner. I can fly out of any city really since I have 2 free round trip plane tickets anywhere Air Tran flies. Would you book with a travel agent or on Travelocity or Expedia, etc? Any tips or information you have would be great. We are 44 years old but don't like huge crowds so we'd like a cruise ship that isn't totally packed with people everywhere we turn. We'd like to have some day excursions to lay on the beach and preferably be able to pay extra for a quiet, private beach excursion if they offer that on the cruise. I may be being too demanding here, not sure. We'd only like to pay a total for the 3 or 4 nights of 1,000 bucks. Thanks if you know anything that fits this criteria...I wish I could pick all of your comments as a best answer sorry I have to choose but I appreciate everyone's responses. moreResolved Question: If you have free airfare to either Cancun, Bahamas, Jamaica, Miami for a cruise, etc. where would you go?
Hi, we gave up our seats on a flight home from Florida to St. Louis and the airline gave us 2 free roundtrip tickets to anywhere they fly. We would only have to pay for hotels and food, or if a cruise, just the price of the cruise. We are 44 years old and are stuck on deciding where to go and what to do with our free tickets. Tropical Places Air Tran flies: Cancun, Aruba, Bahamas, Jamaica, Miami, Key West, and I think Cabo San Lucas. We only want to spend about 1200 bucks total for 3 nights somewhere. (This would need to include food and hotel/ or the total price for the cruise). We've never cruised before so I don't know if I'd like that or not. We looked into all inclusive places in Cancun that looked great but don't know which place is best. I checked out Atlantis in the Bahamas but that place seemed overpriced for about 1700 for 3 nights. We heard Jamaica has gone done hill somewhat and crime is a problem, not for sure on that though. Let me know what you'd do and where you'd go if you have traveled to any of these places. Thanks a lot for any information! SierraActivities we like to do: lounge around on a beach, sip drink at a tiki hut, look for shells, eat lots of food (seafood, yum!), take a little cruise to see dolphins or to go to a private island, gamble possibly, see a show maybe, but nothing that 20 year olds like, not too wild of partying etc. , more relaxed and secluded beaches preferably. Thanks. moreResolved Question: Air travel question ?
Guess the "travel" time from JFK (New York) to Perth, Australia if you book it the long route? (answer below)... My wife Dot and I are starting a Home Travel Agency. We are joining a very large outfit that deals with folks like us who want a home business. I used to work for TWA (Trans World Airlines) 25 years. Before they were sold to American. My job was International reservations for flights, tours, and cars. One day I was playing around with the computer and (at the time) found 25 different airfares between New York City and Los Angeles. Reason being a person can naturally fly non-stop or change flights thru many-many different cities (called "connecting" flights). You can also combine 2 different discount fares and fly "back to back" (Let's use a make believe fare for an example) Let's say a normal coach ticket New York to Los Angeles is $500. But, if we combine a New York "discount" $150 route to St. Louis, Mo. (change our own bag's or better yet have a small carry on bag) and pick up a $200 St. Louis to Los Angeles trip. Yea-yea I know some of you are saying, "Hey, blah-blah-blah !!!" OKAY GANG how about the person who flys "EVERYWEEK" ??? Or every 2 weeks? Let's say Mr. Fly-every-week work's that job for 20 years ? Hey kid's... NOW WE'ER TALKING $156,000 OF OUR PRETEND MONEY GOING DOWN THE DRAIN !!!!! All of you can call the airlines and get real money if you want. My point is, I just want to show you folks how to save money. Yes, sometimes fares are around for a short period of time. One time TWA had a $33 special St. Louis to Chicago one way for about a month. Now I'm not supposed to ask for your business here in Yahoo Answers... BUT... I can help a "new" friend with travel information if he or she has an up and coming trip they need help with. My e-mail address is attached to this... what ever it is. All I need is your dates of travel to & from and a list of towns your going to with how much time at each stop. I figure if I can help make your trip a bit better thats half the game won. Your going to find as you call around to different airlines and travel agents (say maybe 10 or 15 or so) your going to feel like you just dug a hole 30' x 50' and 20' deep in your back yard. Some of those agent's can really mess up your head !!!! (Phew-phew !!) >>>> The answer to the question on top is... 39 hours 55 minutes ! As I used to say (almost 95+ times a day) "Thank You for calling TWA, my name is Tom" moreResolved Question: Im traveling to New York City for Thanksgiving 2009 any cheap air fare?

Have fun btw moreResolved Question: Can I go directly to the gate at the airport where my sister's plane is coming in?
My sister is flying through Air Tran Airlines into Atlanta, Ga and she is traveling by her self with three kids and we don't want her to get lost. Atlanta is a very huge airport with subways and all. Me and my mom are wondering if we can meet her directly at her gate when she gets off the plane instead of having to meet her like a baggage claim or right before security check. Usually they don't let you go past the security check unless you have a ticket or you are picking up a minor or something. What would we have to do to get permission to go through the security check and meet her right at her gate to help her with everything? Thanks in advance. moreResolved Question: How is AIR TRAN? Safe,Reliable, Comfortable?
Have you ever traveled with Air Tran?? I am thinking about purchasing a ticket from them- from Dallas-Ft.Wort to West Palm Beach Are safe, reliable?? Any opinions? Thank Youyeah , I agree, there aren't any comfortable and reliable ones anymore!! I always fly with NWA ( which I am not crazy about) I think the most important thing is the "safety" moreResolved Question: Physics help/challenges?
Here are a few problems I need help with on my physics homework. 1) With a cruising speed of 2.30 x 10^5 km/h. the french supersonic passenger jet Concorde is the fastest commercial airplane. Suppose the landing speed of the Concorde is 20% of the cruising speed. If the plane accelerates at -5.80 m/s squared, how far does it travel between the time it lands and the time it comes to a complete stop? 2) The Sears Tower in Chicago is 443 m tall. Suppose a book is dropped from the top of the building. What would be the book's velocity at a point 221m above the ground? Neglect air resistance. 3) Stretching 9345 km from Moscow to Vladivostok, the Trans-Siberian railway is the longest single railroad in the world. Suppose the train is approaching the Moscow station at a velocity of +24.7m/s when it begins a constant acceleration of -0.850 m/s squared. This acceleration continues for 28s. What will be the train's final velocity when it reaches the station? 4) Some tropical butterflies can reach speeds of up to 11 m/s. Suppose a butterfly flies at a speed of 6.0 m/s while another flying insect some distance ahead flies in the same direction with a constant speed. The butterfly then increases its speed at a constant rate of 1.4m/s squared and catches up to the other insect 3.0s later. How far does the butterfly travel during the race? I really appreciate your help, and this homework is due tomorrow. moreResolved Question: Air Tran Allowing Pets?

Enquirying if anyone has travelled on the Vladivostok Air Flight from russia far east to the united states? I am planning on a round the world (through europe trains, via the trans-siberian railway); I understand the required flight journey is an inland russian flight, then onto america!! are there any restrictions i.e visa requirements (single / double entry?), or russia permit to enter a paticular area required? (i understand KAMCHATKA requires a local permit?, would this appy to just visiting the airport?) moreResolved Question: What can you take with you on Air Tran flights?
We are flying out of Midway airport on Sunday. We are flying on Air Trans. We have never flown with them before. How soon should we get there because they have paper tickets and we don't have our seats assigned yet? We are traveling with 6 people. Our flight is at 7:30 in the morning. I think we are planning to get there at about 5:00. Also, we are going on our 4th cruise, and it is to the Caribbean. So, we need to take sunscreen. I like the kind that comes in an aerosol bottle, but I don't think you're allowed to take that with you. Can you? If not, it is fine because we have a bunch of other sun screen. Thanks. Also, how is Air Tran? Do you like it. Our friend who travels a lot says it is a good air line to take out of Midway. Also, where is Midway. We have heard many different things about where it is. We live in Northeast Indiana, so usually we fly out of Fort Wayne or Indianapolis. We have never flown out of Chicago before. It was the cheapest one we could find though. moreResolved Question: Airtran & expedia?
I am traveling with air tran and I got 2 tickets online with expedia. i left my plane tickets in ohio and I drove to florida, I went into my email and printed them out again, but they printed out really small, the box is little but still readable. I can't get ahold on an operater with airtran, its all automated, will this paper work or does it have to be the original, also, if i were to take it and it didn't work, can I use my information to prove I bought the tickets and get on the plane anyways? moreResolved Question: What Airlines are charging the extra fee right now for an extra bag?

Last summer we travelled to Cancun, Mexico and stayed at the Royal Holiday. Here, I was invited to be a member of a special program in which we pay about $200 per month until the total is $14,555. I was told that as a member of this program I can travel every where in the world and the Royal Holiday will pay air fare, hotel, restaurant. In the agreement they wrote "transportation", and the manager who signed that contract explained to me that it meant "air fare". Later, when I came back the US, they sent a letter to me to say sorry because "there is a small mistake" (their words), "transportation" implied "transportation from airport to hotel". Therefore, I had to ask my bank cancel the transaction. Now, the Royal Holiday in Cancun send me a Final Notice in which they say if I don't pay $14,555 they will send the case to the International Division of United Credit Bureau, Equifax, Trans Union. Should I bring this issue to the court? Or Any thing I should do? moreResolved Question: can i tow a 1000lbs trailer with a 2007 ford focus?

How do you select between two jobs? AAA or Air Tran Customer Service?
I have receeive an Job offer from AAA (auto service) and I have an interview coming up for Air Tran Airlines. I am torn because one is a job that I have been hoping for a long time and possibly only because it has travel privilages. I want to travel the world soo bad. The thing with Air Tran is I not only will be doing ticket counter but will also be assigned to baggage, lost & found, loading and unloading the planes, guiding the planes in(cool), cleaning and stocking the plane for take off, boarding the passengers, etc. This can be physically demanding the first 6 months but I get to travel or i can choose to work anywhere they fly as long as they have a open position. Now for AAA, it is sitting in a cubicle, taking calls from people, who need travel service, road service and such. The pay is great along with the benefits just like the airlines. It's very sedentary, quicker paycheck job. I must say i have been un-employed for a year beacause i had to take care of dad. moreResolved Question: Honda brake problems?

White House prepared to open U.S. air routes to Canada, Mexico http://www.alipac.us/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=70559&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= Chad Groening OneNewsNow.com June 25, 2007 An author and investigative journalist says the Bush administration is working on a plan that would essentially erase national borders for air carriers, perhaps paving the way for Mexican and Canadian airlines to compete with U.S. carriers for American domestic and international routes. At an April meeting in Tucson, U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary Peters met with her Canadian and Mexican counterparts to discuss the initial "North American Transportation Trilateral." At the meeting, which went virtually unreported by the American mainstream media, Secretary Peters noted that agreements with the two countries -- a 2005 air services agreement with Mexico, and the Open Skies accord signed with Canada in March -- lift restrictions on continental travel, effectively providing for "free and open trans-border air travel." Dr. Jerome Corsi says the agreements, which are part of President Bush's controversial Security and Prosperity Partnership, will throw open lucrative U.S. air routes. "So Mexicana can fly from Los Angeles to New York, or New York to Paris, or New York to Las Vegas -- anywhere they want to go inside the United States as if they were U.S. airline," he explains. moreResolved Question: This is for frequent airplane travelers- Which airlines do you personally reccommend?
i am flying to San anonito, tx from the washington, Dc area for Christmas holiday. which airline do yout hink handles snow and other holiday travel issues best? i am short and thin so seat size never really bothers me. my carry on bag normally fits under my seat so overhead compratments are not an issue. i check my real bag. in the past my favorite flights have been with Southwest and AA. united was ok. the best deals for TX at this timeare with Air tran and contiental, two airlines i have never flown with. Also tran something too. i don't like the really small planes. i prefer to fly on bigger planes because you don't feel as much turbulence. any info would be appreciated. moreResolved Question: does anyone know if midwest air lines our going to be sold to air tran?

I mean can airports cope? Londons 4 airports seem to be ever expanding and heathrow is in chaos with only 45 seconds it between take offs and landings. surely other transport needs to be used to supplement our insatiable appetite for travel. Trans atlantic flights and western european flights are a prime of example where boats can be used. they should develop some new technology for fast luxury boats, like the infamous titanic was hinting at, which of course is an accident that would unlikely hapen today! sailing is cool man. moreResolved Question: Can you bring a cat with you in the cabin on Air Tran?
